The 2019 Army Wales Festival of Music took place in Cardiff Bay on Saturday 4th May. Musical events occurred across the bay throughout the afternoon and to end the day, the massed bands joined together to perform the 1812 Overture, sunset and Cambrian Patrol, the regimental march of 160th Brigade (Headquarters Wales).
The Massed bands were under the direction of Major Denis Burton MBE and comprised of:
The Band of the Prince of Wales's Division
The Band and Bugles of the Rifles
The Regimental Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh
The Llandovery Male Voice Choir
The 1812 Overture (abridged) was accompanied by live artillery gun fire, provided 104 Regiment Royal Artillery's 105mm Guns. The ceremony of lowering the flags was also completed, by two members of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards present at the event.
