THE FIRST NOEL LYRICS
The first Noel the angel did say,
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay.
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,
On a cold winters night that was so deep.
They looked up and saw a star,
Shining in the east beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
And by the light of that same star,
Three wise men came from country afar;
To seek for a king was their intent,
And to follow the star wherever it went.
This star drew nigh to the northwest,
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest,
And there it did both stop and stay
Right over the place where Jesus lay.
Then entered in those wise men three,
full rev’rently upon their knee,
and offered there, in His presence,
their gold and myrrh and frankincense.

I love how you keep all the Christian verses in. So many of these hymns have been stripped of the theology and narration of Christ’s birth to soften them to modern ears, but they’re beautiful as originally intended

Whoa. You don’t even know the esoteric, occult, allegorical, metaphorical, and mistranslations around “Christianity”. Born & raised Roman Catholic (been in recovery for about 25yrs since I was around 12) The birth of Christ is all astronomical allegory. A story that is much like the dozens of “sun gods” 12 disciples=12 houses of the zodiac. (Mithra. Dionysus. Krishna. Horace. Same story basically. Over 100 direct parallels exist btwn JC & Horace) The three kings=belt stars of Orion which r literally called The Three Kings. On Dec 21/22 the sun “dies” In the sky for 3 days. Dec 24/25 the sun is “born” again as it begins to move upwards in the sky signaling longer warmer days r coming. Mary is obviously Virgo the virgin. “They” worked the birth of Christ into the Pagan traditions of the winter solstice celebrations to make conversion less of a shock. (In the bleak midwinter…) Why do u think Easter (or Ishtar) is celebrated on the first Sunday after the 1st full moon after lol the Spring Equinox? The old Catholic & “Christian” (what does that even mean? What denomination are you? Bc if you really are a “believer” it’ll very much depend on what you believe and what you choose not to. In your world w the man in the clouds. Bc the OT says I can kill my son who disobeyed me. Or my dad for wearing a garment made w 2 different fabrics. Shellfish? Nope. Meat on Friday? Nope, not just during Lent, I’m talking all year. I still eat fish on Friday, year round, not every week but 2 minimum…and I’ve never believed lol that’s kinda funny Sorry but I find it nauseating to see the first sentence in your comment is a compliment for keeping all “the Christian lyrics” in LMAO. As opposed to what other ones? This isnt the radio for frick sakes. Besides, This is a terrible version of a beautiful Christmas carol anyways, I’m just in a weird mood so I decided to talk some $hit and I’ve already spent 5min writing this, so yeah, I’m out. @@Jacob-hr2vf Think you’ve missed the point, bud. I hope you “serve” him by treating all ppl w the compassion & respect they deserve. So many Christians & Catholics think you have a monopoly on Christmas & who gets into heaven lol. You mentioned theology, yet, there is nothing theological about this. It’s not Biblical studies. Not church history. Systemic theology, nope. Nor is it practical theology lol Its a Song/Chorale! No wise men came searching. There was no star of Bethlehem (if anything it was just Sirius) it’s all allegory & metaphor; very important ones but the birth story of “JC” is impossible to know. Why? Bc the authors of the gospels made it up. While we’re on the topic of the gospels, why was the first known copy of (which was Mark) written in Greek? This shouldn’t diminish your feelings about the trinity, if anything i feel closer to “god”/spirit/the source” now than I ever did as a practicing Catholic now that I’ve educated myself on the Abrahamic religions. Couple this w meditation & my heart has been as light as a feather for over 10yrs. Stop clinging to god! You’re only clinging to your perception of “him”. Once you realize there’s nothing to cling to you’ll feel a freedom that is beyond liberating. Merry Christmas 🎄
