This is something that the F&F movies are missing these days. The stakes are: getting revenge for the life of a friend who lost a street race and the danger for those trying to enact that revenge. This occurs entirely within a few suburbs of a city and is significantly more emotionally impactful and memorable than any other movie since. The stakes don't need to be the end of the god damn world every time, just the lives of a few loveable memorable characters.

Probably you cant do that many times... once it gets to be about the 5th dead friend it also starts to lose believability. Theres only one way to go and its to escalate. Its the name of the game unfortunately. Its not a matter of the producers, but the audience: you wouldnt take 5 movies like this one, this one is great because its original, its the first. After that its all a farce, more or less.

I love how Dom gives Brian a look and he takes off then Dom takes off and is more than just going to chase them, he’s gonna parallax lance into oblivion and he’s gonna hopefully do the same to Johnny for what they did to Jessie. Honestly he had a fatherly feeling over Jessie and felt he was still just a kid who was scared, he wanted to protect him. Seeing him die made Dom very vengeful!

For the bullets not hitting Brian, the guy is firing a Mac 11 (fire rate of 1,200-1,600 RPM) one handed, backwards, on a moving vehicle, at another moving vehicles. Also, I doubt he has any real firearms training. I'd be surprised if he hit him with anything. You can even see in one shot the gun spinning in a circle. Now compare that with Brian, who's a trained cops, probably using his duty pistol, shooting from a stationary vehicle, at a vehicle moving directly away, and shooting from a stable position and gets the guy in about five shots. Though you can tell Paul Walker didn't have much experience with guns as he blinks pretty much every shot, a sign of a novice.

My only critique of this chase is how badly the first biker crashed into Dom’s charger and only fell off the bike slowly. You expect going at those speeds that his body would go flying in the air and smashed into something, killing him instantly like any other real life motorcycle collision with a car.
