I really like how tpd can admit when they don't like or don't enjoy something. So many RU-vidrs are so focused on showing how amazing their lives are and they don't show when inevitably things aren't that good. The authenticity of TPD makes their videos more enjoyable because they are relatable and real, so thanks for showing the downtimes as well as the good times!

I'm not gonna wade into the general debate about tipping/not tipping but I used to work in a restaurant that shared tips in a sensible way, and it made for a less selfish "I only care about my tables/my customers" and more of a team effort. If you think of it in the sense that if your sever gives you great service, you are tipping that individual server, but since they have the backup of the other staff/the kitchen, they're then sharing it on and that's fine.

Tipping in America got extra weird after covid. During covid a lot of extra tips were given to try to support the service industry. Before you know it, everyone has a tip jar out. Now that things are back to normal the jars (and the screens) stayed and it's gotten out of hand. The rules are still $1 per alcoholic drink and 12%-20% for a sit down meal. Everything else, feel free to ignore.

Don’t be worried about not tipping when there’s no service, chances are you’ll never see them again so what does it matter!

Canadian here. Our tipping culture is the same as the US. Personally when I walk up to a bar and buy a drink I still tip. Usually $1-$2 a drink. And always 20% when at a sit down bar.

Also as a restaurant server. I tip out to the bartenders and kitchen staff. I keep 75%. Kitchen gets 10% and bar 25%. Thankfully in Canada restaurants still have to adhere to minimum wages unlike the US where restaurant staff get paid WELL under minimum wage because they are expected to make their money in tips (so unfair)

I've driven in pretty much every major American city and LA is the absolute worst. I beg you to film some videos east of the Mississippi someday! The vibes and the people are so much better than California. It kills me to think your viewers might think all Americans are like coachella influencers. 😂 Also, remember that each state has its own rules so seat belts are required in the back in about half the states. Best to always double check the rules as you cross borders because it can get complicated to remember.
