It's beyond glaring they didn't consult people who were proper representatives of the culture, because they have no respect for the culture except for a quick cash grab that only impresses your type. I'm not a dancer, but at the time the movie came out it was a movie of new generation of dance style and made Julia a young star. A lot of people liked it a lot. Me too. It was worth cinema money❤

I read somewhere that they wanted to use a true dancer to double for Julia…..but she refused and said that she wanted to do the dance herself since she is a “trained dancer”. While she is ok…..maybe even good….she is NOT the quality dancer to get into Julliard ….bless her heart😥
