Alan, your compilations are so appreciated. As far as I can see, you're the only one who puts them together by subject, and you do that so well. It's so helpful to be able to listen by subject. And the calming music between them is always fittingly peaceful. I just can't thank you enough.
This feeling of being all alone is such a relief, Rupert says it is the peace of deep sleep, thats why I want to be alone all the time, always.. not only in sleep but all day long. I feel it in daytime... nothing happens and there is this feeling of warmth and happiness without a course, without a reason, Now I know what will be when 'death' arrives.. Peace! Only deeper and deeper experienced still... Oh happy days(happy death).🙂.... Ego or separated self is both the killer and the one who dies. We don't have to be afraid of the killer, he simply does not exist. The beauty thing is that we don't need to invent or believe that we are immortals, we only have to recognize it, being it!

Oh thank you so beautiful. I resonated so much with the last part, aunti dying, 90 plus just like my mom who recently died. I was not sad and I am not sad. Rather, grateful. And that is not on the basis of thoughts about what death is and what it implies. It is thanks to the shift. Emotions are here, but the experience of personhood, and personal death, is not. At another moment it may arise. But that too... ahhh so grateful!!!
I almost get giddy when I sink into little tidbits of understanding. Like for instance understanding would be the end of thought . You no longer have to think about it when you know . I’m not too worried about death. It’s the journey I’m trying to wrap myself around to become the most authentic experience I can have . To be love . I like that .
I don't want death or will it but I honestly feel happy and even excited by the idea of my body dying! Obviously I don't broadcast my thoughts about it because No one I know understands or knows me (how could they, I don't!) When my mum and dad , people I know well or beloved pets have died I feel sad, "aww I'm going to miss them it was nice to share life with them" but inside I feel happiness for them. I know they're free! If it was one of my children I can't say I'd feel the same, I really dont know ? I'm sure I'd still feel that sense of peace. hopefully I'll never know. There is one eternal Life experiencing itself now in infinite ways. We are all in the same place that we have always been having never moved or experienced anything except in our imagination. The Big Bang appears to have happened a long time ago in a place far away but the only place that anyone can find it is in their minds in the present. I have to revisit these thoughts often to remind myself of what is true but I don't fear death because if I see it coming I know that I will be reminded and if I don't see it coming I won't need to be reminded. I've seen it coming a couple times already and was excited to see what I would see but it moved on by. I think it's the same ocean we go into with waves always on the surface and we always see the wave that we choose to focus on. I think dying is much like checking out different seashells on the beach. I do wonder though what part of me feels the desire to give explanations to comfort others and if it's really more to comfort myself. I don't think it matters much everyone is on the same train but it does bother me greatly that so many are afraid of going to Hell themselves or afraid that someone else won't. That's what I'm trying to figure out what I should about and if I should continue to try to do anything. I look for advice in many Spiritual writings and get confused often about what is dogma and what is Truth. I think the Truth is found in what they all have in common which is definitely the Golden rule but particulars beyond this easily seen Truth, though often pretentiously denied, requires a lot of deciphering. Probably due to the prevalence of inquisiting minds historically. If I knew I was going to comment so long I would have indented once or twice. I'm probably the only one who will see it anyway. I can't wait till I'm enlightened, it'll free up a lot of my time. 🤗. ✌💞
I dont look forward to sleep. I struggle to sleep. I would stay awake all night but ill be exhausted eventually. My existence is torment. Im not scared to die im just unsure whats next is it better or worse. I dont want to forget my parents. 😮
When you finally get to sleep, is there any problem there? Could waking dreaming and sleeping be a model of reality? Waking is equal to life, dreaming is the unraveling of mind and sleeping is the pause before the reformation of another mind. Is it possible that minds that have been connected in one life connect again in another life? I don't have absolute answers but what I have presented above feels somehow right to me 🙏❣️
Respectfully, how can someone feel depressed/devastated or deeply sad after experiencing the realization of Truth? Realization should get rid of that ‘someone’. Through Self enquiry the sufferer is completely dissolved and then death is perceived as another phenomenal event in the dynamic realm.
Thing is Alan, Rupert when we fall asleep at night we do it expecting to wake up again. If we were told 'right next time you fall asleep you will never wake up again' I think none of us would want to go to sleep. You say 'It wasn't you in deep sleep, it was something else/pure awareness and thats why we don't remember it but isn't what you are saying just the same thing as the Athiests say 'i.e when you're dead, your dead?' If that is the case why the need for all the teachings why not just tell everyone 'when you're dead, you're dead there is nothing else, just death?'
Because in experience what I really am (awareness) never dies or is born. We have to be prepared to really get to know what we are for this to become obvious. No conceptual thinking will ever work this out.
@@alanneachell9092 Thank you for your quick reply. Is it I AM. The I Am is like a point of energy that becomes {things] in order to experience? It is difficult to describe, I might be tempted to say something like.there is an infinitely small point within me that has burst outwards into a world (no more solid than a dream world) but where I have a body and mind? Even though in actuality I AM my entire world observing it from within the body. And when I die, death represented by deep sleep is a sort of empty nothing but bliss default position and from there I become again then die then become etc, etc? Is this kind of how it is?
@@ianspence2010 Yes, the I Am is the first manifestation of You. Manifestation is a coloring of You. There seems to be a movement of objects including bodies which come and go but You are the silent, non moving presence. Birth and death are for objects only. You are prior to the I Am.

Until there is direct experience of the non dual nature of reality, it's appropriate to make concessions. Glimpses or mere understanding ain't gonna cut it.
@@alanneachell9092 Because of his concessions, his teaching is not pure..therefore I wrote "dualistic teaching"....Read the commentaries. His followers are praising him for the best "non dual" teacher...they do not recognize that his teaching is full of concessions. One drop of poison makes the whole glass of water undrinkable

@@valeriemoloto3829 I literally hold the person's image in mind. It's not our place to dictate what should happen that's up to the universe. The intention for good is already present otherwise we wouldn't be praying.
Very well made compilation. But I don't think Spira really addressed the question wether it's just all in the brain. And also the constant referring - like Ramana Maharshi - to the state of deep sleep seems to lack consideration of the fact that most of us aren't aware of our exystence in that state. So if death is just like deep sleep we would in fact be annihilated.
I don’t understand how a non dual understanding which has been purportedly manifested in this teacher, Rupert Spira, could be devastated by someone’s death (the friend of his son in the last exchange). Is being devastated by someone else’s death still a part of being enlightened or does true enlightenment remove the fear of death, not only of one’s own but that of others? Why would one study oneself to seek enlightenment if devastation over someone’s death was not part of transcending dualism? If there is no transcendence of devastation then why would one be motivated to understand?
@Jeanne JeanneL - You conflated fear with sadness. Rupert said he was saddened by the death of his son's friend. The flow of life goes on after the recognition of our true nature, which is peace. "Enlightenment" is simply being our true self - peace - in any circumstance/experience in the flow of life, including the death of a loved one and naturally feeling sad about it. Dualism (circumstance/experience) appears within, and is made of, non-dual consciousness/peace. Transcendance is all-pervading, non-dual peace, untouched by circumstance - in the world, not of it.
