Great video once again! The ending of your vid is hilarious. Glad someone came out and said what we've all been thinking...... Be true to what you put on the box. Im sure your gonna get some hate for this video but its gotta be entertaining reading some of the comments. Sometimes people get way to serious about their brand, almost as if they were the owners of the company or something.
Love my vorteks. AVC makes it handle so smooth and easy. Have a HPI savage flux xs that's 65 plus but can't get close to top speeds with out spinning out. Very happy with my first Arrma purchase, things a tank as well did about 20 cartwheels into a wall without barley a scratch. Arrma fo life!
Wow. I like everything about this car. Looks solid as a rock at speed. Fast, planted, capable off road, jumps well and looks good to boot. This has to be one of the best 'all rounders' available at the moment no? If I had the budget, I'd snap one up straight away (in the purple I think). Look forward to seeing more of this 👍
I love your videos...I laugh histerically at your cracks at traxxas..lol..I just bought a vorteks myself I absolutely love it..great videos bud...love the little cameo of the guys from top gear..😂
I like aerial tricks, so the Granite is still my choice. But judging by the videos, the Vorteks is the best overall 3s performer. Turns on a dime, balanced in the air, capable off road, super stable at full speed.
This is the last car I've purchased. It's fast and stable in a straight line. It's very squirrelly cornering...likes to swap ends suddenly. I've been trying to tune that out with limited success. The tires sometimes hook the edge on pavement in hard cornering, too. Surprisingly heavy, too ...but it's a great value in the current market.
Traxxas die hard fan here, only because I've been doing traxxas since before aarma was a name. But no hate here. Nobody can be the best at everything all the time. So good job to horizon hobby for being true. I myself get tired of seeing 60+, 70+ 35+ on a box when I know it wont happen. But it never takes away from my fun.
My first car was and still is a Maxx, bloody love bashing it about the skatepark and flinging it through the air, dont regret it for a minute. I am eagerly awaiting the new Arrma 4s line however, I really want something speedier and more stable (I cba to buy 3s batteries or I'd consider a Vortex)
Very nice to see genuine speed claim verified, you may not believe me but i had 60.52 out of my FTX Vantage this morning, video on my channel yes on 4s, a new PB for me. this new Arrma is starting to look very promising
Awesome video tomley looks like a really nice car! I love how it’s able to easily cruse along at top speed I have to say there’s not many of those smaller cars that can do that!🔥👍
Awesome! Loving the videos on this little truck! I called my local hobby shop yesterday and told them to hold a red/blue one for me when they start getting them in early May!
I agree they should do what they on the box absolutely even a mile or two over for good measure. The maxx is very stable once you get rid of those dreadful stock tires. I think it is worth the money in my opinion. The hoss can be very stable on pavement as well with about 10% tsm just to offset the huge tires and l think it has the smoothest throttle in the gameby far as far as Traxxas goes l would never change a spur as well to get a top speed. Thats like saying if we put wings on this truck it will fly. The Rustler dont know getting it today. It is quite an old design though. Like you said about top speed on bashers dose it really matter.
Yeah... speed is not the biggest thing for a Basher... power/acceleration is really what matters. But they plaster it all over the box as it gets peoples attention. “Wings on a truck”.... yes exactly that!
Excellent last clip man @ 7min mark, thug life. I asked you some time ago last summer about the Senton and Granite. I got the Senton and upgraded the shocks, esc, proline hole shot tires and just added a DumboRC controller/receiver with gyro but I haven't tested it yet. Now would you make a vid of the Vorteks together with the Senton and or Granite and compare them? And should I get this Vorteks and sell my Senton? I also have a Losi Lasernut(I know, I know you might say something bad about Lasernut but I like it) I'd like to drive and race them together with the Senton or IF I get the Vorteks. What do you think? Thanks.
@@TomleyRC That seems to be the most talked about colour from what I have seen in video reviews up till now. That was also the one I most considered myself followed by the green.
