This is better than other unranked to GM videos because rather than just showing a compilation of random pubstomp clip compilations and the rank milestone animations, he's actually telling a story. It's a much more interesting video in general for that reason alone.

most of the unranked to gm are boring gameplay no commentary and just boring 3-5 hours videos but this was different he deserves alot more ngl

The thing that made this a good unranked to GM is that he struggled. He had to learn a hero and make it work. Most others just play their main role again and basically just smurf their way back to their rank.

That Plat experience section hits so true. I've really been having a hard time making it out of Plat because despite my effort as Doom, people refuse to keep trying at some point. I'm not blameless, obviously, I'm Plat for a reason, but damn dude .

I think unranked to GM on hero’s that don’t do big damage like LW or mercy is actually interesting cause they’re usually actually educational, and not just “click heads lol”

This is the best unranked to GM because it is an actual climb, he is genuinely learning the hero and climbing as his skill level and the power of the hero in general improves, there was also mystery around whether or not he would be able to complete it.

WifeLeaver, the only new character underpowered on release as opposed to overpowered like every other new character

When Bogur said "masters 5, it's not diamond" after going 5 and 13, that was sooo much cope and I know this because I went 5 and 14 and said the exact same thing before I lost more games and de-ranked to diamond. 🤣🤣Overwatch do be like that sometimes

I haven't been a part of the OW community for all that long, only really started playing late '21 or early '22, but I don't need all that past community to know this is likely one of the best pieces of Overwatch content ever created. It at least was the best video game video I've ever seen

I know ML7 is like an amazing support player anyways but imagine life weaver on launch, before all the buffs and quality of life changes they made....he made it to grandmasters with life weaver only. He was the truly the 1st

This kinda reminds me of one guys Unranked Genji to GM where he tried to get his Genji there. Teammates telling him to switch or leaving the game because he had Genji. I honestly don't mind the Unranked "insert character" to GM vids. Some are made by very great teachers who actually explain what they learned. It basically depends on if the person is actually good at teaching and explanations. You could be an absolute genius in anything on planet earth but your knowledge would be worthless to everyone else cause you cannot put any of it into words. Some people are just way better at explaining things but definitely not everyone lmfao. Honestly the video was extremely interesting to me cause I actually love playing Lifeweaver lol. I play him quite frequently. Though Bogurs video isn't as informative about the character itself as the guy I watch do other Unranked to GMs, Bogurs vid however does talk about ranking in general and that's something that is kinda nice to learn and understand. Less tips, techs and all around information on LW itself and more about the ranking journey.

I play at GM myself and when WifeLeaver dropped I tried to give him a chance as I was having Gr8 success in QP with him. I had not one, not two but SIX straight games where someone told me to switch or they would throw LITERALLY as the game of ranked started. Jokes on them because I ended dup going 5-6 and ranked up to a higher percentage of GM1 lol

People leaving the winnable match is a real problem in lower rank

I've been playing since 2016 and I feel I've gotten better... Started off on xbox because controllers felt more personal than mouse and keyboard. My rank started off in high silver in 2016 I didn't play comp a WHOLE lot but I managed to make it to Gold on all roles. Then overwatch 2 dropped and I placed bronze 5 in all roles for some reason... Im not the best player by any means, but I do feel that the way my team plays dictates how I play...I feel like I could match plat-diamond 2 players energy with comms and from there work my way up into mid masters. I don't currently see gm in my future but it's frustrating being stuck in a rank where people get triggered at everything and have no awareness, positioning, peel or synergy.

The best thing about lifeweaver right now is he has a decent ult and he is hard to kill if he has his cooldowns. Honestly if you want a heal bot like this you should make his healing better or keep his healing the same and add damage to his kit so he doesn’t feel like you’re not doing enough on either end of his kit.

When he showed dafran felt the pain, but problem with lifeweaver is you have to carry the heals but that doesn't carry your teammates brains and even so if you are carrying too hard the other team start to hard focusing you making it worse, other teams swap to sombra just to annoy me, you really need nerves of adamantium because steel is not enough

What happened to Bogur at 7:30 is why people say elo hell exists. People constantly leaving and throwing games that are either completely winnable or at times literally just started. Ik higher ranks have to deal with people who leave as well but from what I’ve seen and heard that’s mostly because someone dcs and not because they throw. I can’t speak for diamond and above but as a plat player I encounter at least one leaver or someone who throws every 30-40 games I play. This type of thing happens more often than people think lol
