Trying to decide between this and a PRS NF 53. Your demo is convincing me the Fender might be the right choice. I did get to try a 53 and the neck is fairly chunky compared to the Fender.

I know everyone asks you this question but can you give me any advice or insight on honing my skills? Is it just practice practice practice or can you give me wise words of experience to make the journey toward being an accomplished guitarist a bit easier, maybe a bit faster? Take lessons with a reputable instructor. And yes, practice! That's a hell of a first guitar(if it is your first). Having a good quality guitar can really help. It doesn't have to be this expensive, as a used Yamaha Pacifica, Ibanez RG, etc will all be excellent to play. Although I've always found that a beautiful guitar begs to be played, and you'll practice more. Good luck and just have fun with it!
You bought a 2500$ guitar and you don't know how to play? Wow. Anyways, for technique practice consistently. For your ear do ear training and transcribe stuff. Analyze what others have written. Also keep it fun by learning your favorite songs.
Check out the channel From Music. Lots of tabs on songs and licks played concurrently with the music. It's helped a lot these last 6 months to try a new song a few times a week. It's like a wrestling match, you get your a$$ beat, but eventually you start to do the a$$ whooping. Easy cowboy chord songs help you learn how to sing and play. Joanne Cooper has lots of play along chord songs posted on YT as well. Eventually, the experience of life starts to shine. The good, the bad the ugly, starts to flow from the soul.

I have both the strat and tele pro II. They're absolutely lovely. I don't think there's anything you're truly missing out on. Locking tuners, maybe? The ones on the pro never were an issue to me + you can change them easily. Contour heel? Pro II has it too... Ah yes, stainless steel frets, that might be a thing? Otherwise it's just a more fancy looking guitar with noiseless pick ups. The pro II hasn't got noiseless pick ups. In general: It's probably a tad nicer finished, but the pro II has everything you need, don't worry
Different neck shape, smoother neck finish, painted headstock, stainless steel medium jumbo frets, noiseless pickups, better bridge/term bar, even more contours, ash body, TUSQ nut, locking tuners, compound radius of 10”-14”, and I would assume better quality/quality care. Love everything about this except the pickups which I can just replace. Oh and for this color I’d replace the ugly pick guard for a mint one. I also tend to hate painted headstocks but this one actually grew on me.
Yes, these guitars are routed for Nashville config. Just need to find the compatible pickguard. The neck pickup route can also host a full-sized humbucker.