I have an off subject question.! How cold, weather wise can you run electric cars outside. Is there a temp where bad things start to happen electric or mechanical wise. I have 2, wl144001 cars
Typhon 3s will take a corner with the throttle nailed and sticks like a sticky thing on a particularly stick day. People do forget the Typhon 3s when comparing this new Vorteks to the rest of the Arrma 3s range.
Great video. 👍 Would be interested to see what it does on grass with the faster pinion. Due to not having a runway, or anything close, to run on. 😆 Or will it be a bit too much strain on the motor.
Hey man, i recently bought a new RC, and now my dads like “I gotta get one now! That’s so cool!” So im looking for one for him to buy, that’s not to expensive but fun to drive. He likes off roading and going fast, so something durable, thought I’d just ask you for your opinion.
Depends on your budget really. The 3s Arrma Range are perfect for this. Or even cheaper and in my opinion one of the best ‘bashers’ is the Team Associated MT10
i´s a strasnge phenomenon, brand loyalty - why do people get so attached to a given manufacturer that they´ll get so angry with you for telling the truth? From a psychological viewpoint I guess it´s a similar thing to soccer fans physically fighting over which team is better.
@@TomleyRC People are intrinsically tribal at heart, I guess, and will furiously defend their adoptive gaming console , tv show, or rock band, all the while refusing to see how irrational their behaviour is. I bet there are Cross RC fans who look down on King Kong RC fans at one end of the price spectrum, and WPL fans who despise MN Models fans at the other!
who cares about how fast it goes..so long as you're out there having fun it's all that matters..sure..lots of people will ask how fast it goes, but in a public setting especially with little kids curious about it..do you want to chance it going at that speed and having something break and hitting them? i don't think so..safety is priority around little kids who always say afterwards..mommy! daddy! i want one! that always puts a smile on my face. cheers and thanks for the great video!
I have a brand new granite 3s. and I swear it is freaking nasty fast...looks like they have around the same build with a few extras on vortex....very nice. wish I would've waited a week and got this but my granite is soo fun it's not worth it to me to buy the vortex rn...awesome video bro
Hey:) Can i ask what shocks oil you use to your granite? I have a granite but most change oil. I have oil from Ultimate Racing Silicone Oil in 300,350,400,500,550 and 600. I think 350 is the same as 30WT? I am new to this stuff. Hope you can help me and that you understand my bad english:) lol
My Granite 3s was super unstable at anything above 2/3 power on 3s. Handling was sloppy, response from the controller was slow; I wasn't a big fan of it in general except for how durable it was. This thing seems like everything I have wanted from Arrma in their 3s range. Dang, wish I had one in the worst way!
It is incredibly annoying that they straight up lie about the speed of their vechiles by literally 20 mph. Not to mention the steep prices for a ton of plastic. I recently bought a Hoss, foolishly. Right out of the box it was broken. Needed a new receiver. Hobby shop would not admit anything was wrong with it despite it losing connection only 50ft away. I had to deal with Traxxass directly. I recently had been into Crawlers so I had traded my Tyhoon 6s and my Redcat Kaiju 6s. I decided recently that I again wanted something fast and the hobby shop talked me into the Hoss. Huge difference having owned a Typhoon 6s, huge! And despite being fairly similar in price, nit even close in any other aspect. Terrible decision to have bought this plastic junk Hoss.
i took my element enduro gatekeeper out that i IFS swapped, i got asked how fast it goes, its got big old boggers but lets ask about speed XD i love it i always laugh
Be careful with the receiver and transmitter on the vortex they are a bit sketchy, my brother had one working for only less than a month and it turned out that the problem had to do with radio steering, if anyone has a solution I’m all ears! however my rustler 4x4 vxl has had no radio problems for about 4-5 years and with its speed gearing it can reach 70 mph with proline street fighter tires, cool vid btw!
Box stock Baby!! Included speed pinion!! INCLUDED!!! For the $$$ you spend and it's price point. HARD to Beat!! Traxxas Boys have to spend $$$$ just buy the rig they want, THEN $$$$ to upgrade it out of the box to get the performance!!! Hmmm 🤔!!! I guess you buy what you like, but Arrmas 3s line is KILLING IT!!! Stay safe and bash on from Colorado!!!
