This brings back memories of when I was doing my cbt on the same bike. I literally made all the same mistakes you did. Been riding for 2 years now and it's really cool looking back at it all
Agree or disagree. But as far as I'm concerned, bike tests these days are just a money-making scam. When I was younger, you took your test on the road with one guy standing and watching you. and it must have taken half an hour. All this crap now is just to con people out of a lot of money, and I don't like being conned. I haven't passed my test, but I was riding a 250-cc for years and never had any accidents. It may be important if you intend to ride a high-powered bike but not a 250-cc There is nothing they could teach me that would make me ride any better. I'm sure it would be easier and less hassle to get your flying license. I only wish I had taken my test before they brought all this bullsh*t in.
My Uncle rides and he thinks the same as you, all a waste of your money cos let's be honest, you should be able to ride upto AT LEAST a 125cc without a CBT, all you need to learn is basic highway code so a small test on that would be enough. Anyone can teach themselves in a quiet car park or street to ride and get used to clutch control. When I was younger we all used to ride dirt bikes, and Quads round open fields and woods and we self taught with no risk of crashing into anyone or anything (no one ever rang police then either or if police did appear they would just tell us to be careful) whereas now kids can't even do stuff like that without some person ringing the police on them and the bikes getting confiscated! The whole thing needs to be sorted out, or at a minimum they need to at least change the 2 year CBT renewal thing cos that's ridiculous, once or twice is enough, then after 5 years on it you should no longer need L plates and you can have a passenger. Whole thing is a joke!
@@gentleoutdoors Yes, I think things were much less hassle back then and a lot more fun when I was a lot younger. You took one test, and that was it, but I made the mistake of not taking my test, and I’ve always regretted it. I believe all these different so-called tests are just money-making schemes and totally ridiculous. Some people say there are fewer bike accidents because of the new tests, but fewer accidents could also be down to the fact there are fewer bikes on the road. Many people can’t afford these tests or are unwilling to pay the ridiculous amount they charge. I did have 250cc and 125 and used to ride them on a provisional license, then I think the size dropped down to 125cc on provisional. I can imagine it was a good laugh. riding quads in fields. I used to ride in fields, but I only had a trail bike. A friend of mine is trying to get me to take my CBT with him, but it’s the principle of it. I wouldn’t pay for a test where I can only ride for 2 years when I did the same thing on a provisional license many years ago without any sort of test back in the good old days, and I totally agree something needs to be done about this ridiculous money-making scheme.
Perhaps he was more confident in you, but the instructor seemed to be shadowing the other guy and losing you. You wasn't dawdling either just riding safely.
The other dude with him was probably struggling so the instructor held back a little to be with him. It's what's happened on mine there was some 17 year old girl on the course and she was really nervous on the road and kept stalling the bike so the instructor held back with her while I went down the road by myself.
Nicely done 👍🏻 especially with the truck. Was this your first time on the road? Filtering carefully and watching out for those wet manhole covers looked good. I remember my CBT ride. Icy cold damp February, filled with all the usual surprises. Enjoy riding mate.
Ive finaly decided to get my finger out my arse stop wasting my money on e scooter and other junk and just get my cbt done and get proper bit of freedom as most manufacturer job are out the road and most are early start which means no busses. Hopefully ill get wveeytjing done and bought by next summer :)
@@WakeY97 no I haven't done it due to financial difficulties, I ended up getting another scooter faster one this time hahaha and ye it was great fun they didn't even look at me they knew they wouldn't catch me. Of you don't have the funds scooter is the way to go but if you are getting one spend that extra money so you could get away from them if u had too
Great job on your part. Pity the instructor seems a total fool, riding in front a lot of the time. That is a really bad way to run a CBT. I'd avoid any instructor like that.
Hiya mate if you choose to do the cbt on a automatic 50cc scooter can you still ride a 125cc geared bike once you pass I'm guessing you can but just wondering 👍
@@GenerateGodx no mate there's just 125cc geared bike and 50cc automatic scooter I just did it on the automatic scooter and passed its easy just do it on the scooter then when you pass get a geared 125cc like I have
hey mate, got my cbt on 14th of this month and am terrified, I have no highway code knowledge and I've never ridden a motorbike before either. just wanted to ask if they were patient and taught you everything you need to know about Highway code and how to ride the bike?
Hi. I would brush up on your highway code. Especially on round abouts and junctions. The main thing they are watching for is you being safe on the road. One thing I'm glad I switched was going from a manual to a twist and go scooter. With the scooter I didn't have to worry about the gears and could concentrate on the road. When I passed I got myself a manual and learnt how to ride on quiet nights and roads. Glad I did as its way more fun than a twist and go. Just listen to the instructor, keep safe and have fun.
14:14 I'm pretty sure he was not supposed to Overtake the leading Vehicle while approaching the Zigzag lines at the Lights. Plz correct me if I am wrong.
