I actually have the opposite problem with the dome shield due to the dome taking some time to pull and deploy which puts you at risk during live or suprise confrontations. I presume you enjoy using the dome shield? :)

I could be wrong, but I believe goo used to take 6 seconds to burn. Now with this patch it's going from 12s to 9s so it's not it's not completely reverted. Keep up the good work, I love the videos and the podium leage is dope I try to hop in there when I can.
not that I'm saying dome shield wasnt strong before but if heavy needed nerfs I don't think dome was the right target, rpg is way more problematic, winch nerf was ok but i think the main issue people had was the lack of counters, pulls through the wall etc. this will still have winch be annoying. The changes overall this patch were decent but nerfing light and heavy without touching medium seems odd considering how dominant med has become in the meta recently, the heal beam, model, defib loadout is crazy popular right now. Small steps embark, hopefully we get there 1 day
I couldn't agree more. I dont necessarily think these changes are bad. But they don't put their vinger on the sore spot. RPG for sure should be looked at. Heal Beam and Defib are fine, but perhaps lock it at max 1 per team? I dont know. We'll see how it develops over time I guess. Revert dash nerf Embark 🙏🏻

Wow, that dome shield change is wild. Now the teammates will have to go for steal of the cashout because you’ll have to stagger it as heavy in order for it to be fully effective. 1.5 seconds of being exposed during a steal is gonna be tough! I think they should’ve started with 7 seconds
I'm just so glad light snipers are more viable in power shift. I think everyone should be playing light, and I'm so glad I can finally swap my glitch grenades out for a tracker dart. Nerf heal gun more next
The reality is, most teams will burn a shield in sub 5 seconds anyway. It will definitely effect how it's used in transit from site to site, when people are reviving and so on. I see the barricade getting used even more now.
No, they've been buffing up things too and they've not been making every single thing weak. But yeah they're starting to be on that I feel like that comes more of just the players. Keep saying a pressuring them now

I think winch range nerf was perfect. getting winched from the roof of a 4 story building was ridiculous. Also, I feel the 15-second timer is going to make taking points so hard as an attacker. it is going to make lights the meta cause all they have to do is hide for 15 seconds rather than 25 making team wipes much more difficult with an agile light. But hey more tokens being used is nice I guess. Chefs kiss though is reducing the total wins needed for Emerald 1. Hallelujah!
Yeah Emerald change is really nice, I think that there's still some things about winch which would have been better to fix instead (around corner hooking etc) but overall if Embark was to nerf anything, this patch wasn't THAT bad in terms of negative changes, it's OK changes but dome F to pay respects
I don't even play heavy but I thought the dome was already weak, it was super easy to shoot out. imo they should've done something like Gibby dome, it's unbreakable but can't be shot through by you or enemies. Throwing knives were OP and needed that nerf. Too bad nothing was done for the 93r still 😭

A: lights weapons kill fast but have little ammo usually, and also because of light’s healthpool they could easily be dead before they’ve gone through half of a mag. B: heavy weapons do less damage but because of their larger healthpool and usually also massive ammo reserve, they can afford to keep shooting even if they miss some shots or take some hits. C: rpg
I’ve been getting this bug where I’ll play the first round or lives normally, and then each time I die I lose another ability. Usually starts with my ability to crouch… then my q goes, then my e stops working, and so on with each death
They should have just removed the mash shield and replace it with the Dome Shield as a specialization. Also increase the Dome Shield to 15 seconds and add a little more health.

Coincidentally, I was already switching dome shield to barriers because I’ve found that they’re more versatile. They also often times help better than dome shield anyway for stealing cashouts. Winch claw nerf is understandable Throwing knife nerf is fine but I don’t hate them as much as other people seem to lol Lava lamp skin is sick af. Nice update.
Domeshield stealing is one of the most braindead tactics in the game. That being said, i agree with there being a faster cooldown to make up for the nerf. I'm not sad about the TKs getting Nerfed, but i think the ROF nerf is all that needed
I agree on claw being a bane to especially lights averaging 20 kills on a lights infested quick cash, but the buff resulted in the opposite effect, where lights stopped fearing claw users Dome shield with its low HP didn't need a nerf, it was the perfect getaway against mid-to long range where the claw nerf made close to mid range area a lot less large. It was indeed a sad day for heavies, but a glorious day for mids and lights
Really unfortunate that the reticle changes weren’t quite everything needed. The only thing missing was an option to truly disable the reticle from swaying from the center of the screen. Even with the static portion this is still the case
They should've changed winch claw range from 17m to 15m first, instead of 12m. Same for the bubble shield, either reduce the duration by a bit at a time until it feels 'balanced' enough, or compensate the huge duration nerf with something else. If they really wanted to make the bubble shield a 'temporary protection' like they claimed, then why not shorten the animation time to make it more snappy to use, or reduce the cooldown ? Just nerfing the duration to the ground won't change how the bubble shield is played since its purpose remain the same, albeit with a much lower duration now. They have to adress the design flaws first before butchering stats.

