We are down for a Hatsune Miku ND and Gabriele Piana understanding that is stock DRIVETRAIN not stock. What? Does it really look faster than the RingBanana?
Whoa! How stable the car is!! I'd buy any car this guy sets up. Springs, shocks, wheels, tyres. He has the right set of mind. "When going into the corner, I want the front of the car to circle and go into the turn". "When improving your car, you improve yourself". Rare these days. P.S.: I see what he did with the license plate...
This video reflects the essence of what the channel is. There's nothing more beautiful than sharing your passion with others, no matter what you drive or how you drive it. Sharing challenges will make everyone improve and your friends' achievement become yours.
i fell in love after 20 seconds already. a red NA miata in nordschleife trim is hard to top. also the lap was very good, excellent momentum driving. and that ending is a hell of a teaser!
This video is so beautiful. Tim is an awesome guy that I met because of the OLH channel and I can fully relate to everything he says. The best thing about the Nürburgring and the OLH spirit is that with passion you can achieve your goals and get rewarded with great friendships.
Desmo BC you are wrong my friend. Mazda never stopped making 1.6’s. Also, this dashboard was used for both 1.6 and 1.8 equipped cars from 1994 onwards.
Tim is an awesome guy! I guided him on his very first few laps with this car (and his first few laps ever) after we met through simracing and I'm glad to see his efforts with this car getting recognized here
Wow. The car looks very well setup. Very stable and composed. The driver isn't working his balls off to keep the car fast through the turns. I'd love to have a go in that.
Well done Tim! Not easy to get a word in with these two hahaha I'm so glad you got this far, and got some one lap heroes recognition, and that they made this video with you to celebrate your self build mx5 and your impressive lap. Hope to meet you sometime finally, and share a good chat and a beer.
Top car and driver, hats off to you! lot of truth of what he said ,simulator helped me a lot with driving AND! setup . Grate vid boys Big Cheers from Oz
Came here and subscribed after a reference from Greg Peters at CarPassionChannel. I'm from Washington State, on the west coast of the United States. So cool to see guys in Europe modifying / racing / enjoying the same cars as we have here in the US. Also, your English is superb! Better vocabulary than many people for whom English is their only language! Where do all three of you live?
Really appreciated! Both the shout-out from Greg and for staying and around checking our builds! We are based to Germany, next to the Nurburgring, but whole team is from all different corners of Europe (Italina, Spanish, Greek, German e.t.c.). However we speak a common language. Cars...
Boss 🔥🔥🔥 Driving that fast on that track takes skillz and big balls

Cool story, the lap is impressive. Even with slow cars there are a couple of corners that take a lot of comitment(not to say other things) to go flat out. PS: That final shot tho... can’t wait to see the result!
Most impressive part (other than the driving skills which are excellent) is that he build it on his own !!! My respect to this little guy !!!! Cant wait to see the dorito he is working on !!!!
Wow! Impressive setup and driving! And seems like a really cool guy :D I hope to go there with my NA myself someday! See what my minor modifications result in. Until then I will keep driving the ring in Assetto Corsa!
Super clean drive, keeping the momentum is really super hard. Nice DIY job on the car, it is well balanced and it handles very well. More shit like this please ;)
it was rFactor 1 and Automobilista non-stop! amongst others we organized a series called OVGT3 which was hilarious and you can find some recordings on youtube. but LFS is great too.
