The first ‘free town’ in the Americas, Palenque founded by those who fled a life of slavery in colonial times, has been preserved intact in Colombia. It’s a unique place, famous for its culture, language, gastronomy and, of course, its history.

I never heard of this place before and how interesting! I love that you aren’t doing the you tube crap about showing coffee being made every morning. You are showing a real travel documentary. Palenque and the history of African slaves and first freedom is so important. I recently read where there will now be funded research into the many ships who were lost at sea, carrying slaves from Africa. It is a very important part of history. Plus. Wow the little sense of humor with censored shower scene. Italians lack this whole puritanical history of U.S. LOL! Dis you really shower naked in that parking lot?? That really is more fun than showing us coffee being brewed every morning.

I had already been aware of how they Blacks were kidnapped from Africa and brought over by ships and forced to work in North America and parts of Central and South America.
