Joe Rogan was 100% correct in what he said. You're the one who wanted to talk about your fight on your podcast and Joe isn't the type of guy who will let you talk deluded bullshit. Is it possible that if Brendan continued fighting, he could have found a way to never get knocked again? Is it possible that he could have gone on to become a champion, and could have been worth 10 million by now? Is it possible that he could have continued fighting without sustaining any more brain trauma as well as have been doing the podcasts all together at the same time? Who knows? Joe Rogan is a wise man that has followed hundreds of fighters careers, but he cant predict the future.

Brian keeps saying that Brendan and Matt Mitrione are the only fighters that he can think of that came to MMA later in life after playing another sport most of their lives. Travis Brown is older than Schaub by a year and came to MMA a year after Schaub and prior to MMA he played basketball. Travis Brown is another perfect example of what Brian is talking about.

This describes both Brendan and the person who just beat him. Seems like it should have been an obvious connection to make.

Brendan's in serious denial about his ability. I agree 100% with Rogan on every point. Watching Brendan is hard because of how bad he looks in every aspect of the game. He's way to optimistic about how well he's done and how good he looks. Joe was spot on with his analysis of Brendan's stand up capability and I get so tired of Schaub being his biggest fan. Honestly, I was thinking that he would be cut by the UFC. He's just not good. And for him to be hurt because someone had the balls to tell him face to face how terrible he is and how Callen isn't a good "best friend" really puts me off to him and this podcast. Please Brendan.... Just stop.

Well, that was five years ago, and I am so proud of the transition Brendan has made. He is a much stronger, more successful man today than he was back then. Bryan has also grown. My favorite moment of the original rogan podcast is when Brendan looks at joe and tells him he is going to fight again. After having his heart ripped out in public, instead getting pissed of, going delusional or walking out, the man still look at joe with almost child's eyes and defiantly says "im going to fight again joe 100%". That was beautiful. You can tell how much fighting means to him and how much he likes and respects joe. Its like he cant accept going out without getting joe(and his best friends) to look at him as an elite fighter. Felt almost like a father and son situation there. lol Brendan is a sweetie hahahahah

He's NOT an elite fighter. He has basic skills for MMA. He is NOT as good as he think he is. That's ok, but he has to be honest with himself about his skill level. I don't see him beating Werdum, Overeem, Cain, Struve, Dos Santos, Miocic, Hunt. He has to be realistic. I am very impressed with his heart, it's very hard to have your truths challenged, especially in a public forum by some one you love. If he trains more technique and fights a little less he has a chance to learn and get better. He has to learn better footwork, better strikes, better timing, more fluidity. He has to become a better striker or he WILL NOT become HWC.

@@gstylez0107 See I don't think his career is going through the roof either. I just simply think he had to force himself in another "profession" since he had close to nothing else. He tries too hard and I just think he's liked because of those that surround him and give him the "comedian pass" but it's better than having brain damage at the end of the day.

What Joe did is the definition of what a friend is. It's a tough thing, and so much respect goes out to Brendan for being honest about how bad he felt about it. No one I know would be that honest and treat it in the right way. Talking about it is the best thing to do. Way too many friendships are lost because someone felt bad because something someone else said but it was said in complete love. So much respect to everyone for sharing this and being so honest about everything! :D

Rogan is cool but he really did go much further than he needed to with his criticism of Brendan's fight game. It's as if he couldn't stop himself, once he started it was like the floodgates opened and he basically slaughtered Brendan for a solid hour. What I don't get is how he so badly missed the social cue's from Brendan and Callen to stop the onslaught. They were basically begging him to stop without actually saying it. It was actually really hard to watch. I hope it gives Brendan fuel for the fire rather than dampening his spirits.

What was Joe trying to accomplish with his criticism? I personally knew nothing about Schaub before hearing the podcast and to me he portrayed Brandon as an inevitable loser who should just quit before he gets hurt. Regardless if it was honest or warranted, true friends don't put each other on blast like that in front of a large audience. Now every time I see him fight Ima think "he has no chance". Joe is not Dana White, and has no business messing with someone's career like that.

I think Rogan, as a friend of his, a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, a ex-martial arts champion and a long time fight commentator probably knows better than 95 percent of people ,including you and I ,wether or not a fighter can compete at the highest levels. I agree the conversation should have been private but he acted as a friend and spoke the truth. Brendan has been knocked out several times recently and for some reason still believes he can compete with Cain. He just hasn't got it anymore and if he thinks he can beat the best he will probably get seriously hurt.

He's telling Brendan, you have so much potential in so many arenas, don't get so caught up in fighting, you damage the parts of yourself that really represent your future. He's been knocked out a few times now, and he's no spring chicken, especially after his football career. I think it speaks volumes, that Schaubs own brother agreed.
