The First Tree is a third-person exploration game centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family, and a son reconnecting with his father in Alaska. Players take control of the fox on a poignant and beautiful journey that crescendos at the source of life, and perhaps result in an understanding of death. Along the way, players can uncover artifacts and stories from the son's life as he becomes intertwined in the fox’s journey towards The First Tree.

this game lowkey changed me. without spoiling it at all it DEFINITELY deserves your time. the story is beautiful and covers very deep themes. when i first got the game i didnt think much of it but by the end i was actually wowed, its so worth the time and money.

It's not great. They basically showed you the whole game. Just blindly run around empty areas finding (usually useless) collectibles occasionaly

@@ZamWeazle It's been out for a year. I don't know what the other fox game you are referring to is. However, I will describe this game. The game has a pretty good story, but that's all that's going for it. Basically you are a fox that runs around a beautiful environment doing the same meaningless task: collect the glowing sphere things. You just blindly run around the same empty environment trying to find the collectables. Every area looks the same. There is no platforming or real challenge. You just run around. That's it. That's the game. Do this for 2 hours and you beat it. The big problem with the game is that it's boring. The art style is great, but that doesn't make up for the meaningless gameplay.

@@Bobby-Dingers kits are also what we call baby foxes, minks, ferrets and some even call rabbits kits as well. I'm sure there are other animals too that people use kits when classifying their young.

Yes, I was happy with Abzu coming. We need more of those exploration games with an incredible settings (sound, music and artistic direction) and interesting story telling that makes you live an experience. Once in a while, it is refreshing to play those instead of heavy action oriented games.

I love indie games on Nintendo Switch. Like honestly the fact that I can experience those awesome stories even when I'm chilling at a café is just incredible. Will: The Wonderful World is definitely in my top 3 favourite games. The awesomeness of indie games is that almost every each is unique.

This game started out as a gamejolt development title. The developer, David Welhle had been going through tough times. He delayed the game tons of times and never made an official name. I stopped tracking its progress in 2016 after I assumed he gave up. Now here we are, same man, same game, same graphic style. It’s finally happening.

Played this game on my PS4 I so wish I had the switch at the time this game came out. A beautiful game that was fun and beautiful to play. I just hate how short it was. Only a 2-hour game but totally worth every penny. Might buy for the switch and play it again.

First thought for me was Gris as a 3D openworld game with a fox. Such great visuals, color choices and music like Gris too. And a really solid story that doesnt have to be this grand, elaborate thing... just a good story that's solid and does its own thing

I listen to the soundtrack to the game all the time to relax. If you want a similar-looking experience, check out Spirit of the North also on Switch. Both contain stellar OST's.