What they are doing is a solved problem, they are trying to solve it the hard way. Games usually have systems where you have to pick your agents hence abilities and one team can't have multiple of the same. I dont even know if it's realistic for them to get players to play all three agents at the same time without straight up restricting players to those. Maybe if they were to make it the there can be multiple small mediums and hevays but only the abilities are restricted. Like only one healing beam. Only 1 defib only 1 throwing knifes. Only 1 rocket. And that can maybe have the effect of all classes being played equally without forcing players down that line.
^ I'm open to any solution in solving defib spam. A very good team on triple defib has to be killed 3-9 times in a single fight at times, which is outrageous. They could make the cooldown gradually increase as they are used.
These are all pretty good, I think the dual blades specifically need a range buff - the amount of times I feel like I should be hitting someone with them but I lock onto the air next to them is really annoying lol
Definitely should not have reduced damage for the 1887. Lowered damage means not being able to kill a medium in two full shots at a range that’s barely outside close range. The other medium guns already have a wider effective range and can kill me before I get the third shot in if they are good.
To be fair, I didn't even know what the dome shield timer was until seeing this :') If you're using it in a hot situation, it's not gonna last longer than 5s anyways, certainly not 12. Five seconds of 360-degree cover still seems like it'll have tons of use. But I'll see how my opinion changes after using it a bit tonight!

I guess changes based on what casual players actually wanted were out of the question. Let's be real, they cater to the demands of the light mains. I'm a medium main, but heavy did not need the dome shield nerfed. It's all but useless now. Lights need damage nerfs on everything for starters. A single light should not be able to melt two heavies in a gunfight. Yet I see it happen time after time. Some of us just want to have fun.
@PW.6060 Your backwards. Light is solidified as the worst class and has been nerfed heavier than every other class. The meta is Med, Med, Heavy. Not ANY variation of light. Also if a light is even able to kill 1 heavy in a straight shootout, you have a skill issue. A heavy only needs to RPG then shoot a light ONCE.
@@MomentousCheese It's not me. Most of the time, I see lights end games with 12 or more kills. Sometimes more than 20. Not just one, but multiple lights in the same lobbies consistently. I've seen lights eat RPGs and run off. It's not a one hit kill. If lights are so bad, why does everybody use them? It's literally the majority of most lobbies I play in.

I play every class. Even heavy. I like this change to dome a lot. Face it, dome was OP. This should introduce more variety to heavy load outs…. Next they should address the RPG.
Frankly the dome shield change felt uncalled for, and this is as someone that plays Light and Medium slightly more. Aside from what already was mentioned, glitch barrels also one shot the dome shield now, and subjectively from my games the dome tends to already go down damage wise than before. The biggest problem though that I think Embark is aware on the Discord and hopefully will sort out is the persistent scan bug. While rare, the fact that I would have at least one game every other day where a recon grenade or tracking dart, whether from my teammate or my own, would result in an enemy team showing up for the rest of the round, is utterly game breaking.
This season I feel like was a test season before Embark start to really define what THE FINALS is. They've now had 3 seasons and more than enough time to collect data on what's the future vision for the game. I think you'll be returning.

Just the questionable execution, timing, and placement of these ideas are head scratching at the moment. I do think if they can place all these ideas into there correct categories they will have much MORE to play with in this sandbox. true dat, im thinking again about stopping to play it.. its been the i cant even count it anymore.. like the 7th time my Mainbuild gets crushed and is not usable again .. its just sad .. i once had a month or so where it not happened .. but now i think we are back again on weekly nerfing every build i make i have to stop it. i told them in the beginning in a Review on steam, how much i like the game how it is (in Beta) and that they should not nerf it into the ground like R6s R6s is completly unplayable, it was the most fun game ever but all the crutial stuff ingame got taken out deleted nerfed smashed .. it used to be nearly no ads time, nowadays you just die everytime cause ur Ads/aim takes freaking 3 secounds.. its like beeing an old grandpa with an rpg it used to be a fast slick game .. and thats only one point about it but the worst of it all Everything that was fun and a ( not easy but possible way to have fun and make a not really overpowered move) got taken out .. Why did they take barrel surfing out ?, why they took nukes out ? even in the trailer they advertised with trowing something with c4 on it and blowing everyone up.. maybe they was a bit to strong, but with every nerf now this game feels like a children game.. where everybody has to feel like a champ even if hes a complete moron.. so if everything is nerfed the morons fight longer and feel like they are better .. the rpg kills the heavy himself more often than any enemy cause its like a 3-5 times x damage on himself.. if hes somwhere in a 2-3 meter radius he gets himself 252 damage when only giving anyother enemy 140.. and even if u hit the enemy in the head with ur rpg and die on it, u give the enemy only 82 damage and urself 252 .. please if u want it to be fortnite, than dont make it so good in the beginning ..

