Interesting that so few of the many magnificent buildings that were supposed to be erected in the early 1900's had little or no photographic documentation to archive their construction when cameras were not uncommon a this time. It is almost as if many of these buildings were rediscovered and repurposed. The massive sprawling asylums of the day certainly come to mind. So many unstable minds in relation to the relatively low number of the populations during this era doesn't really add up in my assessment. The number of artisans and skilled construction laborers must have been extremely high in comparison to the average people of the time. Not to mention how the tremendous amount of building materials such as brick and stone would have been moved with horse and buggy and no power tools available. So many of these structures were completed in only a few years. We seem to have lost the keys to these techniques in our modern day and age. quite perplexing indeed!
@@TakeTheRide You are a bit more optimistic than I am. As for me , If there is no power I will be reading one of my thirty or so Rudolf Steiner books or some other esoteric gem from my modest collection. Not sure how many folks actually read these days sadly.
