the only thing is, is that if a guy threw 82 there is almost a 0% chance they are making d1 i feel like it almost might be a publicity stunt, she’s probably really good but 82? at d1
@@Leftiesarelosingit yeah i threw 79 and could throw a nice slider and curve but i didnt make the freshman team. The coach just laughed in my face and said i wasnt even close to making it. I was bummed.
John Sterling: Here’s the pitch to Judge. Swing and drive! it is high it is far it is gone!!! He hit that OUT of Yankee Stadium! Oh here comes the Juuudge
Literally 😂 I threw 87 as a lefty and had a 4 era throughout high-school but they said I needed at least 5-6 more mph and a bit more movement on my curveball and change up to play D1
@@skythatguy I mean fair, however as a person that worked 16 years of their life as I have, from the age of 3 to improve as best as they could. Only to be passed by someone on paper worse then me, and possibly just because their a woman seems cheap and dirty, and no I’m not hating on her I’m super proud of her, I’m hating on the system that allowed it
That's if she hit 82. Maybe some gun hit it one time at that speed but just on observation, it's mid 75-77 on average which would get smoked unless you have a vagina, then you get to D1 lol.
@@JoshGiddey_16 She does pitch. She pitched on the women's national team. She's just not permitted to pitch with the higher caliber men because she'd get smoked.
There’s MLB players that only throw 80😂 y’all talkin bout they gone rake her only throwing 82 but yet in the clips she is spotting her slider and fastball spot on. I’m a d1 baseball player and ima tell y’all velocity is nice to have as a pitcher but if you can spot the ball where I need it better than being able to throw 90+ I’m taking the spot pitcher and moving the 90+ velo arm to outfield
I'm getting that female football player vibes from this, I forgot her name but she was quite literally only picked so the college could get some socal points and she played for them for like 2 years but was never actually put in a game and she quit because they refused to put her in.
Amd for good reason. She would've gotten destroy. Had a girl play for an opponent my freshman year in high school ad my teammate literally destroyed her with a hit in football. He felt bad afterwards cuz he didn't know it was a female. But still. Women should not play in men's sports. That's why there are women's leagues.
This is a publicity stunt. 82 is a terrible fast ball for D1. She might have been good with boys at the highschool level where 82 is a decent enough fast ball for a small school, but not D1.
she is a UTILITY. she did not make the team as a pitcher specifically. and it’s genuinely so cool to see people pushing themselves into male dominated sports. especially as a young woman, having someone like that to look up to is absolutely amazing.
As a pitcher, having the ability to throw fast is a positive, but it is not the end all. Being able to get hitters out is much more important. Do your thing, young lady. Godspeed
Not in d1 baseball. 83 won’t get u looked at unless ur a lefty with funky arm angle and has a plus pitch. No right handed male 5’7 165 won’t even get looked at by a d1 school throwing 83.
A slow pitcher like her is actually good if you wanna play games with the batter. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Batters in D1 are trained for prodigies who throw 90+ in the zone, so they won’t be as ready for a slow pitcher like her. If she learns to barely graze the zone and catch them lacking, she’ll make it decently far
if u can’t throw at least 90 you’re getting nuked every single pitch, if u throw 95 you’re making it to the show, the only way you can get into d1 without touching 90s is if you throw breaking balls to perfection
Greg Maddox was one of the best pitchers of all time and had a fastball in the mid to high 80s. That being said he had some nasty stuff to go with it. Also could throw it in a tea cup
I reserve judgement until she plays. If she makes it then congrats, but if she doesn’t then I didn’t cheer on somebody for no reason just like every other prospective player
There's literally coed softball league where both genders play. Mixed team are impossible for football and basketball, but baseball is most likely sport for women to try and compete .
Everyone and their mom at d1 can throw 82 lmao. D1 lineups have an Abundance of pitchers. She won’t ever see the mound and if she was a po in highschool she won’t ever see the field lol.
She’s a woman at 5-6 her arms are short and she’s comparatively slower, this combined with a subpar throwing speed will make her a worse fielder than most guys coming out of varsity in highschool
What is the point of all of you guys crapping all over her? Would a male player of the same ability make the roster? No. Is there a strong element of Brown doing this for the publicity? Yes. Does that matter? Not even slightly. She didn't force Brown to add her to the roster. She walked on, same as anybody else, showed what she can do and they chose to offer her a roster spot. She didn't make them do that, they chose to. Like any other player who was trying out, she's just somebody who has worked damn hard to be as good as they can. What happens beyond that is out of their hands. For a female player, she's damn good. You can see from the videos that are out there that she has decent control, some nice movement on her pitches, and at 82mph she's one of the fastest female pitchers ever. I believe the only faster pitcher is Genevieve Beacom who this year has been training at Tread Athletics and hits 85mph. She's also 6'2", so for Pichardo to be pitching 82mph when she's only 5'6" is damn impressive. Her getting publicity now, and the news coverage that will happen if she gets on the field in a game, is a good thing. If it gives any young girls the confidence to go for something, to be inspired, to be driven to pursue a dream, then that's a brilliant thing. So if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything.
I know there’s people like actually dogging her but for the rest of us we actually just feel bad for the reasons you listed. It’s not really fair that someone throwing 82 gets in the d1 when a guy throwing 82 isn’t getting in. It’s all clearly for publicity we feel bad truly.
Tim collins is 5’7 and sat low 90’s… and the term “clocked up to” is a bad way to express someone’s velo. Not hating on her 80’s is nothing to slouch on. But below average high school pitchers throw 80.
Wow mad haters in the comments. Never hate on someone for following their passion, especially if it’s baseball. Good for her. Takes guts to play ball at all.
@@bopboploc490she can’t actually play at a higher level tho. She’s a diversity hire on a shitty team. She wouldn’t even get on varsity of a normal highschool team let alone a d1 program. If she wants to succeed at the next level she should play against girls. She’d probably be able to do well
@@bopboploc490 she can play d1 softball and actually be able to compete 💀 she’s just a publicity stunt for the team she’s not gonna make it far i promise
As a baseball player I think this is bad at a d 1 colleges should be taking the best players not a 5,6 girl who can throw 84 there is a better boy who could have made that team wasted spot
For all the idiots, the video said she’s a utility player. She won’t be taking the mound. I think this is idiotic, but at least criticize it for the right reasons.
I got an offer to pitch D1 for several teams and my fastball is only 64 mph. I was the best pitcher in high school and then my fastball was only 51 mph until my senior year.
It’s confusing to me how boys can play softball but once a girl plays baseball it’s a publicity stunt? I get the fact about throwing 82 for d1 but still.
I’m not trying to take anything away from her but you take a guy throwing 82 he’s gonna get cut from any roster. Just feel like it may be a publicity stunt to get their school some camera time. Regardless good on her.
Video says she's a utility player now, so if she can swing the bat, and cleanly field the ball, I don't see why not at least let her on the team for a bit if she qualified
Hear me out… she stays a contact hitter & steals 40 bags a season. NGL ANY pitcher throwing mid 80’s unless they are ripping knuckleballs or something so strange & hard to hit is gonna get SHELLED at any level. Who says she can’t be Tony Gwinnett?
