Ozarru was the God of destruction before berrus, berrus killed him and claimed the title but when berrus seen that there could be the potential for another super saying god to emerge that could possibly be as strong as ozarru he told friza to destroy planet vegeta, because he knew a descendant of ozarru would be the only one capable of challenging his place as the god of destruction if planet vegeta and the sayians weren't destroyed. that's why whis told vegeta the only way he would train him is if he would become a future God of destruction, thus reclaiming his rightful place of his great ancestor ozarru

Namekians are descended from a multiversal being that created the super dragonballs, and are commonly elevated to god of a planet. Chances are they're god descended too, and i'm betting Orange Piccolo now possesses God Ki in that state, he was briefly able to sense god goku in Broly by locking onto broly first then focusing on goku from there so he likely has a path to god ki through his link to Kami at least.

It makes a lot of sense because even Beerus mentioned a super Saiyan God which led them to do ritual in the 1st place! Which the seer fish told him existed.

Kami also had divine ki as the guardian of earth and was also able to sense it Dendi is the same now, Picalo can also sense divine ki, he just didn't think of trying to sense it since there wasn't many gods around till they showed up

The Kaio Ken technique is a divine transformation, one that Yamcha learns when he was training under King Kai or North Kai, but Yamcha never used it after learning it. When he realized that Goku and Vegeta would be gone from Earth however, he began training in Kaio Ken to the point that he can take on a powerful being much stronger than himself and win. And I do believe that Krillin also learned it and would not use it unless he had to

This is a great theory. I'd love to see this get expanded some more. The thought of a previous Saiyan being a previous God of Destruction seems pretty cool. Of course, there are plenty of fan mangas with fanmade previous and future gods of destruction, so it wouldn't be that far out there to have another with this one.

It would be amazing to find out that Goku, Vegeta, and Broly are direct descendants of Son Goku the monkey god. That's why goku, vegeta, and Broly are just insanely op and are always able to break their limits so easily. With this theory you could really unravel a back story like no other. If Son Goku millions of years ago became a god to stop Majin buu after being created by the demons. one could conclude that Son Goku had his way with many ladies after that crazy battle. By that means creating what we know as the Saiyan race. Son goku dies peacefully but then is reincarnated as Son goku present time.

Considering Akira Toriyama also stated that Goku and Vegeta are distantly related, we know the saiyans had a split in their culture. Nothing states a god of destruction can't create stuff. We could look at it to different ways, he was dying and created an race in his image to be steadfast protectors, or he bred with the Saiyan race. This is taking into consideration most of the Saiyan history and culture was lost way before Frieza came along.

Although I do generally like this theory, there is one thing wrong with it, Divine ki, can be used by anyone of any race, it's just some races find it easier or harder to use it, hell when Goku was going to recruit frieza, we see Frieza actually contain a god of destruction's energy, meaning he could very well have God ki, which wouldn't really be all that surprising because Frieza before Goku came and became super Saiyan never trained a day in his life, and in a few months when he did train after the events of his defeat by Goku, he unlocked a form equal to super Saiyan blue, which we all know is deprived from super Saiyan God and therefore uses Divine ki, the same may also be said for ultra instinct but that's only a maybe, if anything it's deprived from the same key that angels and the grand priest use, and I'm pretty sure angelic ki and divine ki are different in the dragon Ball multiverse, but we do also know that there are at least two or more types of divine ki, the one that the kai uses and the one that the destroyer gods use, but it seems like angelic Ki may only have one form or type, and plus you also have to take into consideration that beerus himself was a mortal, trained by Whis, an Angel, to unlock Divine or God ki, so that he may become a God of destruction, that alone kind of makes your theory obsolete, though it would still be very fun to think about what could happen if this theory was correct.

This actually makes a ton of sense. I’ve often wondered about the Saiyan legends being about a “Super Saiyan”. Goten, Trunks, and Gohan reached SS as little kids and Gohan SS2 barely a teenager and Gotenks could go SS3. It makes sense that the legend wasn’t a “Super Saiyan” but a supreme saiyan, a SS god.

Well Sun Wukong/The Monkey King (also known as Son Goku in Japanese) is the god of fighting. Sun Wukong also traveled on a Nimbus Cloud (Jindouyun/Somersault Cloud) and had a staff Ruyi Jingu Bang (Nyoi Bo in Japanese). Goku from the DB franchise was heavily inspired by the Sun Wukong. So if you mix what you say about DB and Sun Wukong there's a possibility that Saiyan could be descendants of Sun Wukong. Also I shall add that if they are descendants of Sun Wukong and how strong Goku is and how he gets stronger all the time fast throughout the DB franchise is that Goku may not only be descendants but a direct bloodline descendant to Sun Wukong. Well that's just my theory but it is something to think about.

Fun fact: in the original script for battle of gods beerus' name was written differently so itnwould be a reference to the word virus nor beer. He would have been an anthropomorphic lizard that went around the universe infecting races with what was essentially evil itself, causing them to be violent and destructive. He would reveal the last race he did this to was the saiyans and that while they were always warriors they werent murderers, and thats why half saiyans are generally more peaceful, their hybrid biology cancels out his infection. But then toriyama decided to model beerus after his cat and make him the god of desteuction after the vet said he legitimately believed it was a demon.

