Sorry to hijack this thread but it's just an ask-do you mind highlighting where the player is before the play starts in future videos? Like a circle around the player? It's really difficult to tell who's who from these All-22 clips, so it's harder to know who to watch as the play develops until the QB decides to throw the ball. Forces me to rewind which is pretty annoying. Just my take tho, love the channel
@@michaelo8446yeah I feel that. Like, if youre watching a video on a boundary exclusive CB/ WR its pretty easy to know where theyre at, on the boundary. Or RBs… probably in the backfield unless specifies otherwise. But in the case of LBs sometimes or DBs who can line up all over, yes would be very appreciated. Especially from such zoomed out views. Us plebs need a little assistance lol
Patrick was once a speed addict. After a few years of withdrawal he confessed to GM Brett Veach on draft day that he has the need... for speed. Speed off condensed sets are back on the menu once again for the Chiefs.
@@Rob93WLR You don't have to show us how little you know immediately. You could just say you have doubts and people might not know for sure you're just a hater with no clue what you're talking about. Despite the fact he's one of the best guys coming out this year in tracking the deep ball and positioning himself for the catch you'll just repeat the same stupid again. Probably repeat something dumb about how KC misses Hill and have no idea Hill's drops led to 5 INT's his last year in KC.
I will be absolutely baffled if he doesnt go 1st round. His issues are so easy to coach out and if he somehow falls to the chiefs theres just no way they dont take him.
@@angrydrunkengerman2819 yaaaa, as a die hard chiefs fan. We will be lucky to make history this year with three straight wins. No ones ever done it, and only one or two teams have even been to three straight super bowls.
@@mitchellapple9184 The SEC don't like their film existing on youtube, it unfortunately cost us years of work last season a longer answer can be found here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sVoPqrp28No.html
Devonta Smith is 170lbs. The weight thing isn't an issue IMO, we need over the top speed like tyreek to stretch the field and make teams play cover two so we can work the field. Lets go with the 3-peat!
the separation he gets on these routes is CRAZY. to think this guy totaled almost 1000 yds as a freshman at Texas is also wild. So happy with this pick #chiefskingdom
Inconsistent QB play is the reason for the underwhelming speed. There are multiple extended montages of him being missed wide open due to poor QB play. Had he had a QB that could hit him in stride he would've easily been a 1500+ 12TD guy
People forget that Tyreek wasn't a very polished receiver out of college. He came out as a hybrid RB/WR who was a kick returner. He had the work ethic to become a serious dude. But this kid is 10x more advanced a route runner and is only 21 years old! With Mahomes, this kid's ceiling is as high as anybody.
People keep talking about his size... he is 20 years old lol. He has another 5+ years of maturing to do. Andy knows what he wants, speed and intelligence. Everything else can be coached and developed. Kelce is going to taking naps in the secondary he'll be so open next year.
Thanks for the video. Great highlights, breakdown, and analysis. We Chiefs are looking forward to Andy and Patrick extracting every ounce of talent from this young man.
The thing with KC is it felt like this year more than ever it was hard to win games late with their receiving core being limited. This addition just opens up their game play so much more.
Can we just nickname him "X factor 2.0" already? Cannot wait to see this kid build a lethal rapport with Patty. Alexa play lil wayne, 3 peat! Great job with this video too! Keep em coming
@ThinkingFootball. Well, Andy Reid is his offensive coordinator and you know he knows exactly how to use a weapon like Xavier. This is going to be fun! 😁👍🏿
People have to take in account why his numbers were subdued. Texas had an NFL starting caliber RB,TE,WR in the same starting lineup as Worthy. Some of those routes were nasty. Marquise Brown & Xavier Worthy will keep safeties 15yds+ back.
He's definitely got handles, but he doesn't have cheetah speed. Good awareness on the field, willing to take the hit and the block. He's got a lot of spunk to him.
Yeah...yeah...yeah dat's all good, but he had a lot of drops for Texas las year, but that seems to be the mojo of all my Chiefs receivers...lol. Great job thank you sir! He will be mostly returning kicks and punts, as you know special teams is one-third of the game. Nex..
I don't like Xavier Worthy on most teams because I think he's too small, but I could see him having success with the Chiefs. They'll gadget the shit out of him, get him in motion to beat press, design some plays to get him out in space where he can rack up some YAC... and the deep speed makes it so you can't cheat safeties underneath on Kelce/Rice or you risk getting smoked.. especially with Marquise Brown running to the opposite pylon. Plus you got Mahomes back there just running around buying time, can't cover 4.2 speed when a play breaks down. I doubt he'll ever be a traditional #1 WR, but he can play a big part in improving that offense
I think Xavier is going to be an interesting case study. Everybody wants the next Tyreek Hill, but for every Hill there is a John Ross, Jalin Hyatt, Deanthony Thomas, etc. Even Desean Jackson was 175 lbs at 2 inches shorter. You have to be more than just a straight speed guy if you aren't big, and I worry Worthy - with his size profile - isn't going to be able to hang in for those tougher and tighter catches. He's got incredible toughness for sure, but those NFL corners are just as tough. He won't beat a guy with his routes right now and he's going to need to be a supplementary weapon to really become a long-term deep threat. I hope the world for him, but I wouldn't pick him until the 2nd or 3rd.
Jalin Hyatt is a bit of an unfair selection because he's only had one year and it wasn't even that bad, but it's pretty clear he's not "the guy" for New York.
@@timrc417Everything you said is an easy fix and easily coachabe. He can still put on weight, remember Tyreek was just a return specialist and Reid taught him how to run routes, another easy fix. Yes there’s been a lot of bust fast players but there’s also a handful of great undersized players. Desean Jackson and Devonta smith both have similar built. I think he’ll be just fine.
As a Texans fan, I see Tank Dell, except his route running isn't quite at that level. A step faster than Tank though. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.
TO? you gotta do a TO video... is it on patreon? i gotta watch that. I appreciate the breakdowns, pretty comfortable knowing what to expect. 9er fan til I die so of course an owens highlights would be cool af... did you nkow he was on pace to beating JRice's TD record... seems like TO is getting into the NFL as early as possible to go after the record. They didn't rush TO too much, maybe with some good blocks he can run some schemes, of course a student of the game he says he isn't, admitting his first love was basketball. It took me years to really appreciate the schemes, the timing and spacing. But I think TO was a TD machine. What I think a lot of people dont realize is a TD can happen as fast as you can run 100 yds. Terique is about 20-30lbs short of his father at the same height. People also assume speed is the same everyday, not true, try running on an injury or after getting your rib displaced. Everyday is a different pain for an RB... WR ok you have to have a light foot but with a big frame to hide his rb and qb with is essential. He's 6'3 which makes him easier to track down range. I just hope purdy can get his rhythm down quick because the D this year are not lacking.
The HC/play caller to maximize him? Andy Reid. The GM who called his name (heck even trading up for it) on day 1? Brett Veach. The QB throwing him the rock who knows all too well on working with speedsters? Patrick Mahomes. Life is unfair.
As y'all so aptly define in your pieces about how the new defensive strategies are compromising the value of these types of WRs...it is not clear that even Mahommes will be able to take advantage of X's speed.
My dream came true either brian thomas or Xavier worthy woulf fall to the chiefs lord have mercy. Kelce and worthy in motion is gonna be so damn scary. I see another 50 td 5000k season for pat.
