The First Real Heartbreak - The Golden Bachelor Week 5 RECAP (The Seniors Only Bachelor Season)

In Faith's defense though, the women pressed her for more details, then regretted it 😂

What really got me with this episode, is instead of Jesse saying “take a moment and say your goodbyes” he said “take as long as you need”. That change in line undid me.

I want Susan for Golden Bachelorette so bad; she was so sweet and supportive of the others, sis deserves her own love story. Also Sandra popping up in the camera angle had me rolling.

I care more about these women and Gerry in such a short period of time than I have sometimes most seasons with either the Bachelor or Bachelorette.

The gasps I let out hearing “You’re my girl” and calling Theresa over Ellen 😭 this show has me fully hooked for the first time since Peter’s season

Susan is definitely the "big sister" to all the ladies in the group, taking care of her little sisters.💯

Susan was soooo sweet and comforting towards the others. I know she was hurt and disappointed as well but handled rejection with such poise and grace. This episode was sooo sad….

Susan had the best personality out of all the contestants! She was so friendly to the other women and didn't take it so personally when she didn't get a rose.

What a difference this show is. I fully believe these women when they say they're falling for Garry. I don't know why but it's so heartbreaking to see them go home. And Garry is such a gentleman.

My fav part of last night's episode was sandra's face popping into the screen up close ,and waving at the helicopter. Ive watched it twice now ,and it makes me laugh so hard.

Ellen carried herself with total grace. Clear to the end. Beautiful woman.

Well, this was a fun show! I watched it at my parent's house. At the end, when he gave the last rose to Teresa, my dad said, "I would have gave it to the blonde." My mother gave him that look 👀 and he just started laughing! It was a 'moment.' We didn't even think he was paying attention to the show! 🤣

I feel bad for Ellen. You can tell she did NOT see that coming. She was so shell shocked

It was so touching to see when the one lady was being comforted by the other after freaking out that she told Gary she had feelings for him. For the most part, these ladies have really helped one another and that has been great to see.

When the ladies had one last group hug, I swear I heard Susan say "stay out of my boobs"! 🤣

I felt really bad for Susan. She was my favourite of all the women on the show. Such a positive, beautiful person. She should be the next Bachelorette! Susan, you rock!

I loved Susan!!! She didn't get much screentime but when she did she had such a positive, bright energy about her. I would have loved to keep seeing her

Gerry sincerely seems like a kind person and he has the emotional maturity (obviously) that men and women on the Bachelor and Bachelorette often are lacking.

I thought it was artistic the way Sondra joined the image in that shot; could hardly even plan that. Ellen may have outdone Kathy when she quipped about Faith after she came home from the date, "you ain't that special, girlfriend..." which was sort of eye-opening.

I was rooting for Ellen over Theresa but I also noticed he chose all brunettes with longer hair so guess he’s got a type!!

Doesn't anyone think leslie ,and faith look similar 😂

Honestly i appreciate all 6 of these women left. They really mature and care about eachother.

Up till last episode I thought Faith or Theresa is F1. But, looking at this ep, I have a feeling it's Leslie. He tells her "you're my girl" and it just seems to reassuring.

I think the bachelor/ette producers had a feud with each other about what sells better. Wholesome love or stinky drama. Instead of fighting it out and compromising, I think they ran a test with golden bachelor and bachelor in paradise pitted against each other to test what sells. This explains why bachelor in paradise has never been more stupidly dramatic because all the dramatic producers are on that one and all the wholesome producers are on golden bachelor. Pretty clear to see which ones better

Ellen has been my favourite since Day 1. Sad to see her disappointed 💔 She has such a beautiful, uplifting spirit and lots of spunk too Fingers crossed that she'll find an amazing soulmate who adores and appreciates her completely. 💖🍀

I feel bad for the Ladies that are not picked because it's a tuff time in their lives to find that special someone. We all deserve that someone special.

I think Faith is the safest and best choice. Leslie is a good choice but she isn’t the safest.. seems like she needs a ton of reassurance. Theresa… like her but don’t see it for her at all. I felt there was a lack of emotion from her words and I think Gerry won’t feel that connection with her. Love this show!!

I literally LOVE Faith since day 1, and always seem to cry whenever they are together. Like, their chemistry is electric and thick; i can feel it

Sad to see ellen, sandra ,and susan all go. I felt all 3 were pretty genuine people and i think with a different lead at least 1 if not 2 of them might have been in that final 3. Im not really seeing the connection between Leslie, and gerry, i think it's pretty physical, and surface level compared with the other 2.

I really liked Susan, but I didn't see any interest from her or from Gary. When she got sent home, she was probably like, meh, I'm gonna go home and make some meatballs. See ya. 😆

I was honestly surprised Ellen was sent home, TO ME it seemed like she had a stronger connection with him than Leslie. I was also surprised he's only doing 3 hometowns, I wonder if they're saving FS for the final two as their generation seems to be a lot more conservative when it comes to $3x?

I still think F1is Leslie, BUT Leslie as edited from the Talent Show on with "I never get chosen," to last night where she broke down over his date with Faith feels inferior and insecure in herself. She was married twice for short periods with not a happy dating life. On the other hand, he describes his long marriage and Toni as wonderful. Like everyone else, Leslie is a product of her experiences. No matter what he says, Leslie is going to feel like she is competing with a ghost.

Right now! In editing he has shown NO doubt(s) toward Leslie as with Theresa and Faith. All comments are positive. Right now that is F1 treatment. However!!! Editing clearly shows a Leslie that lacks self- confidence from the Talent Show to her time alone with Gary at the Amusement Park with all the tears and breaking down...insecurity and inferiority😢 Again we are ALL products of our experiences - and her dating and marital experiences have not been good. If he marries Leslie - even though unintentional - the wonderful Toni and his great marriage will always be there in the background, in her life, and in her new marriage. People will make mentions and comments. That is human nature. It is tough to compete with a ghost! In my opinion only, a man who has has had a wonderful marriage with a wonderful wife needs to marry a new wife with self-confidence or at least with some kind of similar background.

Gerry seems like a genuinely sweet man, but to me, it looks like a lot of his roses are about trying to make the person in front of him feel better. If that’s true, I don’t doubt that it’s coming from a place of genuine kindness and care, but I worry that it’s getting in the way of exploring his connections as real partners.

I think Faith matches his vibe the most. Def sad to see Susan go - she's welcome to give me a call! I was paying attention during that game of "have I ever" 😆

Ellen was pissed. But I didn’t see them as a match. She seems older than Gary. It was clear from the beginning that the three remaining would be his choices they have a more youthful vibe about them
