Great video! I'm not sure, but I think you might be a George Lynch fan?? lol I've been a Lynch fan for years, when someone introduced me to Dokken - and I've been hooked since.
That is one special yellow. Building my own Fenders for the last couple of decades, I appreciate all the fine points in the Custom Shops.I'm not sure if I prefer Fender to Nash at this stage , who also do some really outstanding work. Over time, I've come to appreciate some of the features on Ibanez and some other modern designs.Ironically, it was the older Charvel's and Schector's, - which seem to have really changed in a not positive way over the years, -that initially turned by head .I'll always prefer nitro and vintage output pickups, but I'm glad that Fender offer more modern neck specs now.
Good on you for honoring your parents.I have a '62 Reissue made in 1991, that has turned nearly as yellow as yours is. Mine is not as beat-up as yours, but still looks very cool.
Interesting video. So will Fender provide the shop travel sheet to anyone who calls them? Suhr just sent me their setup specs so it's helpful to hear you explain that their pickup height spec is the starting point - 9/64 - 6/64, 10/64 - 8/64 & 7/64 - 5/64 (neck to bridge pu). Setup beginner here.
Good for you! Fender is very good at customer service, as is Suhr. They will provide the traveler if it has one. Good to have those specs but remember… they are starting points. They ship at that to maintain consistency but as a player feel free to tweak to your liking. It’s all about feel. Hit me up if you have any setup questions. Check out my other videos… there’s some other setup morsels in them. You’re gonna save a lot of money!