Are we forgetting the most important fact? Toriyama is flying by the seat of his pants and is making it up as he goes along. The amount of times he forgot he did something in the past to retcon in the moment? Speculate all you like but the man is just going “fuck it” left and right, and I love it!

This "Fan Made" kind of explains it,, remember when Whis said that there was once 18 universes, but Grand Zeno erased 6 of them,, then in the tournament of power, 17 wished for all the universes to be brought back, he didn't say only the ones that were erased today,,,, he just said that he wanted to bring them all back. Yes, this theory fits! It's also interesting that all of the other races of Destroyers are various animals and the Simeon is missing. I also remember talk that Zeno erased a few Destroyers in the past. I think the theory is quite sound.

It makes sense. Whis is adamant on Vegeta becoming a God of Destruction. Vegetas bloodline could be a direct line, which is why he could achieve the form by himself. It could be a way of bringing prestige back to his royal bloodline by becoming a God of Destruction and becoming the king of all Saiyans.

Its very possible but also remember saiyans are grown in pods of some sort meaning it could also be a genetic mutation or saiyans are actually the real Gods the first creatures to move from monkey forms to Godly hood and are able to revert to the same form at will once they have fully mastered the power but thats just a thought your theory makes more sense and i love it could make a great story line

This theory makes a lot of sense... I swear at some point Beer's had mentioned he wasn't the first God of destruction choosen for this universe. And as we have seen through the end of the tournament of Power that the gods do pick then next one to be a God of destruction.

I agree and also it was Lord B that wanted Vegeta to become the next God of Destruction if I'm not mistaken so I see your point there. No other fighters can raise their power levels the way Goku and Vegeta could so that in itself should show that they have a divine power in their bloodline and also the reason why powerful villains like Freezer was afraid of them and tried to extinct them.

While I like this theory, it’s likely that saiyans just have a genetic predisposition to transformations, and when they build up a high concentration of god ki, they transform. This explanation could work for the ritual as well, since yamoshi wasn’t a super saiyan god, only a super saiyan. When he died, the universe probably allowed his soul to roam the universe until it found a pure hearted saiyan who had 5 other pure hearted saiyans poor their power into him. And for dying for a good cause, made him some kid of saiyan deity that doesn’t really exist in the godly hierarchy. So when his soul enters the saiyan who the rest are pooring their power into, his god ki causes their body to react the same way as if they had trained for the form

My headcannon is that the saiyans are the only race that has hair adapt to their transformations, not the only race that has them. Beerus may be a god but just like Goku and Vegeta he was trained by Whis before becoming a god. That means he was once a mortal with destruction powers just like Toppo who was shown to have a god transformation. As for why 5 saiyans can spawn another ssjg? Just plot convenience, there was no thought beyond that to make it all make sense.

Maybe it was suppose to be for balance between deities. In order for a SSJ god they have to have righteous hearts. So their purpose may have been to help a balance between all life from mortals to deities.

Well they clearly tell you that Toppo was a God Of Destruction in training and he even cemented that decision in the tournament of power when he took on a god of destruction form and used the energy as well(even though he ended up catching Vegetas hands in the end). So honestly this theory has quite a bit of backing if you really think about it because we already know that gods of destruction are chosen and trained.

This means that even krillin can attain divine ki. Before Kami there was another guardian of earth and by watching the background scenes it is clear that he was a human. Thus all humans also have divine ki. They just need to train hard enough

So also a point towards your theory. In the battle of the gods. Berus was looking for the “Original” Super saiyain god. He settled for Goku cuz he said he could replicate it and keep him entertained. If this is the case. It coulda been there was a “God” like you said that found humanoid species he mated with. N made the Legacy in the first place.

I think long ago the saiyans did play a part in the hierarchy of gods and were the army or protectors of the universe. But overtime as gods became more powerful they were no longer needed so the angels erased their memories of their past and gave them their own planet.

Unfortunately, the series won't ever explain it. With Master gone, whatever they'll do with DB it won't be the same, nor even real cannon.. 😢 R.I.P A.T. (*)

I like this theory. However, myself personally would, (piggybacking off of your theory) say the original Saiyajin god could have been a god of war. Making them different that the other deities and also NOT having his power granted by anyone else. This would in fact fit better with the Saiyajin's being a warrior race who enjoy fighting! Interesting little bit of world building. It wouldn't really be a huge departure, since the writer's favor already makes Saiyans the most special race in the universe. Mind you, it's equally plausible that the other races we've seen COULD potentially pull off some sort of divine transformation, but we'll never see the necessary conditions because they're not important enough. After all, as you point out, many races can be elevated to divinity with divine assistance. But this certainly works, and it's an interesting idea. Well done.

