+KS R yeah because he always looks at things from danas perspective and not a fans which can get annoying because a majority of people could careless about the promotional side they just wanna hear his personal opinion.
Immediate rematches are bullshit... So basically you're saying that from now on, you have to beat the champion twice to become champion??? That's dead wrong.
nugg lett You're making my point. Cain DOES NOT deserve a rematch. Werdum smoked him. The UFC lately has been giving a lot of "champs" rematches because they spent a lot of money on marketing them as the best in the world. Then when their favorite poster boy/girl gets their ass whooped, they're quick to give them a 2nd chance. If you lose your belt, tough shit. Work your way back and get better. Time's change. Fighters get old and new fighters get better. Unless the fight is a war and VERY close, immediate rematches are in fact, BULLSHIT. The current best fighter in the world should always be the champion, not the most popular or marketable. Aldo got knocked out cold. Frankie Edgar deserves his shot now.
52:45 No Conor got his stance from Gunnar ... Gunnar started out in Karate and Conor started out as a boxer if you watch Conor's older fights he stood like a boxer. But that boxing stance in MMA the lead leg is too exposed for takedowns and kicks. So after Kavanagh brought Gunnar in from Iceland he and Conor started training together and you can slowly see Conor begin to inherit a more Karate style of fighting. Up on the toes, bouncy and loose. Watch Gunnar's old fights
The Kobe discussion was fascinating. Especially since it's now easier to see that Kobe's relentless work ethic, his need to win and the way he treats people is in many ways not really deliberate. If you listen to the interview about his childhood in Italy etc, you get the impression that he is a guy that has learned this idea that he, as a human being, is only worth as much as his success. And he probably had some difficult times relating to kids in a foreign country at that age. You can also see how much he struggled lately when he wasn't the performer anymore that he once was. He couldn't age gracefully, because he's so dependent on defining his self-esteem based on being a high-level performer. I guess he's having a genuine midlife-crisis. You could also see how glad he seemed to relate to some guys who have a similar work ethic, but are more at ease with themselves, like Pau or Dirk. It's almost like he secretly hopes to be more like them. I think Kobe is different from MJ in that manner. MJ is more of a genuine slightly sociopathic guy. Kobe's obsession seems to result more from insecurity and a need to emulate that greatness.
+IFINALBOSS Except that his two losses are at 55. I like Conor but you fan boys are so unrealistic. He would be an average if not small fighter at 55 and think of how much more competition he would face. Khabib, Cerrone, RDA. I think his best shot would be against Pettis. Like any fighter he will at some point be beaten and it's much more likely to happen at 55.
+muhammed nanai McGregor wins because he is bigger then anyone in his division and he moves better then anyone in his division. Cowboy would be the perfect match for Conor to lose.
I'm glad Shaub brought that point up about the Rose vs Paige fight! It made me so sick that all people talked about was "how tough was paige", instead of talking about how Rose fucking OWNED her.
Can you guys fix the audio a bit, it fluctuates. I have to turn up the sound when you guys move from the mic and then when you yell into the mic it breaks my eardrums and I need to get surgery.
Wish these guys would just make their own RU-vid channel and upload these videos on there. Why the hell does FOX have to be involved? They already have an audience and it'd be nice to not have to scroll through the list of uploads to find their podcast.
Probably get paid a hefty sum to stay on Fox. The question is whether they would have enough RU-vid subscribers to pay more than fox already pays them.
Conor already signed a new deal. He told Ariel Helwani in a post 194 interview that the UFC and him came to an agreement and signed the contract. Dana doesn't want the details getting out because other fighters will be jealous which can cause problems in their own contract negotiations.
I think Brendan is right. Many questions will be answered after this weeks title fight and there are some men in the UFC begging right now that Cowboy wins this week.
Dolce Whey you make me feel so Gay!..When I say "Gay" I don't mean like "Haaaaaaay!"..Dolce Whey You make me feel so Gay..When I say "Gay" I mean happy like "YAY!!!"
COMPLETELY AGREE!!!!!! Aldo DESERVES A REMATCH!! Conor did kick his ass... that was no accident... that was quality, technical and the result of years of preparation. But, After a 10 year winning streak, Aldo must get a rematch.
Aldo looked like 10% difference in his body type which is not unusual since there are no IV and he last fought more than a year ago. Put some real speculation into Derek Brunson or Erick Silva.
