Physical abuse causes mental abuse too, and mental abuse can lead to self harm which is also a form of physical abuse. I kind of got the vibe you were trying to make it out that mental abuse towards men is worse than physical abuse towards women. Comments like 'bruises heal quicker' (paraphrasing) gave me that vibe. That route is not a good one to take for you or anyone that's listening.

Mental health should be taken seriously

When men lose the motive in life to live and stress and depression takes over, suicide creeps into their mind When life gets too hard, it causes mental harm on the men, when even their own family tells them to do better it pushes them down even further

Since men react less emotionally it is upon us to stand up when in need. A healthy society needs masculine man when necessary. If we would all start crying nothing will get done. There is nothing wrong with crying. We just have to “man up” for a while and have to postpone our crying sessions for after the hardships. Hopefully by then the women have got there emotions in check, because we need them as well.

From personal experience, i feel like woman are more emotional in tuned and men are more logically in tuned. Like for woman it will be easier to interact with other on an emotional/individual level, kind of makes sense since they give birth to a human, while men set aside their emotion and are more decisive and think logically. That is why you see more men in leadership/authoritative roles because they have to decide whats best for the overall group, not an individual. Both emotional and logical function are important to developing a society. I am a guy by the way. Just my two cents.

Take this with a grain of salt because this is just my own personal perspective, but whenever I heard the term toxic masculinity, I never got the impression that it was saying that masculinity in of itself is toxic. Rather I think it's referring to a type of hyper-masculinity that takes it to the extreme of being harmful, like not being able to cry or be emotional. Masculinity in of itself is good, being strong, a protector, etc. are all good traits to have. Femininity is also good; and I don't doubt that women can be pushed to toxic extremes in those regards either; but being nurturing, sensitive, and tender are all good traits to have. Neither are expressions of weakness.

the point Mark was making about teaching men how to be men is quite right and should have been given more discussion, it includes teaching them not to commit suicide over a relationship because this is really weak, i know it is harsh to say that but it is the truth. As for why men generally commit suicide i believe because they have to meet a lot of expectations and have the need to make certain achievements to feel fulfillment which is not the case for some of them. failure and emptiness of soul are key triggers for suicide.

The reason why women can move on quickly is because they have more options, they have men lining up to have their turn and it fills that void all that attention, validation and using the next guy to boost her self esteem. This is actually fact as I heard in one lecture that humans have around 24 emotions [I need to jog my memory], and if one emotion from it missing or going extreme that made a person abnormal. For example : if you cry, but if you cry all the time then it's look abnormal like you are in depression or something. And if you laugh and laugh all the time you seems like mad to others it's look abnormal hope I conveyed what I want to say. In the end, just maintain a balance between your emotions like cry but come to normal and laugh but come back to normal just like pendulum. Like going To and fro but comes to the centre.

May Allah protect all human beings 🙏 from committing to major sin and improve all people with mental illness and make others more aware to support people who have suicidal thoughts to prevent this or them from doing this. Its better to show empathy and trust to those who need support to stop them doing this bad action.

I am not a mofty and I'm not doing a fatwa. But people who commit suicide do to mental illness....are mentally Ill so basically they are not in their right stat of mind. So based on what they went through maybe they don't go to jahanam? I personally was mentally Ill and I contemplated suicide for more than 5 years, but thanks to ALLAH I didn't do it and my mental state got better. And looking at it from the outside in with a diffrent perspective, I was completely out of my mind, it was as if something was covering my eyes and ears from any logic which is not to kill my self as their is no coming back from it. And my thoughts where compressed and narrowed to only killing my self. Now I'm half a year away from any such thoughts and my Iman is stronger than ever.

As a woman I can say physical abuse is nothing compared to verbal and mental abuse. Some women are really good at it and many have destroyed men, even in this day an age we do it to women ourselves we put each other down. Not saying physical abuse is ok, but mental abuse lasts longer and is harder to get over.

I personally think the size of suicide is due to lack of identity and responsibility. People don't have character anymore they are just all a large herd and have nothing special about themselves. Women aren’t stronger mentally imo. The reason why there is high suicide rate is in my opinion the following: Men have to bare on the shoulders to be the provider, the leader the ‘strong one’ which means what? So you have to get yourself in a position career wise and happiness wise in order to provide these things. Men are the breadwinners no two ways about it, even though women are working, I accept that. So if you don’t have these things in place, you put yourself under pressure, especially if you start doing these things later in your life, it’s harder to get ahead.

Mental illnesses is something that I pray to Allah SWT that no one should face that. I myself use to think to kill myself and the reasons were my husband and lack of his support when my daughter was diagnosed with autism.
