In Australia we get 1-4mbps average this video played in 360p at best then dropped to 144p at around the 3 min mark cheers Australia

Server was automatically selected, no proxy was at play. I ran the test multiple times and multiple servers. Old router performed worse regardless, these mesh systems are the real deal. I've made almost 1000 videos here for over 5 million subscribers. I would never jeopardize that by simply stating what any brand wanted me to state, it just wouldn't make sense. Ultimately it's up to you and your WiFi scenario / space. Many variables at play but this is the fastest I've ever tested for my network, mobile device, location of test etc. If you don't believe me, give it a shot. Also for reference, I got great numbers on the Eero system I tested recently but still not as good as on this new one. Lastly, I'm actually located slightly closer to Barrie than Toronto (roughly halfway). As you know Speedtest automatically selects an optimal nearby server unless you demand otherwise.

The two servers used in the video are around 50 miles of each other. That may affect ping slightly, but it will not affect speeds at all. I live in America and I can download files from Russia at the same speed as downloading from a server hosted in my city. All of you guys accusing Lew of faking the results are idiots, study how the internet works before claiming someone is getting paid to lie to you.

Lewis, i'm starting to get really pissed at these sponsored videos. I'm fine with them, but if you attempt to manipulate the results to favor a certain item just to increase the bank in your pocket well i'll be damned. When you attempted to show the difference between the old router vs the new router, you can see the speed test weren't fair since they we're hosted in different servers ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CoXI9EvBmak.htmlm16s, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CoXI9EvBmak.htmlm23s. That means that you either were at that location (which you weren't) or you set up a VPN in order to make the older router look worse,. That's extremely biased and corrupt. Even if they were in "different networks" that still is a false comparison since we don't know the capabilities of the old router. Nonetheless, I'm pissed off that you're trying to mislead viewers into thinking "your old router sucks, get this one!" when that sometime isn't clearly the case. *EDIT*: HOLY SHIT! I never expected this comment to blow up lol. I made this comment quick so I couldn't really explain myself. Thank you for everyone commenting, whether it was useful insight, agreeing with me or downright disagreeing with me and agreeing with Lew. All I'm trying to do is make everyone a conscious consumer and make the right decision. Before I like to say anything, I will retract my claim saying he used a VPN which very likely didn't. I see that Lewis replied to my comment and made another comment on the video about my remark which is great, but really leaves me at unease at his comment. The reality is that Lew probably did manipulate or at least made a mistake which clearly favors this expensive enterprise router from Ubiquiti. What he did was that on his old "high-end" router, he probably was using a 802.11b WFfi protocol which is a very old standard that has a theoretical data rate of 11Mbps (www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005725.html). He was getting 7Mbps down from 120Mbps which is a huge decrease. Any AC router will easily hit that speed. It doesn't make sense for a "high-end" router to hit that really low data rate. That is very unlikely coming from a RU-vidr that does tech as a profession. Who the hell would be running 7Mbps and not notice it? Many people in Lew side will claim that it's because he's farther from the room where the router is, but that will not affect data rates, only signal strength. I'm in the process of making a video solely to inform those on the HUGE mistake made in Lew's video. *TL;DR*: I will make a video on the matter for those who don't understand and further proving my point. My grandma needs this, The ping is in the 400's range. It stops the video because it is so slow and sometimes kicks me off the internet because it is unplugged when really the ping just goes up to 500. Thanks for making this video, this will definitely make a change

The problem of course is going to be the same as any other wireless bridge setup. The devices that don't have such an 'app' are going to connect based on signal strength. That means that if you're between the two bridges, you'll connect to whichever one is closer, even if it's the weaker AP. Unless these are hard lined through your power receptacles, but that seems like it'd be worth mentioning...

Ubiquiti products are awesome. I own an IT business and for business/enterprise environments, we use the Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO access points. Second to none performance. I just wish their controller software didn't run in Java. But yeah.. I have two of them at home and we get every bit of the speed that we pay for, and handoff is an AMAZING feature. It's awesome to be watching a RU-vid video on your phone, walk from one end of my home to another and not have a single bit of buffer time between it automagically switching AP's.

Literally just bought that set-up last night. Normally it's $350 at Best Buy, but since that also happens to be my place of employment, I took a training course that came with a freaking 70% OFF coupon. Ended up paying around $115 for it. You can't beat that.

Lew, you should try out some powerline networking. It is like you are hardwired in.

230mps here. in NC. Timewarner cable. Its the 200mps package. They offer 300as well. Huge upgrade over DSL. 6mps was the fastest. Its about 85 a month. Ive tried the repeater things. They work but create conectivity issues sometimes. To many signals?? Best to run a hard line from your Modem to another router. Dont be to cheap. 60$ plus should be fine. Make a seperate connection. Then when company comes over get them all on the Regular Modem and youll be cruising still on the 5g full speed. Also hardwire cat 5e or 6 everthing you can. Smart TVs, PC. FireTV etc.Cams.

Lol. People in places like Europe, U.S and Japan complain about shit like 20-50 Mbps and say its slow. here in Australia 5-10 Mbps is best of the best which few people have. I'm at around 800kbps - 1.2 Mbps (around the national average). It can take literally all day to download some games and movies can take hours. stop bitching.

When I tested Amplifi, WiFi speed close to the base unit was almost as fast as Ethernet, near 120 mbps. But 50 ft away, through a few walls, and near a satellite mesh point speed dropped by over 35%. Maybe that's because it uses the same band for back haul as for delivering Internet. A tri-band device would run faster as it could dedicate the 3rd band to back haul traffic going to base unit. Too bad they didn't incorporate fast power line communications to the mesh points. Cube base unit looks beautiful with touch screen and internal antennas.

I don't need a $340 wifi extender when my internet caps out at 15 Mbps because AT&T is too lazy to enable band 2/4 on the tower beside my house... But no... I'm stuck on 3.75G when I could be getting 80 Mbps down with LTE.

I have Gigabit internet from Comcast/Xfinity. I don’t recommend it until better DOCSIS 3.1 modems are available. The provided XB6 router has major LAN issues.

I like this but might I recommend the Netgear C7000 Nighthawk Router/Modem it's a AC1700 and my highest speed was at 230 with 6 devices playing streaming RU-vid at once.