@@ivanvrane7213 I don't own anything Traxxas. None of there rigs impress me!! Much less get my $$$$. The Xmaxx looks stout and the new slash drag C10 looks 🔥. Not much else!! Like I said you Buy what you want!
@@TomleyRC I'm fan of all brands as well.. Like I said, all my traxxas are way more durable than arrma's..well, more durable than any of horizon hobby product 😊
If anyone here is a Traxxas fan don't be mad. Demand Traxxas being better as they can be. I'm glad Arrma is performing well. This could mean Traxxas will try harder with future cars.
@@TomleyRC if you don't mind me asking. What battery would you suggest for this car as well as I'm curious to know what the speed test device you use is. I'm about to pick up my car today but I would love to have your battery and speed test tool :) By the way great videos. It helped me decide on the stadium car I was going to buy.
Damn!! Good job arrma. I am glad I love the hobby for the hobby and not the brand. Out off all the rc’s I have only one has left a bad taste in my mouth. And it might just be a lemon from factory. But NOBODY is ever getting MY xmaxx from me. (Best rc basher ever made) cough cough lol.
It drives me crazy that guys buy these OFF ROAD beasts and then concern themselves with it not doing 65 miles/ hour! Which is it, a speed run ON ROAD vehicle or a tough OFF ROAD basher?!! If you’re looking for speed runs, then buy a sleek, low to the ground speed monster with no tread foam tires. Why would you buy a basher- designed vehicle that can’t be turned and is constantly popping wheelies?
So this one seems to be built more for on road stability. The Typhon is really stable if you use thicker shock oil. Anyway, even with the increased price of this it is still nowhere near the Traxxas prices and it is as quick as they say so fair play Arrma. Great vid. Love the end :-)
Hey:) I have a granite but most change oil. I have oil from Ultimate Racing Silicone Oil in 300,350,400,500,550 and 600. I think 350 is the same as 30WT? I am new to this stuff. Hope you can help me. Kindly
How did u get it so soon i been trying since last week there not out till tomorrow. How will u compare it ti the traxxas hoss n last will drive train handle a 4s system thanks
i got into rc because of traxxas.and while im sure its a great company.the only vehicle i have purchased from them that the electronics werent garbage is my trx4.love that but bashers, hands down arma takes the cake
I was about to comment and say it's not all about speed. Then you said it. Lol the arrma vehicles typically are faster than traxxas, but I dont care I like traxxas anyway. I like them all actually.
Would you be able to tell me the location of this place? Not sure if you can but worth asking 😁 Need a speed run location and don't mind travelling, in Birmingham but having hard time finding anywhere decent and empty.
Kevin has a video on the Vorteks. He beats the crap out of it while jumping it at 50 feet 100 or so times Until it finally breaks. Seems like the Vorteks is super durable.
I own a rustler 4x4 vxl and have had the speed gearing in it and can say from experience that it's not nearly as unstable as you make it out to be, I can however see it being unstable if the adjustable suspension is out of wack... But a properly set up rustler will most definitely drive straight at speed... The traxxas also has a metal driveline and those plastic gears leave a lot to be desired imho, I am still interested in these vorteks and I certainly would love to get one, competition in the space is always a good thing, but i don't see the good in bashing 'traxxas fanboys' We all love what we love, leave it at that.
You did fail to mention your running a super high c rated battery, if not mistaken traxxas claims are with a low c 25c battery, makes a difference, and yes understand doesn't quite live up to speed claims, BUT
Yes, you are kinda right... however, the Batteries I'm running are £40 in the UK, and the 5000mah 25c TRX ones are £68... Traxxas yet again supplying lesser performing products for more money :)
@@TomleyRC point taken my slash still runs close to that as i said ,with the motor conversion, and on 2s and runs an hour, less performance? Maybe maybe not
