That alfie scene is my favorite scene in the entire show. The acting and delivery and writing is just so so so damn good.

The Alfie scene is some of the best writing in TV history cause you go into it wanting Aflie to die but then one simple sentence you realise he's right, and Tommy is in the wrong and hypocrisy is on show. Tommy plays the game and the nature of the game is wicked and evil and no one is safe

When you have space for a new series please consider doing The Last Kingdom, 5 great seasons with a feature length episode to finish the whole story.

Alfie is the message.

Yep, Tommy is a full fledged anti-hero now! They made him less sympathetic, deliberately. It's where he's at psychologically, and it's a great direction for his character! Although, he's hard to dislike in spite of! Tommy at the end there, just like "Here's money for all your future plans, and all the wonderful work you've done, but you can't have it yet cause you're going to get arrested. Try not to resist." and my takeaway when i first saw this was that, he wanted to show them inspiration to get through what will be, well, a ton of inconvenient suffering for the whole family. He wanted them to feel the feeling of all that money before letting that happen so they'd remember it while locked up, and to this day i think that's what they were going for 🤔but i went with it, but around the time i finished the season i saw a really, really well written in depth analysis of the scene and it made so much more sense. I can't be bothered trying to remember what it said, but it was perfectly summed up. My only complaint with this season really, is that, the writers bit off way more than they could chew with the Russian storyline, it felt like they had ten or more hours worth of material due to how layered and convoluted it was and yet they were trying to cram it all into only six hours, i don't know, a few things left me with more questions than answers but, overall a great season. Being a little on the spectrum, my mind doesn't always process information like, at all sometimes, so this season frustrated that part of my brain at points🤣 and seriously, (fuck that priest! 🖕🖕hated that cu..... i mean, that guy!)