I think what's always made the most sense to me in the "divine Energy" is that ALL mortals have the Potential to tap into their inner "light". BECAUSE the Kaioshin are creator gods. And subsequently created everything in their own universes with DIVINE ENERGY. Most beings just won't ever reach it, cause it requires a ritual for most, or such a rigorous amount of training to attain that usually mortals are too short lived to attain it. But Saiyins have a natural "short cut" through their own biology and unique ability for transforming already.

They performed the ritual on vegeta after the Berus fight if you remember correctly Goku stated “ we can perform it on you Next” before being whipped by Berus, secondly the supremes create everything without limitations and allow them to find there on way because the Saiyans are a progressive race they have found a way to tap in to devine energy if you notice krillin piccolo and gohan now have the ability to sense god key

I think namekians will be able to get divine ki. If they are descendants of zalama. And in one of the manga page during the granola arc it was mentioned that "namekians come from a completely different realm all together"

I have to "correct" one thing. It is assumed they do the God transformation for Vegeta as well, but it is not shown. At the end of the Super movie Bulma, Vegeta and Goku are standing there and Vegeta says "You know your doing that for me as well!". Goku "oh I know". Or something similar. I can't imagine with their rivalry that Goku wouldn't allow Vegeta the opportunity, and that Vegeta wouldn't want it.

What if Ozaru had broken the cardinal rule/law and fell for a mortal, or was in love with a mortal before his ascension, who knows but through time he made his race he also neglected his duties as God Of Destruction. Bringing about and abominable universal threat a being that almost suceeded in destroying the universe Moro, before he was stopped by two cat like warrior beings. Beerus and Champa, through hellish fight the warriorstook out the threat and were rewarded with two wishes. Champa immediatelywished to become the god of destructionof his own universe and smiled as he became a God of destruction before his brother sticking his toungue out at his brother as he was wisked away. Secretly Beerus had made his wish to save Champas life who had suffered a severe in blow in the battle. Afterwards Beerus asked a lone angel who even though annoying seemed to take a liking to him, and pointed him in the direction of the Old GOd Of Destruction. After performing a partial ritual the only thing to do was confront Ozaru about his Negligence a fierce battle began ending with Beerus landing finishing blow, and passing out. However this was the old gods plan, he knew it was time for a new God who would not forsake his duties or so he hoped and with a smile the Old God of destruction began to vanish, telling Whis to vow to not tell him of his death keeping the next god of destruction ever vigilant for his rival. He the carried him to the pier and completed the ritual allowing the next God of destruction to be born. Beerus ever wondering where his rival was the SSG.

Wasn't it established that only after coming to Earth they became able to sense ki? I believe Vegeta even mentions it when he goes to Namek, that after visiting Earth he no longer needs a scouter. Could Sayans also have the ability to "learn" divine Ki by being in its presence or some other method? Vegeta said that he trained to obtain god-mode after seeing it was possible for Goku, and succeeded. Reaching super-sayan was tough but then later, reaching it could be explained through a simple technique of concentrating on a certain part of your back (or somthing like that) and Cabba and a another Sayan reach that level quickly as well. What if Sayans are still simply just a warrior-breed, designed with infinite potential to surpass challenges. Vegeta also said things like: sayans gain a power boost after healing from something that nearly kills them; keep more youthful bodies for longer in order to keep fighting, etc.

Saiyan's aren't the only being to tap into God Ki. We see several others harness it. Also we know that bc of Sayains having the genetic traits of Zenkai Boost, they get stronger every fight which only makes sense they'd eventually access God Ki. Although this theory is very interesting, it's simply one person's theory that others may like, but only the creator can tell us the story behind his creation.

Challenged him and beat him and took his place in universe 7 maybe this explains why the other god of destruction also got beaten by him. Maybe champa isn’t really beerus Brother but his other half of what beerus and champa used to be. Since in my theory beerus/champa killed this god of destruction name oozaru he turned beerus/champa into separate entities and gods of destruction…

The saiyan race originated from one of the destroyed universes. However, when an universe is destroyed the 2 gods of the strongest race is able to help the race escape from xeno's powers even if the god of destruction cannot, but loses their memory and power as a result

Hmm cool theory, in my fanfic where the universe is highly based on elder scrolls but with a lot of dragon ball and some animes, the protagonist is part yokai, part saiyan and part elf lol, one of the gods was a monkey and his descendants are the saiyans, the mirrored universes where due to the nature of the energy being made of components that could exist together in the same universe but rather in different almost identical ones. The protagonist is the son of an yokai princess who is also the daughter of a newly formed alliance of a type of yokais and dark elves, and his dad is a saiyan from universe 6 who got caught in a black hole and was sent to universe 15 where all happened, late in the history the protagonist would meet goku and the Z fighters to find the monkey god in universe 0, aetherius

The actual reason why other races can’t use god ki is they simply don’t know how to get/use god ki without a guide (Angel) and about the ritual it can only be done with yamoshi’s spirit if it was gone there would be no ritual so even humans and freiza and other races could get god ki but they don’t have an angel to guide them but idk why saiyans hair changes color
