Genre categorization is done according to the rateyourmusic.com (RYM) website. I have omitted music genres that in my opinion
1) Are to similar to others (for example Speed Metal is similar to Thrash Metal)
2) Have very few representatives (for example Death 'n' Roll)

10:35 personally, i think the piper at the gates of dawn (1967), or even a saucerful of secrets (1968) (both by pink floyd) fit the bill for first space rock album, however i do see where you're coming from. great list

officially, Symphonic Rock doesn't exist as a genre, it's just a slang developed among musicians and fans(like Heavy Rock for instance)...... officially it belongs under the umbrella of Prog Rock..... back in 1967, even the term Prog Rock didn't exist yet(that term came with the debut of King Crimson)...... Vanilla Fudge were combining Acid Rock/Proto-Prog

The Deathrock one is pretty accurate. Christian Death started as a band around the same time Joy Division released their debut. only theatre of pain was released 1982. Was their anything really like it before this? Also I am admittedly a Rozz Williams worshipper.