Ep 106 was funny "Bill Cosby looks like a burnt turtle without a shell" lol👍🐢😂😂😂. Thank god you 2 love birds👬 decided to do standup together. Really enjoyed the Mcgregor/Aldo fight along w/Weidman/Rockhold no doubt it was the 2 best fights of the night. I do hope they eventually get to have a rematch w/each other. I was going to get my dad for Christmas five four stuff, but nothing would fit him he looks like BurtReynolds w/ a RoyNelson gut, they do have some nice clothes no doubt. Here are my picks for tomorrow- Jury- Diaz- Overeem- CerroneHope all of you have a very Merry Christmas F&TK army and the 2 podcast monsters!! enjoy and be happy!🎄🎁🎅😁
The only thing Conor would have to worry about at 55 is the grappling of the bigger fighters. Conor has better striking then anyone in that division, but if he fought Pettis, I think he'd get tapped. I'd love to see Conor fight Pettis or Ferguson before getting that title shot.
Paige did show a ton of heart though. And guys do quit in the octagon all the time when faced with immense pressure. Watch Rockhold vs Machida and even Rogan thinks Machida quit.
Jose's body does look way different. He looks smaller and softer than he did in Mendez 2. At the face offs before the first round starts, there's a big contrast. Conor can get in Cowboys head fairly easily i think though. It wouldnt be too much of a fight. Conor's so overwhelmingly alpha male dominant with his shit talking, I think he wins a lot of fights before he gets into the octagon. If someone is constantly getting the better of you in verbal exchanges, especially with a mic and in front of thousands of ppl, your mind gets used to losing to that person and subconsciously it effects your ability to view yourself winning once you finally get in there and fight.
+PrecisionWrittens I disagree... maybe. I hope (emphasis on the word hope) Cowboy learned from the Nate Diaz fight and this time won't get to emotionally invested in all the shit talking. If so, I think he has a real shot at winning the belt. Only time will tell. It should be one hell of a fight though.
+PrecisionWrittens There were threads on mma forums (such as Sherdog) where they put up pics from his past 4 fights in the exact same pose looking EXACTLY THE SAME. I know Joe Rogan was saying he was looking deflated in the leaked audio, but comparing the pics he literally looks the same.
1:08:15 when someones calling a person a name, which is usually done automatically or spontaneously or from below, the reason they are using what ever word they are using is because they identify with that idea of a person within themselves and are unsure of who or what they really are
52:50 Callen im a big fan but you have no idea what your talking about. Conor strikes in the stance the way he does because of Gunnar, Conor emulated his style they have been friends and training partners for 7 years.
Imagine Cowboy wins and they do Conor vs Cowboy for 155 title in Ireland with Aldo vs Edgar as co main for next shot when Conor moves back down for UFC 200.
I'm taking Brendan's word on this new testing affecting many previous dominant Brazilian fighters. I think RDA will be the next to fall because of this texting and Conor Cowboy will happen for lightweight title!
Take a shot every time Brendan cuts off Bryan. You'll fucking die. We know what he's like at 155 because he was a champ at 155. We haven't seen him at 155 in the UFC. 🍺🍺🍺
You guys are giving too much to 10lbs (4kg). Let me remind you of Dustin who was at 145, he is taller then Conor and got KO by one, not so precise, punch.
Londos1995 I may be wrong but the fact that he said something along the lines of "knocked the F out" and the fact it was a big fighter I figured it's mendes
155 is stacked but no dominate champ - Conor will beat them all. Tony's chin is floating in the air. Pettis is terrible against tough pressure fighters. Alvarez, Johnson are easy fights. RDA vs Pettis would be tough match up, but I'm not doubting Conor at all anymore. I think Edgar is tougher than RDA - but I think Conor beats him too.
How in the fuck can you tell from a 13 second fight if there is a difference between then and now as to Aldo's using peds? Nonsense, Brendon, c'mon, man.
Connor would dismantle Cowboy imo. I just think Connor can analyze the muy thai style and the standard boxing style and can react to angles and different scenarios at the perfect timing and with perfect accuracy. Cowboys style is very 1 dimensional in that regard and Connor would eat it up. Dos Anjos would be a harder fight for Connor although Cowboy vs. Connor would market better and probably sell more. If Dos Anjos destroys Cowboy (which could very well happen) it would become more interesting, however. Forget all the shit talk and marketing he does I still feel the same way about Connor as I did about watching Anderson in his prime...his movement, timing, and accuracy are just on a completely different level compared to everyone else, add in the variety of kicks and shots he throws its just next level shit.
