At almost 60 years old I have watched many fishing shows, videos and the like but you sir have taken it to the next level. This was an unbelievable journey and truly a great story. Keep it up!!
My family owned 60 acres in Charlevoix for almost 100 years. Great grandfather built the two story farm house and two barns with lumber from the property. There's a ton of smallmouth in the channel. The water is extremely high this year though, normally the water is 5-6 feet from the edge of the channel and now its 2 maybe 3.

Our boat is in Michigan City. Great little (well decent size for lake Michigan) marina. Some good charter guys out there. Most people fishing off the pier catch carp. If you head west to My Baldy you generally can find a bunch of perch.

The salmon at 4:15 mark is a hatchery Jack Chinook (aka. juvenile Chinook). Chinook (Kings) have the black mouth and Coho have the white. The hatchery note is because it doesn't have an adipose fin. :-)
Have any of you heard of the legend of Sleeping Bear. Also Apbassing missed out on fishing in Grand Traverse Bay, some monster are in there. Salmon, trout , bass plus much more

Too funny man!! Open fires are illegal on South Manitou and your "Coho" is a King. The westside of the island you are on is the best Salmon bank in the entire lake. Good stuff. By the way that wreck is called the Morizon and it reeks!!!
I have to say the idea of doing this trip was awesome and the fact that you completed it makes it even better! Probably would not have happened if you brought jon, you would have gone through a couple lower units and would have for sure been dipping in that jb weld 😂
That’s crazy I spend my summers in Charlevoix. I was actually right where you were yesterday. I must of just missed you I fish right were you went out on your boat. Crazy
