as brasilian, we are very familiar with Fátima's miracles. It's a very popular devotion here. I visited Fátima and it was a very unique experience. I have never felt so much peace as I felt that day. It's a different place....

I was born in '61 and raised with the Catholic Church. Unlike many _Fallen Catholics,_ I do not disparage The Church. I became a Spiritualist, but I find as I get older I become more Catholic in my Spiritualism. I have always been a spiritual seeker. I feel the Catholic Education I got as a child gave me the programming language in my brain to understand the esoteric. I have to admit that attending a Catholic Service, especially if performed in Latin touches me inside. There is power in something said in Latin. Perhaps that's why JK Rowling used Latin as the base for most of the _spells_ used in the Harry Potter Book series. Here's an odd thing: There are two places in a Catholic service where Alter Boys used to ring a bell, just after the attending priest quoted Jesus. They no longer ring the bell, but I can hear the bell ring~ even if I am attending in a language I can not speak, I can hear the bell ring each time.

My grandparents were there and witnessed the phenomenon. I know of someone who was 15- 20 km away and also witnessed the "dance of the sun".

I visited Fatima in 2019 and it was a very eye opening experience. I brought my kids and we visited the homes of the children and even stood in front of the stone wall of their house.. fascinating story.

Boy this man can tell a fascinating story. Not meant as a reflection on the correctness of the content, but on how interesting he is. And so knowledgeable. Wonderful to listen to. Am much in agreement regarding the Church's bad judgment in banning the Latin mass. Saddening, a loss of beauty and tradition. Also, at the end James refers to the significance of an individual's actions in relation to the people around him or her. One more lesson to take to heart. Thank you Jeffrey. I've had a few mystical experiences myself, and seen a few things. Once we connect and follow our own intuition instead of listening to the external world around us, things begin to align, that's our mission here, to align with the sacred and know we are spiritual beings having an earthly experience.

Thank you both so much for this informative interview. Our Lady, as goes by many a name, is easily accessible to all, always, by just starting a conversation. In my experience, the rosary offers a spiritual portal that can bring the mystical to life for individuals practicing it, offering greater connection to intuitive guidance toward the potential for a powerful healing journey. It is a spiritual tool that facilitates a subtle process of gaining greater spiritual alignment, balance and peace within. This powerful tool would be a huge threat to any organization wanting to control thought and behaviour. This would explain why Vatican II essentially "buried the Lady" along with the Latin Mass. No matter your beliefs or religious affiliations, the rosary mystical portal and the Lady cares not and is equally as wonderous in effect when called upon.

I enjoy all your interviews with James Tunney and the friendship and goodwill that comes across in your conversations, and that's present in all your interviews, with anybody. So, thanks for being so open, Jeffrey, and making space for these fascinating and enlightening talks.

Marian apparitions occur at times of great social upheaval. James's conclusion about political opponents praying for their vanquished enemy, is a useful takeaway point. Sometimes global events are so intractable that they have to be framed within prayers of intention, because there is no objective way through the problem. Each apparition emphasises a different virtue to coincide with the concurrent threat.

So many congruencies with what is my experience as a lifelong investigator/artist (my Spiritual process) The synchronicities with present time downloads of light/information/frequencies are so heartening and that you finish with Steiner and Michael Collins! Edgar Cayce felt disturbed because Spiritual trasmission said that Russia would be the saving of the world. Loved the info about Malachy, the ex Jesuit. The religious that I have come across are all terrified of death and do not realize that they are matierialist when it comes to the crunch. The deity is money and keeping safe. Love you both. An interesting and quite widespread phenomenon. Apparitions of deities in the sky are reported both in Tibet and India. After the passing of one of the highly regarded Lamas in Tibet recently unusual rainbow lights appeared as a large robed figure seated in meditation position. The photographs that I saw were quite compelling. The Virgin Mary might be a manifestation of the anima or Great Mother symbol appearing in symbolic form in different ways according to the cultural disposition of the experiencers. Might the degree of the intensity of belief explain the differing experiences of the participants at Fatima? It certainly suggests the image is arising from the collective unconscious, the age old dreamer of dreams and faultless prognosticator.

That's a good idea, a spiritual awakening is needed to solve our problems. We can't save ourselves with a selfish attitude because of our fear of each other.

