The film plot is based upon "Bya-Kay", a traditional custom followed by the Bhutia families during the time period of child-birth within the family. The film recalls scenes from within the Sikkimese Bhutia community of the olden times and highlights the rituals that were followed during the time of expectancy of a new born in the family, while beautifully exhibiting the daily on-goings and the roles of the family members.
A feature film first of its kind by Shri Bhaichung Tsichudarpa, currently an Associate Professor in the Bhutia Department of Sikkim University. The cast of the film have mainly been selected from amongst the students and teaching faculty of the Bhutia Department of Sikkim University.
