Let's give a major shout-out to the guy who let Doug DeMuro review his car and gave him permission to drive and have fun with it, even though it only has like 15 miles on the odometer. Bravo, good sir. Also, I'm disappointed Doug never touched on whether that air slot actually did anything. Edit: holy shit, over 2,000 likes in a day? I’ve never had a comment this liked before lol.

@EEvtg
@EEvtg 2 года назад
It wouldn't have made sense for them to get rid of the passenger door, climate vents etc on such a low production car. I hear less than 1/3 of the Monzas are SP1s. It doesn't have the second hump though, so it looks much cooler imo.
@Glanthor88
@Glanthor88 2 года назад
@@EEvtg i mean it costs 2 mils, that's the least they could do that they commit to the one seater setup that they get rid off everything which reminds the car to a two seater and everything which a racecar doesn't need. For me this car doesn't make any sense. Like the AC too, why. pointless weight... either commit to the one seater racecar setup or don't.

@therealPelo

@@EEvtg I get what you're saying, and I understand that it's easier and cheaper to reuse the same body, but being such a low production and $2 mil car, you'd think they would spend a little more time to make it as refined as possible. I just find it super lazy when supercar manufacturers build these amazing unique cars and yet still cut so many corners. Like the other guy said, if you're willing to remove the passenger side, at least commit to it fully. They are willing to make a new rear panel to remove the second hump, but not a new side(?) panel to make the entire thing look like whole, instead of "yeah just remove the seat and put a panel over it to cover that area" regardless it's a cool car!

It's basically just the passenger compartment of the SP2 without the seat and it looks like it also doesn't have the door pull installed, so possibly the passenger door isn't truly functional. It's not like you can convert and SP1 to and SP2 just by adding a seat, since it lacks the roll bar for the passenger seat. Weird how they actually installed that beautiful leather glove box on a car where it will never be accessed.

I couldn't wait for you to get this car. I live in Missoula Montana and I found it interesting that you informed us that it isn't street legal as I actually seen one on the road in the city. When I did I had no idea what I was seeing as I was a few cars back so I only seen the rear of it but I count myself very lucky to have seen this remarkable machine given it's rarity!

I got a chance to see these cars at Pebble Beach and they were stunning. Simple curvaceous forms and an open cockpit speaks to another motoring time. This vintage racer homage doesn't require the latest tech of the newer models either. Bridge gap with a fully capable platform and enjoy the open road or track in a way few will experience. Kudos Ferrari.

Truly a beautiful car though like you said, I’d probably go for the SP2. Buying this car means owning a place in Europe where I can drive it on the streets. I have to imagine the owner is a “car guy” like the rest of us. The fact that he intends to take it onto the track speaks volumes. Props to him for sharing this special car and for telling you to flog it. I can’t imagine having the money to be able to purchase and afford all the ancillary expenses. If this was filmed in his garage then he’s really a car guy.

I am intrigued by the wheels which appear to be almost a fan which is an idea I had several years ago to pull air out from underneath the car build wheels that were similar to a turbine or a fan blade reducing high pressure under the car and cooling the brakes. Ultimately they would be made out of carbon fiber to save weight.

10:41 - The fact that there's a blank button in the center console annoys me. It's understandable if it's seen in a much more mass produced car, but an automobile with a limited run of only hundreds for the globe and also being sold for 2 million bucks each, you'd think that they would at least be able to design that one single piece of panel to have a layout that favors keeping it clean and free of any blanks.
