Dudes have literally died in the cage and in the ring while fighting, it hasn't done shit to stop those sports...because it rarely happens and hasn't helped increase or decrease popularity, it just happens...And saying that fighters aren't elite athletes like NFL and NBA athletes is really insulting to fighters. The elite athletes of fighting, are incredible athletes. The Diaz bros run triathlons, how many fucking NFL or NBA athletes are doing that shit as training? Come on Schaub, stop talking shit. A guy like George Saint Pierre, elite athlete, the guy was amazing. Just because their sports are different doesn't mean they aren't elite. It's like saying all nba players could hang in a fight, of course they couldn't they wouldn't last a round against an elite cage fighter. Very small group would be able to fight. Especially modern day nba guys, those dudes act hard, but fuck those dudes flopping all over the place and turned that sport into soccer...Being elite at fighting is possibly the highest level of athlete on the planet. I mean they are training for a fight. What other sport is as serious as that? Players don't go into an NBA game with the knowledge that they might get their ass whooped in public tonight for their profession. Worst they get is some nasty words from nasty fans, ooh tough sport lmao, there is no way that with Lebrons mindset and the mindset of these nba superstars that any of them would make good fighters, they just don't have that in them. That is why they are nba players. Even if fighting paid better than NBA. I don't Durant beating anyone in his weight class lmfao, that dude would break a bone or something if he tried fighting, he is too fragile, Jon Jones would snap Durant in half jesus. Some others that aren't elite might actually be good at fighting, because it doesn't matter about being elite at basketball for fighting. It goes both ways. The body is trained a certain way, but being an elite athlete can come in many forms. They are all elite in their own sport basically. But saying one is not elite in comparison is really stupid and insulting. Especially considering that he admits it's harder to be a fighter, and anyone would rather do another sport because it would be easier. So you think they aren't training like an elite athlete? To avoid getting humiliated in public and taking a beating? Those guys probably outwork all the athletes in the nba and nfl, there is more at stake...what would you train more for? a fight in six months or a game of basketball lmao
