Love the work, don't think I have ever been on a job where they would give you that amount of time, back in my day it was always " Head down arse up" just goes to show what can be achieved when you don't have an hairy arsed foreman breathing down your neck, great workmanship
Great work, a lot of the time with brickwork people only think of running to the line and not the setting out and working out it took to get to that point. This project shows how much thought needs to go into being a bricklayer! Also with this spiral arch I think anyone that ever sees it will take a slight interest in brickwork, you should put a QR code next to it with a link to your video so they can see how it’s done
Great video as always skill will out every time l know any young apprentice bricklayer would like to pick your brains and be shown what real brick laying is all about its not just running to the line, thanks again for the demo,
Today I heard about you, now I will watch and see if you are the best brickie youtuber, as I'm learning and ready to begin my career as a professional clay artist
nice work,..... but twisting a pier with by using this square-tool sums the error goin´up.... I always use a centerline and a circle drawn at the foot.... that controls the turn goin´up for 3meters
Ben Bax Hi Ben, please believe me when I tell you that the tool I use keeps it plumb. During the video you can see me checking it and when j was teaching my students built twisted piers to 24 courses and then checked plumb and they all were within a couple of millimetres.
Hola. Saludos.
Just a thought if you made the templates samecdepth as a brick plus a joint you could lay bricks flush to the top of templates which save you leveling them providing bricks were pretty much same size
Hello .. Good evening. My name is Diego Vilela, I found your work very interesting. Congratulations. This column was very good. PLEASE HELP ME CREATE A DEVICE FOR FITTING THE BRICKS AND THE COLUMN EXIT RIGHT. I am FROM BRAZIL.
Rob brilliant ! Question !? If you wanted to build a pier like this in an existing gap , ie off say dpc and up to a lintel how do you gauge it so that it would end up facing the right way at the top to follow the brickwork over the lintel ? Hope this makes sense Cheers
Hi Bob, what you need is 3 things, 1. determine height/courses 2, determine the twist you want, 90, 180, 270 or 360 degrees then divide the degrees by the courses to find the twist of each course 3. buy one of my templates...haa I hope that helps
Raked joints look better on these I think, I did one of these at my bosses house, 10ft high and using only the thickness of a stick rule to do my rotation of brick, was only 1/8th out of plumb for my first column, still standing today after 9 years and going strong
Un cordial saludo es tan hamable un video donde se pueda oservar bien la echa de la plantilla o molde no se como lo llamas x esta interesante esas colucnas gracias en lo q me pueda colaborar
Must be doing the work on his own place because at the pace he is going any home owner he would be doing this for will cry over the price he’d have to give them for his labor, right? Most people are cheap and if you explain the reason for the high cost they will 😢 I know, people want expert results but only want to pay for mediocre service Looks good
Hi Matthew, it's my own design that I patented in 1990 but didn't do anything about it. I'm now having 24 made as a few people have enquired about them. They should retail at about £75 + p&p
Great skills ther mate. But shame on site it's Quantity over quality. Wud love just work for a firm where they give u time to build fantastic designs, instead of your typical house box.. Great videos