I just want an update to on-screen text size. I legitimately can never read my teammate's names, tell which Cashout is B or D, or read the descriptions of Terminal locations.
Not much into the balances changes but I am just glad they did improved the optimization of the game. Frames weren't as consistent until the new patch, so having that optimization really helped with my gaming experience lmao
I really do hope the awareness of The Finals will reach the surface someday, and have its popularity boom. It feels like it's still under the radar. I can't remember last time i've had this much fun in a competetive shooter, although i know this game is not everyone's cup of tea. But if it keeps going at this rate with unnecessary nerfs, many of the current players will lose interest. Too many games sink low because of nerfs by devs who don't seem to play their own game, and focus more on nerfing rather than buffing unpopular items and classes. I'm all for a healthy balance, but i see no reason on the nerfing of dome shield.
Winch nerf was not needed. Imo it was designed to force long range engagements and them into short ones. The issue is that the heavy only now has very strong CQC potential with the Hammer and the auto shotgun really being it's only viable guns. The winch wasn't the issue it was the very oppressive CQC gear.
I'm so used to playing without them I wouldn't mind a toggle of grenade indicators, I like relying on instincts it makes it feel more scary lol XD but I can understand why you'd like the indicators on

Something stil doesn't make sense to me that a knife to the face will do 170 damage, but a rocket to the face only does 140(Light player complaining about how op we are here)
As a heavy player the winch needed a nerf. Some shield might be too much, but honeslty no matter what class you played , it was always a pain when used to steal an objective.
The Emerald change kinda missed the point with what alot of people have been complaining about, it wasnt the amount of wins that was the issue, it was the lack of MM and progress if you didnt win the tournament. As it stands, if you try and solo WT, you will end up with 2 unranked or silver players on your team, have to drag them to the finals, just to lose to a 3 stack or stack of streamers, and you have sweated for half an hour for absolutley nothing, where as the players you dragged to the finals, have grabbed loads of XP for their ranking. Once again Embark showing the do not respect the players time in their game.
Heavy needed big nerfs. My own personal (and probably unpopular) opinion is that they need to be a touch slower as well. If they’re gonna have all that health, then a light build shouldn’t even need to use a dash or grapple to get away from the sledge hammer or spear. That’s the whole point. They’re supposed to be big and slow. Not SLIGHTLY slower than a light with what seems like infinite health.
Could someone with enough influence please ask Embark to stop over-nerfing the few remaining fun gadgets in the Heavy Build? These gadgets already have solid counters, yet they keep getting nerfed into oblivion, making the game less enjoyable. Meanwhile, certain classes remain frustratingly overpowered and unfair to play against due to these constant nerfs and the so-called 'QoL' changes (which are more like direct buffs) to the Light class. Balancing is essential, but it shouldn't come at the cost of making entire playstyles unviable. The game is at its best when all classes feel equally rewarding and fun to play Heavy Build is getting blasted for the sake of a class that doesn't even fit into the game and strengthens the TDM mentality. It's frustrating to see multiple playstyles being sacrificed for a class that undermines the game's overall balance and depth. The developers need to reconsider these changes if they want to keep even a fraction of the remaining community. My friends have already left because of the Light class, and I'm about to do the same. Don't get me wrong-I also dislike some of the awful nerfs to the Light class-but seriously, stop it. Do you really enjoy being queued against triple Light builds? Does that sound fun to you? Do you feel powerful when you throw your Dome Shield only to have it destroyed in 0.001 seconds because of a glitch or the sheer amount of incoming damage? At this point, does the Heavy Build feel like a tank or just a bullet sponge? Enough with this nonsensical balance for the love of God! PLAY YOUR GAME OMG
We could have a tf2 shovel inspired melee for lights like a tactical axe where u do more damage by falling on enemies and walk run and jump ability go with it. A sword for medium that does heavy swings but also a slight damage increase if u fall and melee using map or jump pad
As a havy main I think this update is great. I have no fun in seeing and playing the same thing over and over again. I would love to see light becoming a little more viable.
Dome shield nerf is no problem. can't remember the last time I had a dome last longer than six seconds. I throw that shit at enemies on purpose just to make space. Winch Claw has been crazy OP all season, not fun to use or play against and sapping the playerbase, but this nerf is specifically shitty because it stops you from grabbing stuff other than players, which is the whole justification for it having a low cooldown.
I came back to the game to try and get emerald, and jfc I cant imagine the average player being able to do this. I win on average somewhere around 50% of my games, and even then it will take me a week and change of trying hard to get e1. I was top 400 s2 and I cant imagine a casual getting this stuff while balancing life

