Makes you appreciate tightened so much more. It is one thing to make game more difficult, but it takes much more effort and skill to make the game difficult in a creative way that is interesting to play

Did you actually forced to use Colt Python on Pnom Penh? Because if it did, forcing you to use a slow moving weapon makes this mission a lot worse. Like the moving plane quirk idea might still do it nicely if you are are given a... Krueger or Micro SMG. If it is M60 then, that's horrible. It should have been a Minigun instead to balance it out.

I know another mod for a different Rockstar title that has very similar badly designed segments It was that Bully SE mod made by the most hated Bully modder, at least at the time, and the enemies just has way too much health, making everything tedious Compared to both mods, I think that Bully mod is far worse than this one

Unironically love this version of Phnom Penh 86: it has the right amount of fever dreaminess to it. The last section with 2HP is too much though.

This mod overall is more accurate to a classic exaggerated GTA take on Miami in the 80s but sometimes it's just broken or too much.

I love the level change design on 86 and TFB. A RC plane instead of a helicopter and a shark gang driving away with the boat. A nice way to change the way how we normally play the mission. However the execution wasn’t good. Especially the 2hp section and the bullet sponge van.

ngl full-sending the van off into ocean was like the most intuitive thing, it's just speedrunners have a sort of warped mindset and tend to think easy things are hard and hard things are easier. There's a lot of RNG here to piss even buddha off, but skill issue is still skill issue

The issue is more that I had to spend so long grinding through the early sections just to have a go at doing the final section. If a strategy doesn't work once, you might think you just got unlucky and that it will work a second time, etc. That plus hours of dying over and over, you definitely stop thinking straight lmao

Even as a casual player, it's not necessarily obvious if you never played GTA:SA where bailing out of a speeding car was introduced as a mission mechanic, because screwing up the timing no longer kills you.

fucking hell. that boat mission was so terribly designed and flawed it should be the keypoint of "how to not design" lectures. It was not tested, not approved by anyone but the mod creator, half assed implementation, barely working. It was painful to watch, glad that's behind you, ggs

I feel like this mod has a lot of potential to be a good rival to Tightened Vice if the creator changes up the missions a bit, so that they're more fair and consistent. Some of the concepts I find more interesting than Tightened

Not happening sadly, dev has stated: "Every single mission was playtested to a point where it could be consistently beaten if you're skilled enough, including the ones where people winged on pre-nerfed missions. Probably my last sizeable update to this mod, unless another fatal bug appears."

It's hard to understand where author draws the line. E.g. the van with boat can't go uphill or downhill without being stuck: is it an intended mechanic or is it an (un)fixable flaw?

One thign to keep in mind is VC sort of allows you to shoot trough walls, especelly when crouched behind a low wall, could possibly help at times. I am thinking really hard now, perhaps that is not a good advice if the enemy knows it as well.

Of all the design incompetence seen throughout the series, attaching the boat to the car without allowing for rotation so it pinches the car against the ground if it does, then demanding you put it in the water is waaaaay up there. Adding godmode enemies that crash the game if they manage to drown when your objective relies on water... This isn't a difficulty mod, it's *just* a troll mod. I refuse to believe a modder who knows the scripting this in depth would make mistakes this blatant on accident.

The fastest boat has to be one of the biggest piss take, tests of patience I’ve seen! 😅😅 towards the end when your about to get into the burrito and get busted 😅😅 you just have to laugh at that point fair play for not getting TOO pissed off! It got so frustrating for me to watch that it does actually become laughable! Well done for getting it done 👌🤝

Admittedly this mod does have potential. There are parts that seem interesting in this mod, mainly the missions that are the least thought out and therefore easier to exploit (like Two Bit Hit). I think the mod author should just change this mod so that it just does random changes that are not necessarily made to be harder. I personally certainly wouldn't mind a mod like that.

why is he constantly complaining and blaming “poor design” whenever he can’t pass the mission? “Weird sensitivity, weird controls”, like isn’t it the point of the whole mod? Idk why people are hating on this mod so much for being broken or poor designed, it’s fucking meant to be like that. Like it genuinely takes skill to be able to shoot the guys with python from baron without missing a single bullet and wasting any more time
