Holden Triplett has extensive international and domestic experience in national security and intelligence matters, especially with respect to their impact on businesses and private enterprises. In addition to his work at Trenchcoat, Holden is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he teaches a course on Chinese Intelligence, Security and Influence.
Holden left the FBI in mid-2020, after almost 15 years of service. In his last position, Holden was the FBI Faculty Chair at the National Intelligence University where he taught courses in Counterintelligence, National Security Law and Intelligence, and Chinese Intelligence and Information Warfare.
In 2017, Holden was designated the Director for Counterintelligence at the National Security Council. While at the White House, he led the development of counterintelligence policy for the United States; drafting Presidential Directives and legislation to protect the U.S. government and the private sector from exploitation by foreign governments.
Holden has substantial overseas experience. He served as the FBI’s senior official in the People’s Republic of China from 2014 - 2017. During his time in Beijing, Holden was the primary U.S. interlocutor with the Chinese security services on a number of cyber intrusion and economic espionage matters involving U.S. companies. Immediately prior, he was an FBI representative to the Russian Federation in Moscow for two years, where he engaged with the Russian security and intelligence services. Following the Boston Marathon bombing, Holden persuaded Russian security services to provide wide-ranging investigative support to the FBI. He conducted joint activities in Dagestan and other locations in the Caucasus. Holden previously served as the FBI representative to the Joint Task Force on Terrorism Financing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2008.
Earlier in his career, Holden was assigned to the FBI’s New York City office. In New York, Holden gained significant national security and intelligence experience, conducting sensitive investigations and enforcing over 300 federal statutes. In addition, he successfully led an effort to enhance the office’s intelligence capabilities. Later, Holden managed a counterintelligence team of special agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and linguists dedicated to protecting the United States from a national security threat country.

Probably top 3 episode from my perspective. His rise and resulting depth of knowledge and experience in only about 12 years is immense. Glad he at NSC too for a time.

Been waiting for you guys to have Holden on! In addition to being from the Kansas City area ( a special place in my heart as I met my wife there), his perspective on both Russian and Chinese intelligence is fascinating. Now he just needs to write a book! 👍🏻

@The Team House I really enjoyed this episode, but is there any chance you guys can have another FBI counterintelligence agent that can speak to investigations? Holden seems to have primarily dealt with supervisory and LEGAT roles. I would love more of the boots-on-the-ground perspective of FBI CI.

This was a good episode. I'm finally comfortable with the new set. It's a nice evolution. Holden Triplett sounds like a solid porn handle. But he's legit. I enjoyed hearing his nuanced views on the topics covered. It's the things that he was not able to talk about that scare me. I'm not sure how a smart fellow like Holden walks around day to day knowing what he knows. That's a heavy load. Thanks for pulling the curtain back a bit.

Not to Poo Poo any of your prior guests, but as a person who’s been watching a lot of your guys’ stuff in the past 2-3 months; to me, this has been one of the most fascinating interviews. By the way, you guys are aces. You think of the questions I’d think of while in the shower that night, ha!

Do you guys have a recommended diet, I'm 20 and wanna join the rangers but need to drop 40 lbs
@jerryj3047
@jerryj3047 Год назад
simple don't eat too much man, no side dishes with meat, and try a sauna . Army Rangers, as well as other soldiers, can vary from the height and weight charts if their body fat still meets the requirements. In general, soldiers must maintain no more than 20 percent body fat in the 17 to 20 age range and 22 percent if they are ages 21 to 27. average height and weight of an Army Ranger are 69 inches and 174 pounds. But They can give you an orange parachute.🤣🤣 When I joined SF I had around 6% body fat

You can safely ignore Jerry buddy- he’s a permanent fixture in the live chat of this channel and nobody really believes any of his Walter Mitty tales. If you are going to increase your activity levels from a pretty low baseline, consider adjusting your diet to incorporate more protein, lowering carbs to ensure your liver isn’t converting all those sugars to fat. Once you’re more active though your problem will be not eating enough to keep up with your calorific needs. Not knowing how active you already are, it’s hard to advise, but if you’re not already doing it then walk 10k a day. Other activities on top of that will get you in shape but 10k a day will eat fat and not murder your joints for the main strength/endurance work you do. If you want a challenge, try a 100 burpees a day. Basically do something that sucks once day.

@@jonathanr5238 You are absolutely right about who I Am... walking without a backpack won't do anything for him if he want to join rangers, fat is the last reserve for the body if he is using a lot of sugar he should change his diet also but what do I know I was just a cook you got me

I really liked that y'all brought up American mirror imaging of the rest of the world's political views. The Blob was high on its own supply in the 1990s, thinking everyone wanted to be like us, gambling the away the security of allies esp. in E Europe e.g. the 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances

I would like to know what status those get after leaving the military and join the CIA as contractors. Reason for asking is that those who rescued Goshn of Nissan fame were sent back to Japan to serve prison time. There story was that the CIA dropped them in the shit and were not interested in their case. Is this normal for the CIA disown their contractors.

it's strange I can find my phone (App)... but Stolen Cars cant be found??? and cars can be broken into by the THOUSANDS and sent overseas like its Alibaba or Amazon... where's the Technology KILL SWITCH??? or self-destruct button... maybe just lock up the brakes.... hi-larious if Insurance company would actually want to lower Annual FEES... or CAR companies would want to make their car Theft Proof... vs just buy another one.... and another... Cars dont need the key to STEAL... just plug in the Black Box and drive it away... why bother having a Chip in the Keyfob or 128 encryption if the car company only uses 10

Look I love David, he's a great guy but something he said about Russia kinda pissed me off, especially since I've been an IDP not long after the re-invasion war started and haven't been home in year and a half 'cos of f**king Russia. Anyway, David said something like "and rightfully so 'cos of their losses in ww2". Look no disrespect to Dave, but I have to wise him up, of the 27 million Soviet deaths in WW2, only half were "Russian" (that dumber in itself is dubious). the rest all the other Soviet republics, but as a proportion of their populations, Belarus lost over 25% of it's population and Ukraine over 16%, Russia was 3rd at 12%. - so why Russia "rightfully so" ? keeping in mind they compounded their own numbers by having NKVD blocking troops to shoot their own men who tried to retreat to fight another day.

50:55 "what happend in the Arab Spring in THEIR MIND that's chaos" it's weird because in our European's mind the interpretation of chaos seems to be the same. 51:00 "They believe that that's what the US is intentionally doing with its democracy spreading..." That's even more weird because we European in colaboration with the statistical data actually see exactly the same thing. You lost me here. You do not understand Russians exactly as you don't understand any human being with common sense.
