THE FEARLESS FLYERS /// Simon F15 buy vinyl → vuuulf.com/fearless-II Nate Smith - drums Joe Dart - bass guitar Cory Wong - guitar, composer Mark Lettieri - baritone guitar Jack Stratton - mixing, steadicam Ryan Lerman - engineer
He's straight up wearing a leather jacket for (what I assume) are the first couple songs on the first EP. Looked pretty sweaty by Barbara and ditched it for the rest of the session.
@@tommydebourbon4192 Right on! Vulf is amazing, I'm a huge fan. I've even got a Joe Dart bobblehead in my studio ;-) Excited to see them live for a second time at the Greek in Berkeley in July!
Can we talk about the cinematography for a second. I know some of it is done to comedic effect, but it just makes you feel like you're hanging out with these goons
Weirdly a lot of Fearless Flyers material is repackaged Cory Wong tunes (this one is overt, but Introducing the Fearless Flyers is just Lunchtime, and Flyers Direct is Overture (Live in MPLS)
god i love the renditions of cory’s songs it just become so tighter and funkier with fearless and then his own songs become even bolder and bigger it’s so cooollll
So no one has written it yet .. but it's got a similar vibe and sonic texture to Stanley Clarke's 'School Days' ... and other songs of his of that era .. very funky and fabulous.
Incredible once again. PLEASE dear Vulf gang, drop a line to my other favourite musician Thundercat for some sort of a collab. I can't imagine him turning down a potential session of such intense love making.
Well Joe and another guy named Federico Malaman did have a bass off on Dean Town and it's pretty hard for Thundercat to compete (for how much I love all 3 of them), but I want to see that too
I really gotta say, this is the first song by the flyers that I LOVE until I DIE. now I’m really excited to see you guys with Vulfpeck in New York this year
I hated the distorted percussion sounds, whether it's gating or reverb it sounds awful. Mark and Joe's fills are sweet but overall this is a poor rendition of "Simon." There's no accounting for taste, de gustibus non est disputandum, chacun à son goût. I.e. it's a waste of time wondering why people downvote videos.
You really really really NEED to come back in France please !!! I know it can be "very very complicated" but please I have to see you once in my life !
i couldn't put my finger on why this one in particular kept getting stuck in my head, and then i saw someone on reddit mention that one of the chord progressions is straight out of a pete's dragon song. *this comment is mainly for when i come back around to this video and my goldfish brain wonders the same thing all over again.
