Adamastor, a Portuguese startup, aims to elevate Portugal's reputation beyond its sunny weather, Port wine, and Cristiano Ronaldo by introducing its first supercar, the Furia. According to Top Gear, the Furia is a daringly designed vehicle powered by a potent Ford-sourced engine. The company, which has roots dating back to 2010, shifted its focus from race cars to road vehicles in 2018. After years of development, their first production model is ready.
The Furia features a striking design reminiscent of a spaceship or Le Mans racer, with a carbon-fiber body, bubble cockpit, bulbous fenders, and a significant rear wing, producing over 2,200 pounds of downforce at 155 mph. Its 3.5-liter Ford Performance V-6 engine generates 650 horsepower and 421 ft-lbs of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 62 mph in around 3.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 186 mph. Despite its modest engine size, the car's lightweight carbon-fiber chassis keeps it highly competitive.
Adamastor plans to produce 60 units of the Furia, each priced at approximately €1.6 million ($1.7 million). The startup is ambitiously targeting established supercar brands like Koenigsegg and Rimac, hoping that enthusiasts will invest in their high-performance creation.