The petals falling was interesting to hear as this is something that often happened in Marcello bacci's gatherings when he would have the voices of deceased people speaking through his radio to their family members. Also I believe this is a common story told about the death of the Buddha too..that petals appeared out of nowhere and fell down on his body

I really like listening to Tunney speak. He is among my favorite NTA guests. His insights are really true and helpful. I would like to put it out there that the Vatican is not really banning the Latin Rite mass. The instruction as I understood it was that churches may continue to hold traditional Latin Rite masses, but may not devote *all* a church's masses to the Latin mass. In brief, the local vernacular should not be replaced by all Latin masses but a parish can have both. And since we're on the subject of the Latin mass, many Anglo-Catholic congregations of Episcopalians in the USA are celebrating the mass in Latin these days so that's another option if one is interested. Lastly, I think Tunney really gets PKD in a spiritual and mytho-poetic way. Peace to all. Thank you so much, Jeffrey!

Loved it. As a historian of Chinese art & culture I studied Guanyin, Chinese Goddess of Mercy, who has the same physical attributes as Fatima & is in Macau worshipped as both Guanyin (in her incarnation as Tian Hou, Goddess of the Sea) & Our Lady of Compassion, Mary Mother of God.

If we look at the key players in our current conflicts and take off their masks, I think we would see the opposite. Those who promote themselves as our leaders are leading us down the wrong path (greed for control and hatred and war) and those they point to as the enemy are standing firm against them and in so doing represent a force against evil, a role model for us all. If we are too afraid to stand for goodness and kindness, truth and honesty, we are lost to these evil forces. James is a rare spiritual visionary.

34:00 I'm a Catholic who grew up with a ton of Fatima conspiracies and apocalypticism. In a few deft words, he has reframed my view of hell completely, and in a far more accurate view of the meaning of hell and the love of God. Hell is not a destination, but a stage of rejection that cannot be as definitive and eternal as God. I'm a bit blown away here. Wrestling with the problem of hell, as it is generally understood, has pushed me to a lot of study and a little prayer, and universalism is the only practical answer. The details are still key, and his comments here resolved a massive sticking point for me. Thank you!

I found James final comment powerful. It amazes me that the world cannot act collectively and more decisively to stop the barbarism that has been taking place in Ukraine. As James says, we simply do not have the will or the tools to solve this problem on our own. We need to kick this up a notch and call upon spiritual forces to help with this horrific evil that is taking place. We have been warned.

I think one of the most likely possibilities is Vallee’s Control System. My understanding of it is that it’s a homogenous phenomenon that provides the required experiences in order to establish a social outcome. So when you examine the effects, you could understand where it’s taking us next. This approach requires the view that it’s all the same phenomenon from mythologies, religions, to modern cases. The end question imo is whether going towards the light is the right thing after life. And the reason why it becomes NB is due to Eastern Traditions having written re Psi and benefits of Meditations. They also wrote re the after life and the astral realms (I.e Tibetan Book Of The Dead). They knew the most and had the same accounts of NDE’s, OBE’s, Psi we now know of in modern research. Their way of life is one of non engagement. Which poses the q of why is this reality such a burden to us, and if escaping reincarnation cycle is the point through this way of life, it makes you wonder, if we are in some sort of soul trap/ farm. But that offends many so no one asks the question seriously.

In pouring rain, the crowd follows the entranced children to apparitions and tears the branches and leaves from a small tree said to have sheltered the Madonna.

I believe hell exists in the lower dimensions.. a state of attainment level, positions of a souls evolving, and depending on a passed soul their journey, and projections of LOVE, altruism and kindness. If none of these are demonstrated in any incarnation they would slip to the lower levels to learn more about LOVE. The higher level dimensions are toward the Love of GOD the seat of God at the highest level (goodness) unconditional heavenly celestial Spiritual beings reside there, with much wisdom and knowledge of the power of the source. The WORLD we live in now is full of young souls with little knowledge, this is why we have these struggles.

Story of Fatima has always amazed me since my young catholic boys days but when I heard Chris Bledsoe's story the parallels were unremarkable especially with "the lady" I immediately thought of Fatima and other apparitions of Mary. Even the Bull that showed up was seen in other apparitions. It was interesting to see how people in power in the government and the church wanted to know what the "the lady" said to Chris and how they wanted to be close to him because she choose to appear to him. I truly believe there is higher dimensional/spirit realm and beings that exist over our plane of existence and they are trying to influence us either for "good" or "bad"

The obvious problem with the Mary hypothesis is that the phenomenon of the "lady of light" seems to be cross-cultural, and even to pre-date Christianity.

Fascinating guest and topic. What a wealth of knowledge. One observation: I would not necessarily disassociate the appearance of the Virgin of Fatima with an alien spaceship. If as Jesus said, his father has many mansions, then, there can be messengers of the Father, from other worlds.

