I'm not 100% sure, but if I were to guess the game most likely gets the controller model from SteamVR and then renders them in the game. EDIT: Got confirmation, I was correct.
I recorded this on PC. The reason you see the Quest 2 controllers in the video is because SteamVR sends the model information for the Quest 2 controllers to Rec Room and then it renders them where the hands are supposed to be.
smth i’ve also noticed about old rr is that i feel like the hand models are like, weirdly a little more polygonal? i don’t know if that’s just me going crazy tho
