It's called a Laundromat because of the "o-matic" craze in the states. Which would combine the function of a thing the the word automatic. So the building itself was originally called a Washateria but colloquially became a Laundrymatic. Which would get "shortened" to Laundromat.

Instead of taking the large daily schedule with you, next time take photos of each page with your camera phone. Works for me! Great video, as always. It sounds like P&O have quite a few bugs to work out. Plus those dreadful balcony cabins would be a deal breaker for me. Not only can people see into the balcony and room, there’s not view when sitting on the balcony chairs! What’s the use?

I think the Carnival Mardi Gras is even worse, as they have a tiered balcony system. Some upper decks look right down onto your balcony!

I love afternoon tea, and try to experience it at a new place every time I visit London. To have it at sea would be a dream! For me it's cream on the scone first, then jam on top. This is the way.

Out here in Australia we called laundry place a laundromat too and love your videos and they are very good help to keep me strong in keeping me going at the moment while in lockdown and my husband being very ill with stage 4 lung cancer as well as you guys make me smile 😊 and the Iona is absolutely beautiful

Take the control panel off where the buttons are and in the back that will be a solenoid and a little screw in there that can lead a flat head screwdriver and you can just adjust the speed of the elevator with by turning the screwdriver in that screw

I read somewhere recently that Queen Elizabeth ALWAYS had her scones exactly the same way jam first then the cream. That information might be useful if you ever have that particular tea again, but I don't think that will happen. lol

About 30 years ago Princess and NCL and maybe all the cruise ships served a real afternoon tea, with waiters with white gloves, serving tea, bringing tea sandwiches, scones (nothing is better than scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream), etc. Those were the days! Loved looking at your teas here, even if not quite with the classics such as cucumber sandwiches, egg salad, and all the rest. I live in Las Vegas and I am hoping to soon go to the Bellagio casino where they have a Saturday afternoon tea. The last afternoon tea we had was at the Grand Floridian hotel at Disney World about 3 years ago. I am so hungry after watching you two eat! Keep up the good work! Too bad most vessels did away with the posh afternoon teas. Glad you found one!

Couldn’t agree more about the app. We went on Britannia and it was awful there too. I love P&O, so right for the UK market. I cannot understand why they are so behind on tech. On Britannia we had no signal so we have to leave it to join a queue and wait for the table to become available. I have seen people who have been on Iona moan about lack of WiFi signal in Some cabins too. The brand new ship should not have those issues. Regarding the app, there are no excuses. They seems to have done nothing whilst operations were paused. It would have been a perfect time for the tech teams to be working hard. I work in IT and there have been no issues working remotely and still delivering new programs. Disappointed.

I agree with you about the drinks package. I'm on the Iona in January and was looking at the drinks package and at the prices for the drinks I worked out that I would have to have dozens of drinks during the day, whether alcohol or soft drinks and figured out I would probably not get out of the room with being so drunk during the trip.

No brown sauce on a British ship! Cue the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse! My Mother was from Scotland, (Motherwell) and she put brown sauce, (A1 in America) on everything, a habit I picked up. As for Laundromat (US) there was a time when the customer had to do everything themselves. There was a restaurant in New York called the Automat where you picked your own food. BTW I love your videos, best description of cabins yet. Keep up the good work! And as always...MIND THE GAP!

Hi Ben and David. Makes complete sense with a foot lecture in the restaurant. Try the sole as a seafood choice, followed by scones with cream and toe jam. They are just trying to get a foot in the door, so be kind and don't give them the boot but offer them a shoe in. Before you stamp your feet and and put your foot down to tell me to put a sock in it, be kind because I am Australian and my world is upside-down. I just love your videos.

That afternoon tea in Aqua (included) was amazing. I only did it the once though for the sake of my waistline. We were generally OK with the virtual queue system which we only used for dinner although on Formal Night it actually jammed and we were number 53 for 45 minutes. We also noticed that there were no shaver sockets in the bathrooms so next time we would bring an adapter. It would also be nice if there were maps on the ship as I have seen on other ships showing the position of the ship as although there were announcements twice a day we could not hear them most of the time. We spent a night in a standard balcony cabin before being swapped to a disability cabin (which was fantastic) and also thought it was small with insufficient wardrobe space. The lifts did not give you much time to get in and out either. Lovely ship though looking forward to cruising on her again.

Your cabin Stewart will be happy to provide additional hangers (if you don’t mind wire hangers.). Started a 2020 180 day world cruise and no problem getting 30+ additional wire hangers.

Great vlog guys, we’re booked on the Iona in June, off to the fjords. We’re staying in 9.505 so next door but one to your cabin. This gives us an even better feel of what our cabin/balcony will be like. Looks like a fantastic ship
