(I will upload an improved copy soon) This 16mm film shows scenes of gold mining and town life in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, during a very active period of gold mining in the late 1940's. Along with gold mining and processing of ore, we are shown scenes which include horse racing, local town traffic, buildings and aerial views of Kalgoorlie. Illustrates the gold mining process in some detail including underground blasting and extraction, tailings dumps, crushing, the gold room and then on to the Perth Mint for final refining. Made for the W/A. Government Tourist Bureau, 1948.
