I might also add that we Finns are pretty good at recycling our trash on a consumer level. Bio waste, energy/plastic waste, cartons, newspapers, glass, metal, small electronics, batteries etc. Most apartment buildings (or local grocery stores for small electronics and batteries) have separate bins for most of these and people actually actively try to recycle as much as possible.
@nami-3
@nami-3 Год назад
I think Japan is the best at recycling. Nothing angers me more than seeing people throw trash outside, and I see that way too often in Finland.

Some notes! Pulled oats is okay. Several other plant-based protein things are good as well. I like perhaps the one made from broad beans (faba beans, scientific name Vicia faba) best. Baby boxes, or maternity packages, were introduced in Finland in 1937. First they were for low-income mothers but became for everyone in 1949. That "Allas" pool is in the centre of Helsinki next to the Market Square. You can see the ferris wheel in the background. It's called Skywheel Helsinki, and you can watch a film in a gondola, and there is a sauna in one of the gondolas. Microplastics are a real problem. They can be found in most lake waters in Finland, and of course all places more modified by humans.

thank you my friend for educating us, these facts are truly interesting and I like how Finland is making the effort to make the world a better place to live in. Love and Peace to Finland.❤️

farmers wrap the hey in plastic, and every harvest lots of that plastic just flies into the forest or remain on the fields... It is time something is done about that kind of heybaling.... the whole world does it like that, so finnish farmers are pressured to do the same just to stay in the game against the competition. We need innovation to replace THAT kind of plastic with something biodegradable.

This video is a bit behind as 3D-printed stakes just arrived at the markets and plastic straws, spoons, forks and cups are all plant based for several years. We have 4 baby boxes. It's around 1000€/$ worth of free stuff. Dads get paid leave too. Guy in the video should go to see what else Finland has outside of Helsinki/Espoo. Such a limited view.

foreigners always reduce finland to a single place: helsinki the country is as large as germany, but all they ever see and know is "helsinki" i am really tired of it, but thats how it goes. To americans, and many other foreigners only cities matter. You can be happy if they realize that paris is not the capital of europe. They give a fuck about countryside.. where the real people live and produce the food city people consume. Tourists come to see fortresses , museums, buildings buildings.. and then they go home an state they know finland. If i visit new york, i would say i have seen new york. Not in the wildest of my dreams would i think this is a fair representation of the entirety of the NY state, or even the nation.

I cringed a bit at the start of the video you reacted to, when the narrator was comparing how Finns are better than other people. I wouldn't really say we're better

I just had something similar to pulled oats made out of fava beans (by Raisio Group's Beanit) yesterday. I don't know how it compares to meat since I've never had any, but it's really yummy. :)

i am a carnivore. And i think trying to replace meat or "fake" meat (like härkis) is the wrong approach. If something tastes nice, it is a good enough reason for me to eat it. I dont need it to taste like meat. It just must not taste boring. If i buy vegan food, then i dont buy it because it is "vegan" i buy it because it taste nice and i like it. If you want to turn me vegan, then get me vegan food that taste nice and dont hit my allergy boxes (sunflower seeds can kill me, and i need a microscope to read the ingredience list in the shop to ensure that i dont die while eating that salad. So i started to avoid all salads as a consequence... )
@Silveirias
@Silveirias Год назад
@@zoolkhan You're not a carnivore, you're an omnivore like all humans are. I also eat food that I think is good. That's why I personally don't eat fake meats that try to replicate meats texture and taste. I don't eat meat, and I never have, so I have no desire to eat anything like it. However. Not all people are like that. Most people become vegetarian or vegan later in life. Some do so for ethical reasons, some rare cases because of an allergy. Some have other reasons. They might still like the taste and texture of meat, and want to eat something that is as similar as it gets. I have no clue how similar to meat härkis is nor do I personally care, but personally I think it's pretty good when prepared well and eaten mixed with other food. But what is good and isn't is a subjective experience of course.

Actually suicide rates are pretty average nowadays. About the same with for example Norway and Sweden. In early 90s when there was a great depression it was horrible but times has chanced.
