While i do agree he shouldn't call himself a challenger coach nor that he should charge $350 I think on the first part of that 99% of people don't buy his coaching because they think he's challenger, they want someone to yell at them but in a productive manner that gets them to stop getting distracted and making excuses as it is very easy to do that in League. The 2nd part of that the way I feel about it is he can charge whatever he wants and if people didn't want his coaching they wouldn't spend the money on it. Clearly people think his coaching style is valuable enough to spend the money on it. Personally I don't think video game coaching is worth anything more than maybe $60 to me but everyone can spend their money how they like.
He did because they all said he’d never even hit D2 in Korea let alone masters and he hit 250 LP masters which is wayyy higher than plat/low diamond. Also he never claimed that he would for sure hit challenger in korea, that was just his goal. His challenger coach title is derived from his accounts many seasons ago where he got challenger when he played the game a lot more and it was a lot easier to reach challenger.
He never said that he was currently challenger on any account btw. He openly acknowledged he had not played the game seriously in years because he was doing coachings.

He hit masters 250 LP riding on the gigantic ranked inflation where many hardstuck diamonds hit masters for the first time. I checked 6-7 last year's random opggs one day to see if any clients had success after getting coached and literally not one had climbed a lot higher to this day. Yep, sooo qualified a coach he is.

You know, I never really cared about whether or not he is actually challenger or how much he charges. If people pay, its their fault. The only thing that made me mad about was the quality of his coaching and acting like he had to sell his soul to get to where he is. Dont get it twisted, Im not much of a tarzaned fan either, but the video where he reviews neaces coaching is eye opening. he charges 350 dollars for sitting in front of his monitor in a really unhealthy posture, reading his chat most of the time, complaining about his clients or writing down little to no notes about what he wants to talk about after the game while giving gold-elo advice at best. I was challenger during several season. Ive said it before: I will never forget the day, match and people when I first hit it. I still have the screenshot of my screen with the challenger promotion Ive sent to my boys per whatsapp after. I coached numerous friends over the years (mostly ranging from silver to plat). I dont get payed for it, neither do i particularly care about their rankes. But yet, I put more effort into my "coaching" than the so called "king of macro" which, by the way, is a self acclaimed title that couldnt be further from the truth.

I'm one of the sad saps that got coaching from Neace, luckily was $250 at the time if I recall correctly . He had some good points but ultimately was like a back seat driver. Didn't really help understand the game further or identify real issues. I don't think his claim as the king of macro really sticks either when you have a bunch of higher elo players that exhibit better macro than he does. Seems he and I struggle from the same thing not knowing how to take over and carry games. Not surprised he can't hit challenger in Korea, honestly curious if he could hit challenger anywhere at this point. Pretty much solidifies what I knew like 3 years ago.

Neace has better branding and has promoted himself really well, and being the best-known coach attracts more potential clients. There's plenty of players that offer coaching and are much more skilled and knowledgeable but they lack his reach. A lot of the highest-level coaches like veigarv2 work with pro teams and coach casuals as a side hussle. The only area he's lacking is that he's not actually a challenger player but he'll still always have a niche for casual players looking to improve. At this point, he's just sabotaging himself imo

Being a coach has absolutely nothing to do with your ability to play a game, whether its a video game, sports, motorsports... Being a coach in one thing, being a player, driver or whatever is another.

I think Neace's isn't as good people believe him to be. I think he has great macro but doesn't take risk that are slightly favorable. I also think his stat checks for champs are off as well. He seems unsure of himself with the recent changes and his off meta picks don't help him I feel. If he were to 1 trick or have strong meta champs he would overtime be a high tier masters.

The price doesnt matter. Its supply and demand. If he charged 100$ but got more bookings than he can do, why wouldnt he increase the price? If he can stay booked at 350$ without too many coachings then thats just a smart move. Its not about what is "worth 350$". surely people get that right?
Thank God I am not a complete idiot that believes paying some guy $350 for an hour in a game where most, if not all, challenge players never paid for coaching. It's simply all self taught nonsense and reading the room on how your teammates play. All challenger players are streamers that dedicated hours to this game. The culture of this game is idiotic and I am genuinely surprised there aren't more people waking up to the fact that it's okay to just play this game casually. God this game sucks.

Neace wont be even slightly competitive at any other game. Hes too old, his fame is too little. His skill is deriving from the amount of hours hes played over the years. He is too old for a fresh start in a game. It would be career suicide.

Those coaches probably never claimed to have hit the highest ranking possible in those particular sport. Its not his rank at Diamond which is the problem, its him claiming to be multi season challenger, proven that he faked that, attempting to prove his detractors wrong by playing in KR and then end up proving them right. If you brand yourself as a coach, the baseline should be that your words, advice are CREDIBLE. He lost crdibility and thus relevance by lying, getting caught, and then failing to redeem himself. It is also true that by streaming his failed climb, he revealed his true skill level as well as DEMONSTRATED many of the behaviours he use to shit on his clients about.
Also, give a shit about niece. But LS is a great coach and sucks at the game. You don't need to be constantly challenger to coach at that level. Just saying.
