SPRING COME, WEATHER GETTING WARMER, IT IS GOOD TIME TO START GROWING EPIPHYLLUM.
I HAVE ALOT OF CUT LEAVES, ANYONE WHO NEED TO START GROWING EPIPHYLLUM FROM THE LEAVES, LET ME KNOW. ( in US only)
This is the fastest and the most effective way to propagate Epiphyllum or Orchid Cactus from the leaves. I have developed this method by incident. It happens in early morning of Spring this year, when I watered my orchid cactus, I broke one leaf with the bud ready to blossom. I felt so bad , so I brought it inside the sunroom, and put it in plastic food saver with little of water, hoping that this bud will blossom, but it wilt and fell off.
I still leave that leaf in water about 4 weeks, then one day by my curiosity, I take it the water and check that leaf , I was surprised, it formed few roots. So I left it in the water few more weeks, it formed a lot more roots, I took it out the water and plant it small plastic pot, it grows very healthy.
After that incident, I started to study by cut few orchid cactus leaves and observed the process .
You can see in my video, this new method have very high successful rate. Should do this new method in the Summer.
Now I am very happy to share with all of you, who enjoy growing Epiphyllum or Orchid Cactus.
