I had lost my best friend in 2008, we were both 8 years old, he had leukemia cancer. The movie was really good, but for the most part I wanted to cry because everything reminded me of him. I'm 14 now and I miss him so much.

Both my grandparents on my mothers side died in 2012. My grandma had brain cancer and my grandpa had auto immune hepatitis. They got sick 2 weeks apart and died 2 weeks apart. We took care of them for six months at our house me and my sister gave up our rooms and slept down stairs. It was in and out of the hospital all the time. We changed bandages and did everything for them. I'm sorry what happened to your mother and father in law! I understand what your going through. ❤️❤️

hey Ann, I'm going through a very bad stage in my life, cause I have a disease and I can't do anything at all I cant get out of bed and I cant do anything! All I can do is have my brother bring me food and water and watch your videos. Thanks for inspiring me Ann I love your channel and I love watching it. I had cancer in my 20's and I found it gave me a new lease in life in helping others with cancer. It's sad when people don't make it. All the best to your family member Ann. That cake is spectacular! I'll have to try it.

I cried more during the book but did cry at the movie too... A few months late my boyfriend got diagnosed with cancer and it was terrifying (we were both only 18) but he had surgery and didn't need chemo as it was caught early thank god! Love your videos!

Despite losing my mom to cancer last August, I was able to both read the book and see the film without any sadness striking me. It sets up in such a way that I didn't feel it as related to what happened to my mom in her cancer battle. Though even if it had been a hard thing to sit through, I'd have still done it, not because of how big a trend it is but because it is a movie based off a book written by a fellow RU-vidr. That's a pretty big thing for any of us as RU-vidrs to know one of our own kind has hit such a level of awesome success in their endeavors!

That movie was painfully sad and I've never had anyone close to me get cancer. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch if cancer was something closer to home.

Thank you so much. Both of my grad parents are suffering from cancer and my grandfather is going to die soon. It is sad but TFiOS reminds me that it is not about dying but about the life that he had and although I am crying a lot I am happy that he has a loving family. I am going to watch the movie the second time on Tuesday so that was perfect timing. Massive thumbs up!

My sister is the same way Ann. She won't go to the movies and watch it with me because she doesn't want to cry like a baby. Our dad has had to have several surgeries because of cancer recently. I have the book and have read it multiple times so I'm going to sacrifice watching the movie until it comes out on dvd so we can watch it together and cry all we want. I showed her your vid and told her I would make it for the viewing. She said thank you because ice cream makes everything better! :)

I didn't cry. It's not like it didn't make me sad I just don't cry during live action films, but I do cry when it is a book or an anime. I cry when a show or a series ends. I don't know why I don't cry during films considering that I am an emotional person.

I think my testosterone levels fluctuated when I was nearing the end of the book. I am still debating with myself whether I am going to watch it in the theaters or wait for the DVD to come out; I do not want people to see me after watching the movie, I would surely be a mess. I cried during the book and SO MUCH MORE during the movie. I was most upset because my mother just went through breast cancer. She's alive and well and happy because they caught it early. But I cried more because. Well. Its about cancer and its a soft subject. AUGUSTUS WATERS WILL LIVE ON!

I didn't cry. I don't cry over movies. I know they aren't real. Well, I know cancer is real but the scenario of the movie is fake. Me and a 6 year old girl were the only two people in the entire theatre of 120 people who didn't show any emotion whatsoever. My friends were sobbing and I was like "seriously? Are you seriously crying?" And they were like "*sob sob* yes! It's so sad!" Lol.

Which part is fake?! You don't actually know if a person has fallen in love with another cancer victim. Sure some parts are clearly not reasonable but you make no sense.

Thanh Luong I watched it twice and I swear I would never ever watch it again, not on my free-will. First watched it when I was 7, cried my eyeballs out. Then when I was 10, my brother forced to rewatch it with him, then a vow is made ;w;

Yeah no there's no way in hell I'm reading the book or watching the movie. My best friend died from leukemia a little over 4 weeks ago and The Fault In Our Stars is the last book she bought.