This is a feast of things to consider, certainly...I am in absolute agreement with some of what James said here, which I would put forth as a critique of many of the conclusions and methods suggested by some of the other guests on The New Thinking Allowed at various points--and guests who I respect, admire, and enjoy, no less! I could absolutely elaborate on that further, if anyone cares to inquire, but if not, I'll just leave it be for now. There's many other points in all of this that may have wider relevance for religious traditions and movements that he did not mention, either--again, a matter on which I could elaborate, but will leave be for now. However, I do have a further point, and a potentially interesting one in relation to the last matter that James brought up regarding the death of Michael Collins (whose place of assassination is somewhere I visited while in Ireland on one of my forays west of Cork City, where I spent the majority of my time living there for five years), and how those in jail opposed to Collin's faction were doing the Rosary upon hearing of his death. This is something I think is not entirely distinctive towards, but is certainly very characteristic of, the traditional viewpoints of Irish culture that most likely extend back into the pre-Christian period, but in some senses are carried on within Christianity as well (in ideal most often and far too infrequently in practice) in the form of the teaching "love thy enemy." Within the warrior cultures and traditions of Ireland, there is an inherent respect for one's adversaries on the field of battle, and an understanding that they are people just like one and one's allies are, they have lives and families and people who love them, and that it should be a cause for mourning when any of them fall, and that one earns no respect by treating them disrespectfully in death even if one is responsible for those deaths. There are battlefield elegies, so to speak, for one's own fallen comrades, but these are also sung (at least in medieval literature) for one's enemies, and in fact some of the most extensive and evocative Old and Middle Irish poetry embedded within the great prosimetric epics of medieval Ireland are of this specific sort. It's something I have found to be one of the most beautiful and important aspects of Irish tradition, and something which we should all take our cues from now. Just because someone is our "enemy" or opposition--no matter in what way--we should think of them as our "worthy adversaries," and though we may be in a situation where we must oppose them, even in active warfare or other such situations, they are no better or worse than we are. This, I think, is the difference between what should be understood as a true warrior--someone who understands the real prices of sacrifice on behalf of one's people in warfare, both for oneself and one's comrades as well as for one's enemies--and a mere trained soldier, who is indoctrinated into the viewpoint we most often associate with warfare (and increasingly so after the American Civil War, and most decisively so after World War I) of dehumanizing one's enemies so that one becomes desensitized to causing their deaths on the battlefield in large numbers and increasingly horrific ways. The United States has reached the pinnacle of that in World War II with the use of the atomic bombs as a measure to try and end the war with Japan "quickly and cleanly" and with fewer casualties (it was hoped) than what might occur if the war went on another year and house-to-house fighting in an armed invasion might be the strategy that was adopted. But, other nations have done it as well, both within active warfare and outside of it, and those tactics of dehumanization are as insidious within modern politics as they are in modern warfare. Anyway...definitely not just food for thought in this latest interview, but a feast for contemplation! Thank you, Jeffrey, and thanks very much indeed, James! :)

Truly another terrific discussion with the brilliant James Tunney. The only thing I found missing was putting Fatima in context with the details and nature of the many other Marian apparitions that have occurred across the centuries -- an excellent book I strongly suggest is by the "Father of Remote Viewing," Ingo Swann. In his book, The Great Apparitions of Mary, he details 22 incidents of these cases starting with the Lady of Guadeloupe in 1531 and up to the incredible events of Bayside, New York, in the 1970s. It's a terrific read! When you put Fatima in context with the 21 other events Ingo describes, I think everything that happened in Portugal, including the prophesies, is seen in a better light. But I would also urge Jefferey to talk to UFO experiencer Chris Bledsoe -- his famous case includes a classic and stunningly dramatic Marian-type element.

This is not the first time that there’s a message for us to pray the rosary. It happened in 1830 (Miraculous Medal) On Mary’s first apparition to St. Catherine Labouré, in 1858 at Lourdes, the incident being discussed at Fatima, in 1973 (Akita, Japan): Our Lady warns St Agnes that we ought to “Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary.”

i think there is a deeper, unified experience happening involving all these things being actual reality. They all fit together in a linear and circular epic story of our material universe, specifically Earth’s inhabitants. Because one phenomenon can be explained by the physics, chemistry or astronomy does not at all nullify the spiritual, social, historical, cultural or political explanations of the same phenomenon. We as a whole being need to get to that level of a more wholistic understanding of our situation to take heed to what, to me, seems to be involved in the 3rd prophecy and how to handle it. It seems the first and second world wars corresponded to the timing of revealing the 1st annd 2nd prophecies. And, is not the third

Great point at the end by James, that conflict tends to escalate when it favors rationality or the left-brain stereotype. Mercy, compassion and empathy are things that are emotionally intuited and tend to be easily blocked out by material distractions, distractions which have been proliferating in number and sophistication.
