Funny thing that he didn't get it, hated it, didn't understand the character but gave it the best shot he could. He's doing this scene thinking, wtf is this shit.
“I don’t like warriors. Too narrow minded, no subtlety, and, worse, they fight for hopeless causes. Honor, hmm. Honor’s killed millions of people, hasn’t saved a single one. I’ll tell you what I do like though, a killer. A dyed in the wool killer. Cold blooded, clean, methodical, and thorough. Now a real killer, when he picked up the ZF-1, would have immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.”
My family and I have watched this movie so many times it’s embarrassing. Any time we want someone to turn the lights on, we always say Aziz, light. And this has been going on since 1997. This movie has aged so well.
Zorg is one of the best villain in movies history. The great Gary Oldman performance with this character reminds me his sadic Norman Stansfield in León, but more grotesque. Anyway I think that The Fifth Element is the true masterpiece of Luc Besson
ugh I googled Besson because I wanted to check the rest of his filmography beyond the cult hits and his entry on wikipedia left a sour taste, I'll never watch Leon The Professional the same way again
The 90’s had the perfect mix of films. -Humor -Action/Adventure -Great dialogue -Tension and suspense -Outstanding movie soundtrack The Fifth Element is a prime example of this. As is The Mummy with Brendan Fraser. And let’s not forget Rush Hour yet another 90’s classic film!
Zorg is so funny and iconic that we all just overlook how his plan makes no sense. How is he going to profit after the evil sphere thing blows up the whole universe?
Zorg thinks he'll profit from the deal (either directly or because he will be protected from it, probably both). He's convinced himself destruction and chaos is morally justified, and the Great Evil is just more destruction and chaos. Zorg is such an isolated narcissist he does not even consider there will be consequences for him.
@talthan But my point is that reasoning self evidently makes no sense and is so obvious that it strains belief to think anyone would buy it. But it's also true it doesn't matter in the moment because the character is so much fun
@@EbonAvatar The obvious conclusion to draw then, is that Zorg is clinically insane - he's become so consumed by his greed and self-obsession that he's no longer thinking rationally. This would also rather nicely explain his manic energy, short temper and "eccentric" mannerisms as further evidence that he's losing his grip on reality.
The simplest answer (other than a story plot hole) is that Zorg just doesn't know. He's been contacted by a mysterious entity that offers astronomical rewards in return for a few objects secured. There's no reason to think he would have any clue what the stones are or what cosmic consequences hang in the balance. All he "knows" is the massive pay day he's been promised.
@@stiimuli Exactly. The straightforward answer is that Zorg doesn't know or believe the consequences will affect him. He likely thinks its just one more 'bad hombre' in a galaxy looking to cut a deal, not a threat to existence itself.
watching this in the theater back when it was released just as Zorg goes to fire, a lightning strike killed a bunch of equipment in the projection booth and stopped the movie
J'ai adoré ce film..et je l adore encore ..quand il passe je le re ..re.. regarde...tous les acteurs sont géniaux..les dialogues ..les musiques..la diva...liloo bien sûr... Bruce Willis...etc ..une grande réussite
No force users, nah, literally no one, would expect that much firepower and versatility in a single small unit... Especially the homing bullets and the netlauncher
Actually, Leeloo does meet Zorg near the end of the movie when he goes to the diva's room. She retreats to the ceiling vents and Zorg blasts through them injuring her. Korben is the one that never meets Zorg upfront. There was a close encounter where Korben's group in leaving the hotel through a docking bay entrance and Zorg was returning through an exit that was right next to the door they used.
Ein toller Film. Ich habe ihn im Kino gesehen. Zork war eine Mischung aus Göbels, Hitler und Görring. Wenn ich es noch richtig aus einem Interview von Garry Oldman mitbekommen habe.
I absolutely love the editing of this, "this case is empty"☹ HAHAHAHAHAHA😆 empty?🤨 empty the opposite of full...this case IS SUPPOSED TO BE FULL, anyone care to explain 🤨 We then get said explanation.
¿Es éste el doblaje original? Yo creo que no. (It's light...) = Es ligero... [hablando del peso del arma] ESA ES LA TRADUCCIÓN CORRECTA. "ES LUZ" es un burdo error de traducción que ningún traductor de doblaje cometería.
