Tokyo Drift was one of those movies where it felt like you are actually IN it. It felt like real life and never wanted the movie to end.

Yeah I mean considering their tire of choice is toyo t1r. Those things went for 250 bucks per tire. Sean went through 3 sets in a practice session. Gets expensive fast.

I get why this was left out. It's hard to cheer for the hero when they are stealing tires from hardworking people. It definitely takes integrity away from the characters and inherently makes them less likeable to the audience.