HHM /HMM is the definitive beat class stacks - lights are the recognized weakest class by far, yet they keep getting poked with nerfs Heavy is in general the best class out there, and it's not like dome health was nerfed - it will serve its purpose when needed - it doesn't need to last so long.. Though admittedly it seems a but to much: 6-8 seconds would have been sufficient ... but I'm not sure why this upsets you more than the TK nerf..
I would have liked the power adjusted for the dome shield like increasing the damage threshold and removing the ability to instantly glitch it... right now it feels like it lasts all of 1 second anyways when people are firing at it
solo heavy feels terrible and all of the guns shoot marshmallows. What's the point of having a bigger health pool when the time it takes a heavy to kill a light is the same as it takes a light to kill a heavy. All that does is make it so that heavys take forever to kill each other and you have no mobility. The number of times I have 1 light who is running a whole match 15+ kills with a billion dashes, invis, better weapons, stun guns, and faster regen of health... its stupid but better nerf heavy because when there is coordination it's better... I know I need to "git gud" but it doesn't change the fact it feels terrible as a solo player

A better answer for you is that everything else has been nerfed so you'll probably feel the FCAR is way more stronger than you're used to depending on how long it's been. FCAR is still one of the most used medium weapons.
Throwing knives are OP still, they should have some type of reload damage; you can one-to-two shot any kind of player basically instantly, there’s no counter
idk what everyone is smoking in the comment section but these are all needed changes. got really sick of everyone running full teams of winch sledgehammer. dome shield was a little too harsh but you should be using barricades and goo grenades anyways. would like to see changes to RPG next but knowing embark that's not gonna happen
That dome shield nerf was 100% justified. It made stealing WAY to easy. I would agree that a cooldown reduction would be in order now that its less a "press button to win" ability.
@@dienormaxjeanThat was part of the problem. You were forced in a close quater fight with the class with HUGE HP and HUGE Damage. All that holds Heavy down was its speed. But with the shield it got rid of its limitations. Imagin a light that had a ability that made it so you you cant damage them unless you are a certain distance away from them. Same thing. The thing that holds them back, the low HP, would just be ignored and you have to play by there rules. It would be broken and not fun. Same as the shield. You force others in a situation were youre odds of winning are allmost garantied.
@@0DeathTheKid15 hard disagree. Light has more than enough burst dps to stop a heavy in a dome. Both dagger and sawed off are a two-shot. Not to mention you can always run glitch grenade to disable shields entirely.

this is crazy, when i first started playing i only played medium but after playing ranked i only played lite. bubble shield never seemed over powered to me. it was effective but just simply shooting it was also effective, they should have nerfed the wench claw. also i now only play lite in cash out and easily come out with a 20 kill game super EZ as a lite. the mediums seem to be my only issue always out killing me as a lite with only 1hp remaining it happens to often even when they miss most of there shots and i hit all mine.and they should have nerfed throwing knives to the ground by increasing the fire rate but reducing the damage.
can someone explain how gaining experience works on weapons and equipment? it seems so random and slow with some things and others just seem to gain thousands just for using it, i haven't been able to find a guide anywhere so far but there has to be some answer to the method
For equipment, it's mostly based on the support that the equipment did - or the damage that it dealt. For example a C4 coining and enemy would grant a fair amount of XP but it being used to deal damage to help contributes as well. For weapons it's simply eliminations unfortunately, I don't think damage does that much to contribute to it at the moment. Modes like PowerShift/Bank it are very helpful towards gaining XP Hope that helps!
I really like the Emerald changes too, I feel that if Emerald was at the start then these numbers would make more sense but nice that it's adjusted at least a little for people last minute grinding