@@Kraid07 no wonder your so good at driving. rFactor is a SERIOUS simulator. And theyr not games really, theyr incredibly realistic and give you transferable driving skills that you can use in real life on track. I'm currently practicing on Assetto Corsa VR myself. While doing a few track days in between. I want to become a fast driver on track. With my MR2 Roadster 1.8L N/A 150bhp / 970kg
@@amancars3807 Absolutely agreed. I think rFactor 1 is special because it really teaches and encourages you where you can gain more time. Dude in the future I want to build an MR2 as well. My MX-5 corners well and now with thicker rear sway bars it rotates better. But still I want more dynamic rotation which I think can only be achieved with rearward weight bias (mid or rear engine). This is why in my current mx-5 rotary swap project I moved the engine as far back as possible and cut into the firewall
@@Kraid07 Kraid oh that's really cool, yes the mr2 mk3 is a very good platform also, you won't be dissapointed. Due to the MR rear weight bias even a LITTLE bit of trail braking can give a BIG rotation lol. Nice to know about your mx5 engine placement, great idea 👌. Atm on youtube the fastest stock 140bhp mr2 roadster ive seen done a 8:37 BTG (only tyres and coil overs). But if tuned with 10bhp extra via exhaust upgrade, light weight flywheel, and light weight wheels (rotational mass, parasetic power loss & braking distance) such as 4.4kg enkei rpf1 15x7, and a great driver. It could get a much better time
Love it! I have a 1990 myself that’s been lightly massaged. What wheels/tires were those? The wheels look like the stock daisys but you mentioned 205s?
So much fun listening to these guys speaking English They are obviously fluent. They are able to express fairly complex ideas in English without much effort. Their grammar is pretty good, better than most Americans. But then their accents are so thick (Italian, I think), iit is an effort for me to understand them. Are they doing that intentioinally? In any case, it is very cool to watch (hear). Wow. The gray t-shirt guy sounds German!
That lap time in a 120hp car is so cool. But it has way less body roll than a stock Miata. I suspect it has quite a bit of aftermarket suspension, brakes, exhaust, etc. I like cars that handle "like karts" Wonder what a 120hp Ariel Atom would do?
What lap time do you think theoretically some one like Kostas would do in Carpassion's MX5 (420WHP with 245 Hankook RS4s and coilovers is a basic rundown on the car)
A 400 whp Miata that has the support mods for that power would probably be a whole minute faster than the above. However, as in many things in life, this is easier said than done.
This Video is so inspiring! Building my own 99 NB for the track & autox. Starting to learn how cars works and slowly but surely turning my first car into something even more special for me! Thanks for the last few words :) Also Tim, what coilovers do you have ? Didnt quiet understand tho. And do you have Instagram oder fb ? :) Greetings from Stuttgart ! Ps: Holy fuck just saw the last 2 seconds of the video... duuuude, thats mental!
The RX-7 AFM is a documented mod (although a bit archaic and the parts are getting old/rarer). Normally you should be much better off converting to a MS and ditch the whole AFM. The rest of the short intake is handmade by Tim (as is almost everything you see in the car) and is part of the reason we dig this build so much.
Someone guys can tell me RX7 FC airflow sensor and Civic's radiator parts number? I would like to do same modifications to my MX5 na but my spare parts supplier ask me for parts number... So If anyone can help me would be great! Thank U from Italy
Are you still selling the ringbanana ? sorry if that's a stupid question, i haven't followed for a while. when i saw the ad on facebook, i almost pulled the trigger. almost. i kinda regret it now.
Yep we meant 1.6 N/A and although there is no possibility this car makes only 115 hp the power is not the only thing that matters. If someone watches the video above and only focuses on the numbers he is clearly missing the best part. (Which is the approach to cars, driving on track and... life in general!)
The intake and exhaust system of all NAs is rubbish. Instead of doing a bunch of stuff like polishing, play with valves, cams and AFM's just change them. The intake on this is a good solution, mind though that all civic's cooling systme works on 1.1 bar not 0.9 like the mazda's. And the most rubbish of all in the header. It is just ridiculous compared to a stock honda header. Mine has around 20hp more just with complete expensive exhaust and jackson racing cold air intake.
Fantastic Video and car introduction, although claiming the car is "stock" reminds me of girls who claim to be "virgins." Stock-ish or Virgin-ish doesn't matter, they're both fun to ride/drive (HARD) often and make you smile. 👍👍
There is nothing stock about this car. The modification list is extensive and even the power level is not really stock. The whole 'stock' debate is more an inside joke at this point...
