@ImChris.C seriously. As a trans person myself i don't think trans people ESPECIALLY BEFORE TRANSITIONING should be in prisons for their preferred gender. Its insane that this trans woman who was still very capable of impregnating other women shouldn't be in the same jail as (fertile) women. Not just that but imagine someone just pretending to be transgender so they can escape their actual prison. But in cases like the secon one i feel like people who are in serious danger to get assaulted (as already transitioned medically) should be put in their gender confirming prison. At the end of the day we may need a prison (atleast partial) with trans people only
You are the gender your chromosomes say you are. Even transgender people will say that the appearance of genitals does not necessarily indicate gender. (Only chromosomes can confirm that!) Just like having plastic surgery and altering my body to look like a cat and, even if I identify as a cat and live my life as a cat 100 percent of the time, I'm still not a cat and my genetic makeup will confirm that, it's the same thing with gender. Maybe transgender people just need their own facilities 🤷♀ (Yes including their own bathrooms, just like we have to have wheelchair access, it should fall under the disability laws and rights as gender dysphoria is a disorder)
Sex and gender are different. Gender is a social schema and when that doesn’t align with the SEX you were born as that makes you trans. Being trans doesn’t change the sex you were born and they’re not saying that they weren’t born a certain sex (if they did that would negate them being trans) they’re saying their gender identity doesn’t align with the traditional aspects of the gender typically associated with the sex they were born as and that thus again making them trans.
you probably didn't know this but biological men can be born with xy and xx chromosomes, just like how biological women can be born with xx and xy chromosomes. So would a biological woman who also identifies as a woman, who was born with xy chromosomes be seen as a man to you, or as a woman?
@@derpbot9067 It's not up to me, I'm not a geneticist, if you have a y chromosome, you're a male, this is what i have learned in science if you do not have a y chromosome, you're female. I can alter my body to look like a male, and identify as a male (or a cat or whatever) but I'm still whatever my genetic make up says I am. You cannot change that (yet, maybe some day this will be possible) I will CALL you whatever you ask me to, (just like if you want me to respond to you, I need you to address me however I ask you to) but whatever your chromosomes determine for you is what you are and also none of my business.
