Sun tzu said that and I think he knows a little more chess then you do pal cuz he invented it and then he perfect it so that no living man could best him in the ring of chess
Thanos: "I am... inevitable..." Tony Stark: "I invite 12th world champion, international grandmaster, merited master of sports of the USSR, Anatoly Karpov!"
@@TheGallantDrake Mikhail still plays, though, his last tournament was this August. Pretty unfortunate for him, but still. There's a thing with all those prodigy children: most of them are not more talented than the average, they just develop faster. It feels bad when in your five you are like ten, in your fifteen like twenty five and in your twenty five... well, like twenty five.
They actually have to hold back their full power just to be beatable at all. Ever since IBM's Deep Blue defeated the at-the-time world champion Garry Kasparov in 1997, computers have officially been better at chess than humans.
I love the villainous smile of the announcer. The slow stand, the way he uses his arms to prop himself up to stand more dramatically, with widened eyes of impending doom, and the way he FLINGS his hand back with the MIGHT of HADES AND EXCITEDLY SHOUTS THE NAME OF HIS DARK MASTER!
Karpov: Ahh, I sense great potential lay within you. Perhaps, then, a tie shall suffice as an amicable conclusion to our meeting? Misha: No! Karpov: So you have chosen... *d e a t h* .
Karpov offered him a draw three times, because he noticed that Misha's clock was running down, and Misha refused all three times. I respect both of them for this - Karpov wanted a friendly ending, while Misha wanted blood.
Why are you timing a 3-year-old just have a normal chess game. Not to mention they were wasting his time asking questions and distracting him. He is playing against a grandmaster at 3 why should he have to deal with you trying to talk to him while he is playing and only has 10 mins on the clock for some reason
@@D.HansonOfficial they werent really distracting him, the gm asked him the one time if he wanted a tie. The kid was getting distracted because, well, he’s a 3 year old kid. Prodigy or not, you cannot expect a 3 year old to have a stable attention span, come on. And after the whole shindig he was given a medal and the gms autograph, so all things considered, the encounter went quite well
They actually did the boy dirty, He didn't cry at all when Anatoly arrived and infact hold his own against em and wouldn't even settle for a draw which Anatoly offered to him

The funny thing is I actually saw the actual show this was from. It is basically a Russian show which invites kids all over the nation to share their unique talents, whether it can be sports, arts, or something like what the kid was demonstrating, being very proficient in chess for his age. What they dont know is that the host of this show usually has a surprise up their sleeve, whether it is some fun activity, or an invitation of a pro in their talent. This episode was by far one of the most memorable because they were able to bring such a high person in the show.
@@azulizachan7595 The show itself is called Luche Vseh on youtube ("The Best"). It is fully in Russian, and I don't see any of them with subtitles. I will leave you the link to the full part of the chess kid. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7F3nNLfRjzo.html
For those who haven’t seen the original footage: The animation makes it seem like they did the kid dirty, but in the original video they’re actually really nice about it. The boss insists that Misha put up a *really* good fight in spite of losing (keep in mind that four-year-olds are severely time-blind) and they praised him and awarded him a medal and let him show off his insane puzzle-solving skills after the game. Overall, they were very encouraging :) Great animation, though. I love the dark souls vibes.
Good to hear the sportsmanship. But it's also funny to imagine that the kid cried. And it's also funny that they still put the kid up against a whole ass USSR champion in chess lmao
@@ПинагодThe kid did cry after losing, but Karpov was still super nice about it. He went easy, and even offered the kid a draw. Karpov praised Misha plenty after the match too
God, The only reason he cried is because of the way he introduced it to him, this dude could introduce to me a plumber and i'd still shit my pants in fear
Unlike You Misha, I'm no good at Plumbing. That's why we've found a strong rival for you. I Invite: The Multiple Award Winning INTERNATIONALLY CERTIFIED MERITED MASTER OF PLUMBING FOR THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM: MARIOOOOOOOO! (Dark souls music intensifies)
"A world class plumber, appearing in many consoles and has killed many animals, saved a princess again and again. Super Mario!!!. But first Mario will eat this Fire Flower to beat the hell out of you."
I really love how the Host Instead of just saying the name of Karpov, introduce him as: 12TH WORLD CHAMPION, INTERNATIONAL GRANDMASTER, MERITED MASTER Of SPORTS OF THE USSR; ANATOLY KARPOVa. Makes him look Even more as a true final boss.
@@WhooshWh0sh It is contextual, all the preceding nouns are modified with an "a" at the end. ChampionA vs Champion, GrrossmeysterA (grandmaster) vs Grossmeyster. MasterA Sporta vs Master Sporta etc. Using "Karpova" in this context is correct, if he simply said "Karpov" then it would be quite a big mistake. I can't explain it very well but I'm a native speaker so trust me on this one :)
Imagine being 12th chess world champion, international grandmaster, merited master of sports of the USSR, Anatoly Karpov only for being invited to kid show and becoming a meme.
This meme actually helped Karpov. Honestly most won't know the name of 11th or 10th or even 13th chess world champion, but thanks to this meme, now everyone knows the name of the 12th world chess champion, and the fact that he was also the Merited Master of Sports of USSR - ANATOLY KARPOV!!!!
He is well known and respected in the chess community. The only man that can rival Kasparov during their time. He is retired but joining the show is very heartwarming.
Misha: "oh frick" Russians: "WE INVITE GORDON RAMSAY TO THE STUDIO!" Edit: Why didn't RU-vid notify me about the answers? The conversation under this comment is quite amusing.
100% that one fight scene early on in any Shonen that shows how far the main character has to go to become the best. I can even imagine it ending with the antagonist ending the match just before beating him while he says “You’ve got heart for a weakling, boy. Come back and face me again in a few years. I trust that by then you’ll be worth my time.”
@@pocket_sand6645 Grigori Perelman would have to be more specific since he's really only known for one thing, but that certainly should be who they bring in once Misha learns topology
@@arthoormoorgen9492 Well it would be good for a biography. "At the age of 8 , I played against a chess grandmaster. And I was able to become a meme because of it."
