It teased Ethereal Workshop’s update at the end of the trailer for Festival of Yay Junior in Dawn of Fire, and the 1st half of Festival of Yay’s event in the main game. The one you’re encountering is the 2nd half! Also, the reason why the meter didn’t go unstable when you tried to synthesize a Flasque is because it has more stable elements than the Nitebear, in which the Flasque starts off with the plasma element, a more stable element than shadow, the element that the Nitebear starts off with. (Remember, the order of stability, to instability goes this order: plasma, shadow, mech, crystal, and poison.)
some insight on the synthesis system: different kinds of meebs have different stabilities, and when you put more unstable ones in the synthesizer, the dial goes up. the closer it is to the end, the more unstable it is, meaning there's a lesser chance to get the monster. this is why him saying "when it reaches red, you know something good's about to happen" is ironic

the meeter on etherial workshop is how stable the monster your trying to create is, if the meeter is in the red then it means that the monster is more unstable and will be harder to get. the order of the elements stability is the same order the elements are on the natural islands. the list goes as: plasma(plant island), phantom(cold island), tech(air island), crystal(water island), poison(earth island), in that order. its very fun to watch you play a game i have played for years and keep up the good vwork like you always do.

Hey Matt 👋 in nitebear’s part you can acctually hear a baby crying. I believe (my prediction) that nitebear used to be a loved toy 🧸 but at some point they took it away from the child to expirement on it and now it is a monster which is why the baby is crying. It’s amazing how much msm puts into monsters sounds 😮 I want to know your opinion though and what you think!!

The blobfish is just a normal looking deepsea fish that has been fished out of the high pressures and had its tissues severely damaged and basically turned into slime whilst still alive from the lack of pressure on the surface.
