Big Boy presents “50 Years of Hip-Hop” - a three-part documentary series celebrating the 50th anniversary of a genre that started in the Bronx and grew into a cultural phenomenon spread across the world. Episode One covers the rise of Eazy E, the formation of N.W.A., and the gangster rap era of the 80’s / 90’s. Dr. Dre and Warren G speak on the rise of Snoop Dogg - sharing stories behind iconic tracks like Deep Cover, Nuthin’ But a “G” Thang, and The Chronic album. Warren G and Snoop remember working with the former CEO of Death-Row Records, Suge Knight. “50 Years of Hip Hop” also explores the rise of Tupac Shakur, his famous beef with Biggie Smalls, and his tragic murder in 1996. Marlon Wayans, E-40, and Snoop Dogg recall their finals moments with the west-coast rapper. Plus, boxing champion Mike Tyson speaks on Tupac’s legacy. Warren saved DEF JAM, not hip-hop as a whole. He deserves respect from the label even to this day. Def Jam was on the outs. Near bankrupt, Russell Simmons is in serious debt. Warren saved the label for sure.

This man has no real responsibility to anyone but his wife and kids and the fact that he understood that as opposed to Tupac not having ANY understanding of it certainly had an effect on the choices and decisions that he made. Both were facing the same issues and trials: Snoop chose door #2 and Tupac chose door # 1. They both had choices just as everyone in life does. Snoop chose to do better and withdraw from the negativity - Tupac chose to add fire to it and it ultimately CONSUMED him. CHOOSE LIFE.

Man..if you live long enough to see life and understand all that it takes to be successful and to get out of the streets, you realize that it’s guys like Warren G, a true friend who makes the difference between winning and losing. ThankYou Big Boy.. for always representing our generation's culture, music and humor. Thru you I felt a connection to hip hop that otherwise as a latina would have prob never felt I could be part of. You were a influence and accepted different ethnicities of our generation to be part of Hip Hop. I was Hip Hop then and I'm still Hip Hop now,

🙏 Very rough years and time ! I remember seeing on t.v. about Tupac getting shot , we had lost Selena quintanilla-Perez in March 1995 , it was also tough 😢... My respects for his family/friends.

This is one of the greatest Hip Hop documentary clips ever. 90's Hip Hop from the West Coast is the best! Nobody was better than NWA, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Cube, Pac, D.P.G., D.J. Quik, Nate Dogg, & Warren G.

I started watching from the middle of the documentary when they started talking about 2pac and I must say that these interviews are the best interviews I've heard about 2pac because they're so down-to-earth, no bullshit. Snoop Dogg really opened up here and said some things that I never heard him say in other interviews. I even liked what I heard from E-40 and Ice T. Would've been nice to hear from Daz and Kurupt. This was a great documentary and it was well put together.
