And then it was JUST MONIKA and me...
Here is the fourth and final part of my "Doki Doki Literature Club!" playthrough (originally streamed November 25th, 2022). I originally started this game for Halloween in 2022 and ended up playing it over the entire month of November. Although it probably shouldn't have been my first full game to play on stream besides Genshin, I ended up being really invested in the story and characters, and ultimately had a really good time. I don't think I said as much at the end of the video as I would have liked to about my experience playing this game, so I'll talk a little bit about it here. I had never played a game like this before, and I definitely haven't played one since. It made me question what I know about games and played on my emotions in so many ways. When I watch it back now, I always smile and laugh over how freaked out I was (especially for the Monika jumpscare at the end). I think I actually did a decent job reading all the dialogue. Maybe I should play another visual novel to practice speaking out-loud again (lol). Anyways, thank you for going on this journey with me, and thank you to the chat that was there for the original streams! These experiences made me want to play more games outside of my comfort zone and branch out from Genshin, so I'm really grateful for that. The book you're reading with Yuri is the same as in Act 1. Also, the reason your poem counted for Yuri because she forced you to spend time with her as her possessive trait was amplified. (TW for suicide for this paragraph) The red screen is shaking, the sound is muffled as if there's a huge pressure in your head, the squeaking resembles the rope digging into someone's throat - and by the end, everything seems to fade to black. Well, people don't always faint quickly if they try to hang themselves. Sometimes, it's slow and agonizing - and perhaps the person to instinctively try to free themselves due to panic and pain, or it can be slow enough for the person to overall change their mind. By the way, the "two sides to Monika" makes sense, I'd say. She wants to spend time with the player - her only connection to reality - but she obviously cares for her club, so she also just wants to continue the game without drawing too much attention.
